Event-based incremental updating of spatio-temporal database

Based on the relationship among the geographic events, spatial changes and the database operations, a new automatic (semi-automatic) incremental updating approach of spatio-temporal database (STDB) named as event-based incremental updating (E-BIU) is proposed in this paper. At first, the relationship among the events,spatial changes and the database operations is analyzed, then a total architecture of E-BIU implementation is de-signed, which includes an event queue, three managers and two sets of rules, each component is presented in detail.The process of the E-BIU of master STDB is described successively. An example of buildings incremental updating is given to illustrate this approach at the end. The result shows that E-BIU is an efficient automatic updating ap-proach for master STDB.

为了实现继电保护专业管理现代化,提出了录波数据、保护信息远传的方案。针对现场实际情况,开发设计了基于QNX实时操作系统的通讯管理机,在硬件结构上可以满足当前电力系统中多数智能终端单元的通讯需求;同时,软件的体系结构采用模块化和层次化的设计思想。实时操作系统的应用,改变了传统软件的开发过程,能克服顺序结构软件的缺点,并且具有模块化高,裁剪自如、易于扩展等特点。该通讯机的使用,较好地解决了不同保护、录波装置的联网问题,从整体上大大提升了电网调度运行管理水平。     

A methodology to automatically optimize dynamic memory managers applying grammatical evolution

Modern consumer devices must execute multimedia applications that exhibit high resource utilization. In order to efficiently execute these applications, the dynamic memory subsystem needs to be optimized. This complex task can be tackled in two complementary ways: optimizing the application source code or designing custom dynamic memory management mechanisms. Currently, the first approach has been well established, and several automatic methodologies have been proposed. Regarding the second approach, software engineers often write custom dynamic memory managers from scratch, which is a difficult and error-prone work. This paper presents a novel way to automatically generate custom dynamic memory managers optimizing both performance and memory usage of the target application. The design space is pruned using grammatical evolution converging to the best dynamic memory manager implementation for the target application. Our methodology achieves important improvements (62.55% and 30.62% better on average in performance and memory usage, respectively) when its results are compared to five different general-purpose dynamic memory managers.     

一种星载IP交换机队列管理器的设计

针对星载IP交换机中硬件存储资源使用受限的情况,提出了一种适用于共享存储交换结构、存储资源占用少的队列管理器。通过添加索引的方法,使得所有的单播队列能够共享一个指针存储区。根据位图映射,将组播指针转化为多个单播指针,即可把组播操作的数据流按照单播操作方式写到相应的逻辑队列路径,达到节约存储器资源的目的。该队列管理器通过链表数据结构的头部和尾部来控制指针索引的写入和输出。最后,在Xilinx的xc6vlx130t FPGA进行了综合实现,结果显示,该方案相比基于指针复制的队列管理器,在8端口的交换机中存储器资源的使用量要节约22%以上。
