Although hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs) are becoming widespread across Japan and are essential for the operation of fuel cell vehicles, they present potential hazards. A large number of accidents such as explosions or fires have been reported, rendering it necessary to conduct a number of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for HRSs. Current safety codes and technical standards related to Japanese HRSs have been established based on the results of a qualitative risk assessment and quantitative effectiveness validation of safety measures over ten years ago. In the last decade, there has been much development in the technologies of the components or facilities used in domestic HRSs and much operational experience as well as knowledge to use hydrogen in HRSs safely have been gained through years of commercial operation. The purpose of the present study is to conduct a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) of the latest HRS model representing Japanese HRSs with the most current information and to identify the most significant scenarios that pose the greatest risks to the physical surroundings in the HRS model. The results of the QRA show that the risk contours of 10?3 and 10?4 per year were confined within the HRS boundaries, whereas the risk contours of 10?5 and 10?6 per year are still present outside the HRS. Comparing the breakdown of the individual risks (IRs) at the risk ranking points, we conclude that the risk of jet fire demonstrates the highest contribution to the risks at all of the risk ranking points and outside the station. To reduce these risks and confine the risk contour of 10?6 per year within the HRS boundaries, it is necessary to consider risk mitigation measures for jet fires.  相似文献

A simple and successful design method that yields a wideband and compact antenna without a ground plane is proposed. The antenna, referred to as the folded loop antenna, can, with the right parameters, achieve wideband characteristics. Calculated and measured results agree well and more than 50% bandwidth (return loss /spl les/-10 dB) is obtained.  相似文献

STUDY DESIGN: The present study analyzed the restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns of alpha 2(XI) collagen, bone morphogenetic protein-2, alkaline phosphatase, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha genes in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. This study investigates the genetic polymorphism of bone-induced factors in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament and compares it with healthy control subjects. OBJECTIVES: To clarify the genetic markers linked to ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament is a genetic disease associated with abnormal calcium metabolism involving the posterior longitudinal ligament. Previous genetic studies have not identified the pathologic mechanism of ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. Histopathologic studies of ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament and the animal model, the spinal hyperostotic mouse, have revealed an increase in Type XI collagen and bone morphogenetic protein-2 expression. METHODS: Eighteen Japanese patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament and 51 healthy, unrelated control subjects were investigated for the restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns of COL11A2, bone morphogenetic protein-2, alkaline phosphatase, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, genes with various restriction endonucleases. RESULTS: The gene frequencies of COL11A2 obtained with BamHl (10.0 kb fragment) and HindIII (19.0 kb fragment) observed in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament were higher compared with control subjects (0.43 and 0.14, respectively). These differences were statistically significant (BamHl P = 0.018; Hindlll P = 0.046). Two new restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns were detected of the bone morphogenetic protein-2 gene with Mspl and Taql and one already known restriction fragment length polymorphism pattern of the tumor necrosis factor-alpha gene with Ncol. However, they were not significantly different from the control subjects. CONCLUSIONS: Seven restriction fragment length polymorphisms of COL11A2 gene were identified. Two of them (BamHl, 10.0/10.0 kb genotype; HindIII, 19.0/19.0 kb genotype) were significantly different in patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament.  相似文献

Homo- and copolyesters, containing 2,5-linked tetrahydropyran rings in their backbones, were prepared by cationic ring-opening polymerization of bicyclic lactones, 2,6-dioxabicyclo [2.2.2] octan-3-one ( 1 ), and its 4-methoxy-carbonyl and 4-methoxy-carbonyl and 4-benzyloxycarbonyl derivatives ( 3 and 4 ). Copolyesters, having pendant carboxyl groups, were derived from the copolymers containing 4 as one of the comonomers by the catalytic hydrogenolysis of the pendant benzyloxy–carbonyl groups. Copolyesters, containing both 2,5-linked and 2,6-linked tetrahydropyran rings in the main chains, were obtained by the copolymerization of 1 with 6,8-dioxabicyclo [3.2.1] octan-7-one ( 13 ), which is a structural isomer of 1 . Spontaneous hydrolytic degradability of these polyesters was investigated in a phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.5) at 27°C. The degradability of the polyesters markedly depended on the molecular structure: hydrophobic pendant groups retarded the hydrolytic degradation, whereas hydrophilic pendant groups accelerated it. In particular, a small amount of pendant carboxyl groups significantly enhanced the hydrolytic degradability of the copolyesters from 1 . Polyesters, containing 2,6-linked tetrahydropyran rings in their backbones, underwent hydrolytic degradation more readily than those entirely consisting of 2,5-linked tetrahydropyran rings. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A low-power wordline voltage generating system is developed for low-voltage flash memories. The limit for the stand-by current including the operation current for the band-gap reference and the stand-by wordline voltage generator is discussed. The system was implemented on a 1.8-V 32-Mb flash memory fabricated with a 0.25-μm flash memory process and achieved with very low stand-by current of 2 μA typically, and high operating frequency of 25 MHz in read operation at 1.8 V. Combining the knowledge-based processing with image processing is considered a key issue in the future of visual inspection of complex patterns such as multilayered semiconductor wafers. However, present technology restricts this combination, mainly because of the exhaustively long time usually required for each type of processing. To cope with this situation, a unique knowledge-directed image processing method is proposed, in which every image processing step is controlled in real time by parametric knowledge driven by design patterns. The resulting structure of the image processor is a pipeline, in which each piece of knowledge is embodied as a combination of a hardware processing unit and control unit. In this paper the types of knowledge and their implementation are explained, and an inspection machine for logic IC wafers based on this pipelined knowledgedirected image processing is introduced.  相似文献

A role for Fcgamma receptor in the pathophysiology of thrombosis in APS has been hypothesized. The polymorphism of this receptor, FcgammaRIIA H/R131, is associated with the binding affinity for human IgG2 (i.e. FcgammaRIIA-H131 isoform has a higher affinity than FcgammaRIIA-R131). Since anti-beta2 glycoprotein I antibodies (anti beta2GPI), which play a major pathogenic role in APS, show IgG2 dominant distribution, we investigated the prevalence of receptor isoforms in patients with antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) by a PCR-RFLP method. We studied 100 Caucasian patients with aPL (57 primary APS, 32 secondary APS to SLE and 11 other diseases with aPL) and 41 healthy controls. H131/H131, H131/R131 and R131/R131 genotypes were found in 21 (21%), 50 (50%) and 29 (29%) in the patient group, and 9 (22%), 23 (56%) and 9 (22%) in control group, respectively. Thus there was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of each genotype in these groups. None of the clinical manifestations of primary APS (arterial/venous thrombosis, recurrent pregnancy loss and thrombocytopenia) was significantly correlated with any FcgammaRIIA genotype. In conclusion, FcgammaRIIA polymorphism did not correlate with the manifestations of APS, and FcgammaRIIA genotype is not a genetic marker of APS.  相似文献

High degree posterior rotational osteotomy was performed on 31 hips with extensive osteonecrosis that were outside of Sugioka's indication. Among them, 18 hips of 13 patients were reviewed at 24 to 94 months (mean, 42 months). The remaining 13 hips were excluded because the followup was less than 2 years. All hips had less than 1/3 of the posterior area intact preoperatively, which is out of the indication for traditional anterior rotational osteotomy. The posterior rotation applied to the femoral head was 130 degrees to 180 degrees (mean, 138 degrees ). Furthermore, 10 degrees to 25 degrees of intentional varus position was added to the rotation (mean, 15.8 degrees). The preoperative intact articular surface of the loaded portion of the femoral head was 0% to 40% (mean, 6.9%) on anteroposterior radiograph, and it was extended postoperatively to a mean of 80.3% (range, 53%-100%). Collapse was prevented in 17 hips that have remained pain free. The remaining 1 hip sustained secondary collapse and joint narrowing. Mean flexion was 105 degrees and abduction was 20 degrees. Postoperative angiography of 9 hips and bony scintigraphy of 17 hips indicated no findings implying impairment of blood supply. Despite a relatively short term experience, it is concluded that this technique was effective in the treatment of large necrotic lesions, especially for young patients.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Late potentials (LPs) after myocardial infarction identify the risk of arrhythmic events and sudden death, and the absence of anterograde flow in the infarct-causing occluded coronary artery frequently is associated with LPs on signal-averaged electrocardiography. The present study was designed to clarify the influence of revascularization of the infarct artery on the LPs in the late course after myocardial infarction. METHODS: We studied 21 patients after myocardial infarction with positive LPs who had at least one occluded infarct coronary artery. We investigated the LPs on signal-averaged electrocardiograms on the day of elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and 1 week after CABG. RESULTS: There were 25 infarct arteries in the study patients, 13 of which were grafted. The positive LPs disappeared soon after CABG in 13 patients, 10 of whom had grafts to all of the infarct arteries. The LPs persisted in 8, who received no graft to the infarct artery. One week after CABG, the LPs were still present in 4, all of whom had no graft to the infarct right coronary artery. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with positive LPs late after myocardial infarction, grafting to the infarct artery eliminated the LPs soon after CABG.  相似文献
