This paper reports a new, highly integrated modular design approach for pulsewidth-modulation AC-AC converters based on a modular phase-bank structure. Novel high-power 3-in-1 integrated bi-directional power modules (IBPM) rated at 1200-V AC and 150 A and the 3-to-1 phase bank circuits have been successfully developed, fabricated and tested. This enables the modularity design of the multiphase converter systems and reduces the critical parasitic inductance. A theoretical analysis of the IBPM's silicon utilization for this new breed of direct power converters has been outlined. A lab prototype at medium power level has been successfully designed, implemented, and tested with good results. A nearly 460-VRMS out voltage at a 1:0.955 voltage transfer ratio, which, perhaps, is the highest performance reported so far in the literature, has been achieved by the novel two-side modulation control system. The converter-fed AC motor system is able to operate over the 0-240 Hz range with inherent regenerative capability and four-quadrant operation. An emerging selective metallization process to fabricate fine-line conductors based on drop-on-demand (DOD) ink jet printing and novel nano-particle fluid suspensions (NPFS) was studied. The suspensions consist of 1-10 nm silver or gold particulates that are homogeneously suspended in an organic carrier. A piezo-electric droplet generator driven by a bipolar voltage signal is used to dispense 50-70 μm diameter droplets traveling at 1-3 m/s before impacting a compliant polyimide substrate. The deposit/substrate composite is subsequently processed at 300°C for 15 min to allow for complete evaporation of the carrier and for sintering of the nano-particles, thereby yielding a finished circuit interconnect. Test vehicles created using this technique exhibit features as fine as 120 μm wide and 1 μm thick with resistivities on the order of 3.5×10-5 Ωcm. The circuitry performed well under environmental conditioning. As expected, repeatability of circuitry fabrication showed sensitivity to the generation of steady, satellite-free droplets. While the current definition of TCP friendliness has enabled a wide variety of traffic control protocols other than TCP, it still considerably restricts the design space of TCP-friendly traffic control protocols. For example, some multimedia streaming applications prefer a smooth sending rate on a time scale of tens of seconds, however, a UDP flow maintaining such a long smoothness time scale is naturally not TCP friendly by the current definition. In this paper, we propose an innovative method to relatively compare the degrees of TCP friendliness of different traffic control protocols, and use it to define a new class of TCP friendliness definitions, called stochastic TCP friendliness (STF). STF greatly expands the design space of TCP-friendly traffic control protocols, while still effectively maintaining the desired fairness of the Internet. To demonstrate the expanded design space, we also develop a new congestion control protocol, called TCP-friendly CBR-Like Rate Control (TFCBR), for multimedia streaming applications which do not require a high sending rate but prefer a smooth sending rate on a time scale of tens of seconds. Mesoporous sulfated Al2O3–ZrO2 (MSAZ) catalysts with large surface areas and pore volumes after calcination at high temperature (650 °C) and with higher
Al2O3 content than 20wt% were successfully prepared from a template of block copolymer (P84). The MSAZ catalysts were characterized
by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), 27Al magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG–DTG), temperature-programmed
desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD) and infrared spectra (IR) of adsorbed pyridine. It is shown that the resulting mesostructured sulfated Al2O3–ZrO2 samples have a well-developed textural mesoporosity. The number of acid sites present on MSAZ catalysts is higher than that

An approach to the analysis of 55 possible nonconjugated positional isomers of octadecadienoic acid is described and tested
with mixtures of individual synthetic methyl esters. In the first example, by ozonolysis a sevencomponent mixture consisting
ofcis,cis 5,12-, 6,10-, 6,11-, 6,12-, 7,12-, 8,12-, and 9,12-octadecadienoates was converted to aldehydes, aldehyde-esters and dialdehydes.
These fragments were separated on a 50 m×0.2 mm free fatty acid phase (FFAP) vitreous silica capillary column. Equations for
an arbitrarily restricted 12×15 matrix of linear simultaneous equations and a computer solution of the matrix provided the
composition of the initial methyl octadecadienoate mixture. The power and significance of this method became apparent with
the observation that only two of the seven isomers in the known mixture were resolved as single peaks by state-of-the-art
capillary gas chromatography, but all seven were identified and estimated with acceptable error by the ozonolysis-capillary
gas chromatography-computer procedure. In a generalized approach to the analysis of the 55 possible nonconjugated isomers,
a computer program selects the appropriate matrix of linear simultaneous equations based on the aldehyde data supplied by
the analyst. Twenty of 21 combinations of seven isomeric esters taken five at a time have been analyzed to assess the efficiency
of the method. To illustrate applicability at this stage of development, the method has been used to analyze the diene products
of the hydrazine reduction of γ-linolenic acid and the diene products from the biological desaturation of isomeric monoenes.
The possibility of distinguishing geometric and positional isomers of 18∶2 has been opened by the observed separation ofcis-andtrans-unsaturated aldehydes and aldehyde-esters.

Tin oxide (SnO2) dissolves in cryolite–alumina melts forming tetravalent tin species, but under reducing conditions it is reduced to divalent tin and, further, to metallic tin. Freezing point depression data for SnF2 and SnO in molten cryolite (Na3AlF6) corresponded to the formation of one and two new particles, respectively. By anodic dissolution of tin into cryolite-alumina melts divalent as well as tetravalent tin was formed, depending on current density and composition.
