ABSTRACT

In order to prevent the emission of SOx, with the flue gas, certain amount of the sulphur of the coal can be retained by adding an adequate amount of lime in the combustion chamber. In this study, two series of experiments were conducted by adding lime at the molar ratios of CaO/S = 0·5 to 2·0 using Ankara-Beypazan lignites, which have around 5 % sulphur content as received form. In one of the series lime was added directly in to the lump coal, and in the other, coal was briquetted together with lime using molasses as binder. It was observed from the experimental results that the increase in the lime ratio leads to an increase in the retained sulphur percentage while it leads to a considerable decrease in thermal efficiency. In order to retain 50 % of sulphur, it was necessary to add lime into lump coal at a CaO/S molar ratio of at least 1,1. This minimum ratio was 0·70 for briquetted coal. When lime was added at these ratios, the thermal efficiencies in the first case dropped to as low as 82 % and to 92 % in the second.  相似文献

In this study, a decision support system (DSS) based on the interactive use of location models and geographical information systems (GIS) was developed to determine the optimal positions for air defence weapons and radars. In the location model, the fire units are considered as the facilities to be located and the possible approach routes of air vehicles are treated as demand points. Considering the probability that fire by the units will miss the targets, the objective of the problem is to determine the positions that provide coverage of the approach routes of the maximum number of weapons while considering the military principles regarding the tactical use and deployment of units. In comparison with the conventional method, the proposed methodology presents a more reliable, faster, and more efficient solution. On the other hand, owing to the DSS, a battery commander who is responsible for air defence becomes capable of determining the optimal weapon and radar positions, among the alternative ones he has identified, that cover the possible approach routes maximally. Additionally, he attains the capability of making such decisions in a very short time without going to the field over which he will perform the defence and hence without being subject to enemy threats. In the decision support system, the digital elevation model is analysed using Map Objects 2.0, the mathematical model is solved using LINGO 4.0 optimization software, and the user interface and data transfer are supported by Visual Basic 6.0.  相似文献

This study proposes to use genetic algorithms for defining the topic boundaries in search of engine transaction logs. Users are interested in multiple topics during a search session, and genetic algorithms are used in this study to determine whether a search engine user has changed topics during a session. Sample data logs from FAST and Excite search engines were analyzed. The findings show that genetic algorithms are fairly successful in identifying topic continuations and shifts in search engine transaction logs.  相似文献

The structure and magnetic properties of Ce3−xGdxCo11B4 borides have been studied by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), magnetization and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements. X-ray analysis reveals that the compounds crystallize in the hexagonal Ce3Co11B4-type structure with P6/mmm space group. The substitution of Gd for Ce leads to an increase of the unit-cell parameter a and the unit-cell volume V, while the unit-cell parameter c decreases linearly. Magnetic measurements indicate that all samples are ordered magnetically below the Curie temperature. The Curie temperatures increase as Ce is substituted by Gd. The saturation magnetization at 4 K decreases upon the Gd substitution up to x = 1, and then increases.  相似文献

We developed a partial equilibrium model in which intra-industry trade arises as a result of utility maximization of consumers and profit maximization of firms. The driving force for intra-industry trade is non-homothetic preferences of consumers. We utilized a vertical differentiation framework, in which consumers have the same tastes for quality but different income levels determining their non-homogeneous choices. All firms in all countries have access to the same production technology, and there are no differences in factor endowments. Intra-industry trade arises as a result of each firm specializing on a certain segment of the market in all countries. We solved the model numerically for a two-country two-firm setup. In this setup, firms choose their product quality level and their price by maximizing their profits in a two-stage optimization problem. They also decide whether to export to the foreign market or to concentrate only on the domestic market in a standard two-by-two game. With introduction of non-zero transportation costs, trade volumes in both directions decrease. Transportation costs are shared between consumers and firms according to the marginal demand in the domestic versus in the foreign country. This model supports Krugman’s home market effect: In case of non-zero transportation costs, firms want to locate their production site in the country where there is higher marginal demand for their product.  相似文献

The superconducting, structural and mechanical properties of MgB2 bulk samples have been studied as a function of precursor B powder particle size by means of AC susceptibility, XRD and microhardness measurements, respectively. The in situ processed MgB2 samples have been prepared by means of conventional solid state reaction method with magnesium powder (99.8 %, 325 mesh) and four different types of boron powders (95.2, >95, 91.9 and 86.7 %) from two sources, Pavezyum and Sigma Aldrich. The XRD measurements showed that the diffraction peaks for our samples belong to the main phase of the MgB2 diffraction patterns. The highest critical temperature T c = 37.7 K was achieved for the MgB2 sample which was fabricated by using >95 % purity amorphous boron. Microhardness measurements were performed to investigate the mechanical properties. Load independent hardness, Vickers microhardness, Young’s modulus, fracture toughness, and yield strength values were calculated separately for all samples. The results were analyzed by using the Meyer’s law, proportional sample resistance model, elastic–plastic deformation model, Hays Kendall approach, and indentation induced cracking (IIC) model. It was found that the IIC model is the most successful model to describe the mechanical properties of our samples.  相似文献

An experimental study of induced-current electrical impedance tomography verifies that image quality is enhanced by employing six rather than three induction coils by increasing the number of independent measurements. However, with an increasing number of coils, the inverse problem becomes more sensitive to measurement noise. Using 16 electrodes to measure surface voltages, it is possible to collect 6×15=90 independent measurements. For comparison purposes, images of two-dimensional conductivity perturbations are reconstructed by using the data for three and six coils with the truncated pseudoinverse algorithm. By searching for the optimal truncation index that minimizes the noise error plus the resolution error, the signal-to-noise ratio of the data acquisition system was established as 58 db. Images obtained with this six-coil system reveal the sizes and locations of the conductivity perturbations. This system also provides images within the central region of the object space, a capability not achieved in previous experimental studies using only three circular coils. Nevertheless, the three-coil system can identify the conductivity perturbations near the periphery. The effects of the amount of hexylbenzene additive (C12H18) on the structural, thermal, and magnetic properties of MgB2 superconductor are examined in this study. Pure and hexylbenzene-doped MgB2 bulk samples were produced with in situ solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction patterns of MgB2 doped with MgB2 and hexylbenzene at different ratios were determined to have MgB2 as the main phase and consisted of a small amount of MgO. Pure and different ratios of hexylbenzene-doped Mg and B starting powders were heat-treated by a differential scanning calorimeter between room temperature and 800 °C. It was determined from the differential scanning calorimetry curves obtained that the first exothermic peak pointed the MgB2 phase emerging with a solid–solid (Mg–B) reaction, and this temperature shifted towards the low temperatures as the hexylbenzene addition rates increased. It was observed that there was dependency to the applied field in all samples from the ac susceptibility measurements as a function of the temperature in pure and hexylbenzene-doped MgB2 superconductor materials, and shift towards the lower temperatures in T c, superconducting transition temperature, with increasing content. It was observed that the changes occurred in in-phase (\(\chi ^{\prime })\) and out-off-phase (\(\chi ^{\prime \prime }\)) components of ac susceptibility both weakened the MgB2 phase structure of hexylbenzene content and, as a result of this, led to changes in the pinning mechanism.  相似文献
