Kinetic analysis for effect of initial substrate concentration on growth and secondary metabolite production in cultures of Nicotiana tabacum

Suspension cultures of tobacco cells were studied using airlift and rotary-drum bioreactors. The effect of initial concentrations of a major substrate, sucrose, on the growth and production of a secondary metabolite, phenolic compounds, was investigated. The dry weights and total concentrations of the phenolic compounds increased with the initial sucrose concentration in both bioreactors. Both bioreactors were found to have the same tendency for the effect of initial sucrose concentration. The structured model, presented previously was modified by considering that sucrose was hydrolyzed to glucose and fructose by an enzymatic reaction. The previous and the new models were applied to the above two sets of experimental data obtained with two bioreactors, independently. The hydrolysis of sucrose was elucidated to contribute slightly to the overall kinetics of growth and secondary metabolite production in these cultures. Furthermore, the levels of shear damage in each bioreactor were quantitatively compared based on the death rate constant, k_i, which is one of the model constants.

Structured Latent Curve Models for the Study of Change in Multivariate Repeated Measures.

This article considers a structured latent curve model for multiple repeated measures. In a structured latent curve model, a smooth nonlinear function characterizes the mean response. A first-order Taylor polynomial taken with regard to the mean function defines elements of a restricted factor matrix that may include parameters that enter nonlinearly. Similar to factor scores, random coefficients are combined with the factor matrix to produce individual latent curves that need not follow the same form as the mean curve. Here the associations between change characteristics in multiple repeated measures are studied. A factor analysis model for covariates is included as a means of relating latent covariates to the factors characterizing change in different repeated measures. An example is provided. A novel intelligent verification platform based on a structured analysis model

An intelligent verification platform based on a structured analysis model is presented.Using an abstract model mechanism with specific signal interfaces for user callback,the unified structured analysis data,shared by the electronic system level design,functional verification,and performance evaluation,enables efficient management review,auto-generation of code,and modeling in the transaction level.We introduce the class tree,flow parameter diagram,structured flow chart,and event-driven finite state machine as structured analysis models.As a sand table to carry maps from different perspectives and levels via an engine,this highly reusable platform provides the mapping topology to search for unintended consequences and the graph theory for comprehensive coverage and smart test cases.Experimental results show that the engine generates efficient test sequences,with a sharp increase in coverage for the same vector count compared with a random test.     

规整填料在5 Mt/a常减压装置减压塔提馏段中的应用

介绍了新型规整填料Zugrid 64 X和Zupak125 Y在中国石油兰州石化分公司5 Mt/a常减压装置减压塔提馏段的工业应用情况.运行结果表明,新型规整填料具有明显的节能降耗优势,分离效果好,渣油中500 ℃以下的馏分质量分数仅为2.58%,且蒸汽用量较低[m(蒸汽)/m(渣油)为9 kg/t],操作成本低,抗堵塞性能良好.

Bayesian compressive sensing for cluster structured sparse signals

In traditional framework of compressive sensing (CS), only sparse prior on the property of signals in time or frequency domain is adopted to guarantee the exact inverse recovery. Other than sparse prior, structures on the sparse pattern of the signal have also been used as an additional prior, called model-based compressive sensing, such as clustered structure and tree structure on wavelet coefficients. In this paper, the cluster structured sparse signals are investigated. Under the framework of Bayesian compressive sensing, a hierarchical Bayesian model is employed to model both the sparse prior and cluster prior, then Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling is implemented for the inference. Unlike the state-of-the-art algorithms which are also taking into account the cluster prior, the proposed algorithm solves the inverse problem automatically—prior information on the number of clusters and the size of each cluster is unknown. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms many state-of-the-art algorithms.     

Kappa-Carrageenan, Sodium Chloride and Temperature Affect Yield and Texture of Structured Beef Rolls

Structured lean beef rolls (4–5% fat), formulated with 33% added water, 1% sodium chloride and 0.35% sodium tripolyphosphate and cooked to 63°, 73° and 83°, had low cook yields and poor texture and bind. Kappa-carrageen an (KC) added at 0.5–1% and NaCl at 2–3% increased cook yield and improved textural properties (bind, force to fracture, hardness). Rolls with 1.0% KC and 3% NaCl had the highest cook yield (154% meat weight basis) and the highest values for force to fracture and hardness. Cook yield decreased and hardness increased with increased cooking temperature. Effects of KC on yield and texture were most pronounced at the lowest NaCl level (1%) and the highest temperature (83°). KC also reduced purge of vacuum-packaged slices during refrigerated storage.     

Synthesis and Characterization of 2-monoacylglycerols from Canarium Oil (Canarium Indicum)

This paper studies synthesis and characterization of 2-monoacylglycerols (2-MAGs), generally used for structured lipid production. Synthesis used canarium oil by enzymatic reaction using immobilized lipase from Mucor miehei that has a specific activity on the sn-1 and 3 of the triacylglycerol structure. Characterization of 2-MAGs by thin layer chromatography using a standard of 2-oleoylglycerol followed by isolation and purification to determine the fatty acids composition.The highest composition of fatty acids on 2-MAGs were unsaturated fatty acids, namely oleic acid (939.8 ppm) and linoleic acid (445.5 ppm), therefore it could be used for the synthesis of structured lipid.
