Spectral slope (S), describing the exponential decrease of the absorption spectrum over a given wavelength range, is an important parameter in the study of of chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) dynamics, and also an essential input parameter in remote sensing models. Furthermore, S is often used as a proxy for CDOM composition, including the ratio of fulvic to humic acids and molecular weight. The relative broad range in S values reported in the literature can be explained by the different spectral ranges and fitting methods used. A single exponential model is used to fit the S values for 17 investigations involving 458 samples in Lake Taihu from January to October in 2004. The average S value was 15.18 ± 1.39 μm−1 for the range of 280–500 nm, which fell within the range reported in the literature. The frequency distribution of S value basically obeyed a normal distribution. Significant differences in S values between summer and other seasons showed that phytoplankton degradation was one of the important sources of CDOM in summer, whereas CDOM mainly came from the river input in other seasons. Furthermore, the estimated S value decreased with increasing wavelength range used in regression. The maximum and minimum values derived from the regression were 17.89 ± 1.25 μm−1 and 13.62 ± 2.11 μm−1 for the wavelength ranges of 280–380 nm and 400–500 nm, respectively, a decrease of 23.9%. S values significantly decreased with the increase of CDOM absorption coefficients. CDOM absorption coefficients could be more appropriately estimated from exponential model introducing the variation of S with absorption coefficients, making them useful for a remote sensing bio-optical model of Lake Taihu. DOC-specific absorption coefficient a*(λ) and the parameter M describing molecular size of the humic molecules could also be used as a proxy for the sources and types of CDOM. A general relationship was found between S and a*(λ), and M values. Numerous attempts have been undertaken to apply the spectral subtraction method to cancel noise perturbations but these efforts have yet to produce an algorithm that is able to adapt well to the environmental changes in the perturbations. In addition, the variants of the spectral subtraction method so far proposed in the literature would require a non-voice activity detector (NVAD), for a single microphone system, to store the perturbation. This is used as an estimate for the reference signal. Inaccuracy in the perturbation estimates causes the cleaned speech to be corrupted by musical artifacts, which is unacceptable. Post processing of signals corrupted by the musical artifacts is very costly. This paper provides an alternative approach that employs associative memory for speech enhancement. Extensive comparison is made using the soft computing approaches for noise cancellation based on associative memories. A set of stereo microphones captures the corrupted speech in a vehicle and is used to point to the closest associative memory location. The Wiener filter approach is used to cancel the noise. The paper discusses novel examples of the associative memories using the cerebellum model for noise modeling. Experimental results show the potential of these novel soft computing architectures in generating and adapting the required Weiner filters to cancel perturbation even at signal to noise ratio (SNR) of less than −13 dB. 相似文献

The application of the fractional step projection method recently proposed by Guermond and Quartapelle to the numerical approximation of unsteady Navier–Stokes solutions by means of a spectral/p element method is considered. In particular we illustrate the second-order pressure correction technique and evaluate its accuracy properties in some test cases. Stability with respect to the compatibility condition between the approximation spaces for velocity and pressure is also addressed. The high (spectral) accuracy in space and the second-order accuracy in time are verified by two simple test cases with analytical solution. Zinc telluride thin films have been grown at room temperature and higher temperature substrates by thermal evaporation technique
in a vacuum of 10-6 torr. A main peak in the photocurrent is observed at 781 nm (1.58 eV) with two lower amplitude peaks on the lower wavelength
side and one on higher wavelength side. The evaluated thermal activation energy is found to correspond well with the main
spectral peak. From these studies it can be inferred that temperatures up to 453 K is still in the extrinsic conductivity
region of the studied ZnTe thin films.

A conjugate filter oscillation reduction scheme originally developed for compressible flows and in general for hyperbolic conservation laws is applied to the solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation with periodic boundary conditions. Conjugate low-pass and high-pass filters are constructed by using a local spectral method, the discrete singular convolution algorithm. A spectral-like resolution, i.e., near the machine precision obtained at a sampling rate close to the Nyquist limit (2 points per wavelength), is achieved in treating a smooth initial value problem which admits an exact solution.
