Investigating the Social Dimensions of Transport Disadvantage II: From Concepts to Methods through an Empirical Case Study

This article is the second of two papers that review the field of spatially sensitive social scientific research into the links between social status and transport disadvantage. The first paper undertook a comprehensive review of the social scientific and transport planning literature to mark the level of development in the field and identify conceptual and methodological issues and constraints in this field of inquiry. The present article supports the advancement of socially and geographically sensitive transport research by opportunities for the development of more sophisticated spatial analytical methodologies. The approach we present is able to account for factors not previously addressed in either social or transport planning research, in particular the temporal dimensions of transport service accessibility. The article articulates the methodology through an empirical case study of socio-spatial transport disadvantage within the Gold Coast City. The article demonstrates that there are important theoretical and practical lessons to be gained for researchers and policy makers in addressing the social dimensions of transport and infrastructure provision. Further, the article argues that an attentiveness to new ways of combining and representing social and transport data-sets can promote policy relevant empirical social inquiry. The article also contributes in a productive way to the empirical knowledge of Australia's sixth-largest metropolitan area, which is often overlooked by urban scholars.     

Analysis of polarization plane rotation characteristic in 2D photonic crystal waveguide with chiral medium by condensed node spatial network

Using the photonic band gap in photonic crystals, the fundamental waveguide structures for the light wavelength range have been developed. Based on the fine structure of these many functional devices have been proposed by analytical or numerical simulation methods and the experiments of trial manufacture. In this paper, the treatment of chiral dielectric in the Condensed Node Spatial Network for the vector potential is explained, and we show the polarization plane rotation property in air‐hole and pillar type photonic crystal waveguide structures with the chiral medium substrate. Then, we show the fundamental advantage of the air‐hole type photonic crystal waveguide structure in application to a mode converter. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 通过产业集聚的EG指数对中国各省份信息服务业的空间集聚程度进行研究,得出集聚程度比较显著.在此基础上,找到这一服务业的两个相关指标,利用产业集中度CRn判断出信息服务业主要集中于北京、广东等六个地区,然后对两指标数据进行无量纲化处理,加权求和得到新的综合指标,最后对这一新指标进行了系统聚类分析,得知这一产业主要集中在北京和广东两个地区.     

计算机辅助外科手术空间配准技术的研究

医学图像和实际手术空间的配准问题是计算机辅助外科手术技术的一个重要的研究热点,它能够帮助医生选择最佳手术路径和减小手术损伤,实现手术的方便快捷和微创,提高手术成功率。主要研究了一种基于ICP算法的计算机辅助外科手术中空间配准技术,通过获取实验模型的空间坐标信息,进行点集配准,找到最优旋转矩阵和最优平移向量。并通过仿真实验给出了模拟的配准结果,仿真试验结果表明,ICP算法配准精度高,适用于计算机辅助外科手术。     

Modeling of organism’s adaptive reaction to environmental changes

Integrated solid-state nanopore devices for third generation DNA sequencing

Third generation DNA sequencing relies on monitoring the ionic current blockage during the DNA molecule’s threading through a nanoscale pore.It is still really tough to attain the single base discrimination on a DNA strand by merely analyzing the ionic current due to speedy DNA translocation and low spatial resolution.More integrated configurations are pursued to present versatile comparative dissimilarities of the four bases by enhancing the spatial resolution within a DNA molecule translocation event,such as transverse tunneling current,local potential change,and capacitance oriented voltage resonance.In this mini review,the insight is provided into the status quo on several functionalized techniques and methodologies for DNA sequencing and furthermore concluding remark and outlook are presented.
