A Detection-Theoretic Model of Echo Inhibition.

A detection-theoretic analysis of the auditory localization of dual-impulse stimuli is described, and a model for the processing of spatial cues in the echo pulse is developed. Although for over 50 years "echo suppression" has been the topic of intense theoretical and empirical study within the hearing sciences, only a rudimentary understanding of its mechanisms has emerged. In this article, psychometric functions and results from matching studies are used in developing a model that specifies the perceived position of the echo pulse as a normal deviate, with an expectation that is a logistic function of the echo delay and a variance that depends on interaural time difference. Loss of information in the echo event is quantified as a decline in the efficiency with which the binaural system receives information from the lag impulse. 横泉水库旧坝体及黄土台地强夯处理实践

山西省横泉水库在原有遗留工程基础上进行重新建设，以往的4次施工，填兢了长400m、高17m左右的左岸坝体，填土约120万m^3，但坝体填筑质量极差，干客重和渗透系数根本无法满足设计要求。此次重新建设，决定对这部分干客重不迭设计要求且具有湿陷性的左岸旧坝体以及左岸黄土台地进行强夯处理，对坝体进行强夯处理在省内还是首次进行，在国内也比较少见，通过处理，坝体质量达到了设计要求，并且节约了投资，效果明显。     

Hemispheric contributions to nonverbal abstract reasoning and problem solving.

Hemispheric involvement in reasoning abilities has been debated for some time, and it remains unclear whether the right hemisphere's involvement in problem solving is modality specific or dependent on the type of spatial reasoning required. In the current study, 2 types of nonverbal reasoning abilities were examined, spatial reasoning and proportional reasoning, in 109 patients with cerebrovascular disease that was confined to either the right or the left hemisphere or was diffuse in nature. Results indicated that no lateralizing effects were present based on type of spatial reasoning. Findings are consistent with the suggestion that higher order cognitive processes involved in nonverbal abstraction and problem solving are not strongly lateralized to the right hemisphere but rather are more generally distributed throughout the cortex. Does social dominance generate prejudice? Integrating individual and contextual determinants of intergroup cognitions.

Social dominance orientation (SDO) has been proposed as an important variable in the explanation of prejudice. We distinguish between three conceptualizations of SDO: SDO as a personality trait (personality model), SDO as a moderator of the effects of situational variables (Person X Situation model), and SDO as a mediator of the effect of social position on prejudice (group socialization model [GSM]). Four studies (N = 1,657) looking at the relations between social positions, SDO, and prejudice in a natural setting and in a laboratory setting provide strong support for the GSM. In contrast to previous correlational findings, there is evidence of a cause (dominant social position), an effect (prejudice increases), and a mediator (SDO). Congruences and ideals in pseudoeffect algebras

This paper is devoted to congruences and ideals in pseudoeffect algebras. Let I be a normal ideal in a pseudoeffect algebra E. We show that: (1) the relation ~ _I induced by I is a congruence if and only if for every a∈E, I∩ [0,a] is upper directed; (2) the relation ~ _I induced by I is a strong congruence if and only if I is a normal weak Riesz ideal in a pseudoeffect algebra E. Moreover, we introduce a stronger concept of congruence—namely Riesz strong congruence—and we prove that, if I is a normal weak Riesz ideal in a pseudoeffect algebra E, then ~ _I is a Riesz strong congruence and, conversely, if ~ is a Riesz strong congruence, then I = [0]_~ is a normal weak Riesz ideal, and ~ _I = ~. 强潮河口桩式丁坝减冲促淤效果研究

钱塘江涌潮气势雄伟,世界闻名,但对海塘具有很大的破坏力.该文提出了一种新颖的丁坝型式——桩式丁坝,从现场观测资料对比、实体模型试验和机理分析三个方面,分析桩式丁坝的减冲促淤效果,探究丁坝护滩保塘的机理.与堆石丁坝比较,桩式丁坝具有设计合理、施工简易、坝体内无内压力、有效地减轻了局部冲刷、便于维护检修等一系列优点。桩式丁坝可广泛应用于各类河道整治、海塘保护等工程中.     

分立强杂波背景下AEW雷达双通道检测方法

针对分立强杂波容易形成虚警这一问题，结合AEW雷达这一应用背景，研究了AEW雷达双通道信号检测方法，分析了各种参数的选取及对系统性能的影响，给出了可供工程上参考的几个结论，提出了工程设计中的重要依据。     

利用改进的差分进化算法求解等圆Packing问题

等圆Packing问题属于强约束的复杂组合优化问题之一,针对其强约束特点及难点,通过改进传统的差分进化算法,提出一种等圆Packing问题的求解方法。该改进算法特点是将有效解空间加入差分进化的变异约束中,并采用随机排序机制改进差分进化的选择机制。通过多次实验,表明此算法在求解小规模等圆Packing问题上取得的效果与目前所能找到的最优值相差不到0.6%,从而验证了演化计算在求解等圆Packing问题的可行性;与此同时,演化算法具有很好的收敛性,因此在其他强约束的复杂优化问题上将有很好的应用。
