随着物联网知识的普及,以及其技术的广泛推广应用,物联网被越来越多的人所关注。本文介绍了物联网及其关键技术RFID,并结合RFID在物联网的实际应用,并对其未来的发展作出了展望。     

A social interaction system based on cloud computing for mobile video telephony

As the use of smartphones become popular,people heavily depend on smartphone applications to deal with their social activities.For this reason,traditional message texting between mobile applications does not fulfill the versatile requirements of social networking.Many mobile applications use multimodality to deliver multimedia messages including sticker,voice and photo message,video call,and snap movie to enhance the communicative capability.However,without face-to-face interaction,people may fail to detect the other side’s non-verbal social behavior such as fine-grain facial expressions,body movements,or hand gesture.During social interaction,non-verbal behavior conveys information about the involved individuals and help the speakers express their social emotion in an implicit way.It is so important for real-world face-to-face interaction but is often blocked on the mobile telephony.To cope with this problem,we propose an afective computing model to assist the representation of social emotion and then help the progress of social interaction on the mobile telephony.In this model,for the purpose of real-time afective analysis,we delegate the computing loading to the cloud side service and enhance the system’s scalability and availability.The result of this experiment approves the feasibility of our system design for the applications of social intelligent.Also,the system provides a research framework of the social intelligent system on the mobile telephony.

基于信息技术的课程整合作为小学信息技术教学的发展方向之一,越来越受到信息技术科任老师的关注。本文对基于网络环境的信息技术课程整合优势、网络环境在课程整合中的利用策略、网络环境下的信息技术课程整合的核心活动等方面进行了分析,探讨了如何利用网络技术促进信息技术课与其它学科的整合。     

Business intelligence approach to supporting strategy-making of ISP service management

The recent deregulation of telecommunication industry by the Taiwanese government has brought about the acute competition for Internet Service Providers (ISP). Taiwan’s ISP industry is characterized by the heavy pressure for raising revenue after hefty capital investments of last decade and the lack of knowledge to develop competitive strategies. To attract subscribers, all ISP dealers are making an all-out effort to improve their service management. This study proposes a Business Intelligence process for ISP dealers in Taiwan to assist management in developing effective service management strategies. We explore the customers’ usage characteristics and preference knowledge through applying the attribute-oriented induction (AOI) method on IP traffic data of users. Using the self-organizing map (SOM) method, we are able to divide customers into clusters with different usage behavior patterns. We then apply RFM modeling to calibrate customers’ value of each cluster, which will enable the management to develop direct and effective marketing strategies. For network resource management, this research mines the facility utilization over various administrative districts of the region, which could assist management in planning for effective network facilities investment. With actual data from one major ISP, we develop a BI decision support system with visual presentation, which is well received by its management staff.     

Is compulsive internet use related to sensitivity to reward and punishment,and impulsivity?

Aim of the present study was to examine whether the personality correlates sensitivity to reward and to punishment, and impulsivity predict compulsive internet use (CIU). Furthermore, the predictive value of these personality correlates was compared to the predictive value of factors relating to psychosocial wellbeing. The results showed that particularly rash spontaneous impulsivity predicts CIU and that this personality factor is more important than psychosocial wellbeing factors. Sensitivity to reward, which is supposed to play a role in craving processes associated with substance abuse and eating disorders, could not be related to CIU. The data suggest that internet users who are characterized by an impulsive personality feature, are less able to control their use of the internet, which makes them more vulnerable to develop CIU.

A new framework for understanding educational digital library use: re-examining digital divides in U.S. schools

Despite their decade of deployment, educational digital libraries have not achieved sustained use in elementary and secondary schools in the United States. Barriers to accessing the Internet and computers have been widely targeted by myriad initiatives, but efforts aimed at bridging this first-level “digital divide” have not led to increased use of the Internet and digital library resources in U.S. classrooms. In fact, such programs have revealed additional divides that affect educators’ use. This paper examines the additional digital divide levels and proposes a new framework for understanding technology innovation in schools that can improve development and outreach approaches by digital library developers.     

Learning about psychological professions with the world-wide web

Abstract Teaching with the world-wide web is becoming a common practice in modern education. The web serves two main interrelated functions, namely, retrieval and publication of information. To enhance learning and motivation, the student-as-teacher (SAT) principle was adopted in the study reported in this paper. Students were given the role of teacher of high school students and the general public about the subject matter they learned on a course. To achieve this goal, the students created educational web sites featuring two selected psychological professions. Being the major assignment for the course, the web sites created by students received higher scores than the assignments of their peers who learned the same materials through traditional pedagogical approaches. Course evaluation confirmed that the web implementation of the SAT principle enhanced learning, increased motivation and provided a transfer-able skill, without compromising accomplishment of major course goals.     

Vehicle Teleoperation Interfaces

Despite advances in autonomy, there will always be a need for human involvement in vehicle teleoperation. In particular, tasks such as exploration, reconnaissance and surveillance will continue to require human supervision, if not guidance and direct control. Thus, it is critical that the operator interface be as efficient and as capable as possible. In this paper, we provide an overview of vehicle teleoperation and present a summary of interfaces currently in use.
