介绍了提交到第74届IWTO技术与标准委员会的主要论文,本届年会组织的主要论坛和研讨会以及这些论坛和研讨会涉及的部分内容.从世界主要纺织纤维的消费份额中可以看出,羊毛的份额有持续下降的趋势,形势严峻.参会的各方人士包括科研、企业、产品设计及市场营销人员都纷纷发表了各自的看法,中心议题为如何使世界毛纺织业得到振兴和发展.     

Is Modeling of Freshman Engineering Success Different from Modeling of Non‐Engineering Success?

The engineering community has recognized the need for a higher retention rate in freshman engineering. If we are to increase the freshman retention rate, we need to better understand the characteristics of academic success for engineering students. One approach is to compare academic performance of engineering students to that of non‐engineering students. This study explores the differences in predicting academic success (defined as the first year GPA) for freshman engineering students compared to three non‐engineering student sectors (Pre‐Med, STEM, and non‐STEM disciplines) within a university. Academic success is predicted with pre‐college variables from the UCLA/CIRP survey using factor analysis and regression analysis. Except for the factor related to the high school GPA and rank, the predictors for each student sector were discipline specific. Predictors unique to the engineering sector included the factors related to quantitative skills (ACT Math and Science test scores and placement test scores) and confidence in quantitative skills.     

《专用汽车》课程研究型教学尝试

针对华南农业大学工程学院车辆工程专业的现状,在承担《专用汽车》课程过程中进行研究性教学尝试。在考试方法、教学设计与实施等方面进行探索。以课程设计取代传统的考试方式,通过组织学生做综述报告、专题教学、科研与教学相结合等方式进行研究性教学尝试。结果表明,研究型教学对培养学生能力很有帮助。     

90后新生学风建设新思考

90后渐渐成为大学里的主角,而新生又是大学的特殊群体,在新生中建设学风,要找准症结所在,对症下药,才会取得事半功倍的效果。本文针对90后新生的特点,提出以点带面、教育新格局,加强教改、教风建设来促进学风建设的观点。

基于文献阅读研讨的研究生专业课程教学评价方法

研究生文献阅读研讨课是上海大学研究生专业课程改革的一次有益尝试,该课程在教学内容和教学方式上与传统的教师主导型课堂教学模式有较大差异,文章在介绍研究生文献阅读研讨课教学特点的基础上,提出一种以文献阅读和研讨为主的研究生专业课程,通过分析近三年计算机学院的评估结果,提出改进措施。     

采用思维导图进行“自动控制原理”的研讨式教学

本文针对“自动控制原理”课程教学中线性系统稳定性的教学内容,探讨了采用思维导图引导学生开展研讨式教学的设计思想和实施步骤。教学实践表明,基于思维导图的研讨式教学方法有助于培养学生的思维能力和创新能力,提高学习的积极性和主动性,并加深对相关概念和基本原理的理解。     

“数字电子技术”研讨型课程探索

本文提出将"数字电子技术"课程作为研讨型课程开设的思路,将课程中仿真软件的教学部分以研讨课的形式开设,并对研讨型课程的优势和课程开设的关键问题进行了分析,提出教师的引导和研讨模块的设计是研讨课程成功的关键因素;本文还从教学进度安排和教学过程设计及成绩考核模式等方面进行了教学实践,总结了实践效果,并提出将实验教学和课程设计进行研讨的新思路。     

Poetry I: Teaching verse with CAI

The teaching of literature through CAI raises problems of both a linguistic and instructional nature; student involvement and creativity in studying literature, and especially poetry, is difficult to build into a computer-based lesson. We have confronted these difficulties in the lessonPoetry I, which introduces undergraduates to basic concepts of poetic verse in a design using screen display, speech synthesis, and verse processing to maximize interactivity and student involvement.The lesson contains instructional modules which include the student's composition of a limerick. Computational processing of the limerick's text enables the program to offer guidance as the student composes and revises the verse and gains first-hand experience with metrical language. The significant problems inherent in processing verse are addressed by adapting Digital Equipment Corporation's DECTalk speech synthesizer as an engine converting natural language verse text into accessible strings of phonemic symbols. Although the verse processor cannot scan verse, it can interpret DECTalk's symbols reliably enough to successfully stimulate students' thinking about their verse compositions.Preliminary responses to the program have been favorable and demonstrate its effectiveness in involving students more deeply in learning about poetic verse. This suggests that the techniques of verse processing prototyped inPoetry I might be usefully extended to other types of verse and levels of study.W.
