The importance of trust in projects that involve multiple project partners is widely acknowledged. This research analyzes both outcomes and antecedents of trust in inter-organizational projects. On the outcome side, the findings show that trust between project team members working on an inter-organizational project positively impacts the acquisition of external knowledge which, in turn, promotes product innovation. With respect to the antecedents of trust data reveal that a stable pool of project team members and objective project reward criteria facilitate the formation of inter-organizational trust. 相似文献

Robert E. Ployhart, recipient of the Award for Distinguished Scientific Early Career Contributions to Psychology, is cited for innovative work in examining reactions to staffing practices and efforts to enhance the acceptability of recruitment and staffing practices; for exemplary use of applied statistical models in examining multilevel effects and longitudinal hypotheses; and for leadership in promoting the use of multilevel models in selection research and in providing informative examples of such efforts. Ployhart’s conceptual models of the manner in which individual differences might be aggregated and affect outcomes at different levels of analysis than are usually evaluated in validation research have been groundbreaking. Research investigating differences in attitudes among full-time and part-time employees has a long history. Unfortunately, the empirical results have been mixed and conflicting. To resolve inconsistencies in prior research, the authors conducted 2 studies. In the 1st study, the authors developed a measure of work status congruence, which measures the degree to which employers match employee preferences for full-time or part-time status, schedule, shift, and number of hours. The authors hypothesized that a match or congruence between worker preferences and organizational staffing practices would be associated with positive employee attitudes and behaviors. In the 2nd study, the authors tested these hypotheses. The results indicate that work status congruence is positively associated with job satisfaction, organizational commitment, employee retention, as well as in-role and extra-role performance. Assigning work to human resources is an important and common task for companies with high labour intensities. It is particularly complex if the human resources have multiple skills and if their efficiencies change due to learning and depreciation of knowledge depending on the tasks they are assigned to. In this context, up to now, only little work has considered strategic targets for company skill levels. Hence, we present an optimisation model to address the problem of assigning project work to multi-skilled internal and external human resources while considering learning, depreciation of knowledge and company skill level targets. This constrained nonlinear continuous model is solved using COIN-OR's Ipopt. We assess the computation time and the impacts of problem parameters such as the shape of the learning curve, company skill level targets, depreciation of knowledge and cost parameters. Amongst other findings, our results show that faster learning of human resources leads to more specialised individuals while at the same time the whole company's knowledge is broadened. 相似文献

Overall staff attention received by patients strongly predicts inpatient unit effectiveness. The authors examined whether attention received influences relations among patient outcomes and powerful individual predictors--chronicity and premorbid competency. Data were from 22 public units serving 673 short- and long-stay patients. Unit attention rates were derived from reliable direct observations collected over 7 days. Lifetime hospitalization and functioning records provided chronicity and premorbid competency indicators. Six-month outcomes were continuous community-tenure days post-discharge. Patients with lower chronicity and higher premorbid competency achieved longer tenure at lower attention rates. As attention increased, only chronicity predicted outcomes. Staff attention explained more outcome variance (higher attention predicts better outcomes). Administrators should monitor the quantity and quality of staff-patient interactions to successfully deliver evidence-based practices.
