Two-level optimal output feedback stabilizer design

The paper addresses the design of two-level power system stabilizers using an optimal reduced order model whose state variables are torque angles and speeds. The reduced order model retains their physical meaning and is used to design a two-level linear feedback controller that takes into account the realities and constraints of electrical power systems. The two-level control strategy is used, and a global control signal is generated from the output variables to minimize the effect of interactions. The effectiveness of this controller is evaluated and a multimachine system is given as an example to illustrate the advantages of the proposed method. Responses of the system with a two-level scheme and an optimal reduced order scheme are included for comparative analysis.     

CAL delivery selection criteria and authoring systems

Abstract  In the past, authoring systems have been used to generate computer-assisted learning materials that have often followed the rather restrictive programmed learning format. A number of innovative ways of using recently developed systems to develop CAL packages that include a wider range of learning activities (access to data bases, simulations, interactive video, etc.) are described. Analogous to the concept of a media selection model, a computer delivery mode selection model is presented as an aid to decision making for designers. This increase in flexibility should broaden the applicability of computerassisted learning (CAL) to a wider range of educational objectives and raise the level of the cognitive emphasis in learning packages, as well as facilitate the implementation of visually appealing materials. The paper also implies a standard of acceptability for authoring systems.

基于模糊理论的非处方药的满意度评价系统

为了帮助顾客从众多对症的非处方药中选出最满意的药品,提出了开发1个基于Web的非处方药满意度评价系统。系统根据顾客提供的典型症状,采用疾病与症状相结合的选药策略,查找出所有对症的非处方药,并以药品安全性、疗效、稳定性、易用性、价格作为评价因素,根据顾客的关注角度和关注程度确定各因素权重,用模型b=W·R对对症药品进行满意度评价,按满意度高低依次推荐。经实际应用,系统推荐准确度在70%以上。     

A mathematical model for vehicle routing problem under endogenous uncertainty

In this study, a multistage stochastic programming (SP) model is presented for a variant of single-vehicle routing problem with stochastic demands from a dynamic viewpoint. It is assumed that the actual demand of a customer becomes known only when the customer is visited. This problem falls into the category of SP with endogenous uncertainty and hence, the scenario tree is decision-dependent. Therefore, nonanticipativity of decisions is ensured by conditional constraints making up a large portion of total constraints. Thus, a novel approach is proposed that considerably reduces the problem size without any effect on the solution space. Computational results on some test problems are reported.     

Hull-form optimization in calm and rough water

The paper presents a formal methodology for the hull form optimization in calm and rough water using wash waves and selected dynamic responses, respectively. Parametric hull form modeling is used to generate the variant hull forms with some of the form parameters modified, which are evaluated in the optimization scheme based on evolutionary strategies. Rankine-source panel method and strip theories are used for the hydrodynamic evaluation. The methodology is implemented in the optimization of a double-chine, planing hull form. Furthermore, a dual-stage optimization strategy is applied on a modern fast displacement ferry. The effect of the selected optimization parameters is presented and discussed.
