This paper presents an efficient method which provides the optimal generation mix and the optimal generation construction process. The approximation method in which the dynamic programming technique and gradient method are combined is applied to determine the optimal generation mix with hydropower generation technologies. The successive approximations dynamic programming (SADP) technique, which is very suitable for high-dimensional multistage decision process problems, is used for obtaining the optimal generation construction process. The effectiveness and feasibility of the developed technique are demonstrated on a practical power system model which has five types of generation technologies including a hydropower generation technology.  相似文献

Nitric oxide (NO), generated by inducible NO synthase (iNOS) in migrating macrophages, is increased in glomerulonephritis. This study investigates the effect of NO inhibition on rat nephrotoxic nephritis (NTN) to clarify the role of NO production in glomerular damage. NTN was induced in Sprague Dawley rats by an injection of an anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) antibody. Urinary nitrite excretion and nitrite release from kidney slices (5.47 +/- 1.19 versus 2.15 +/- 0.73 nmol/mg protein, NTN versus Control, P < 0.05) were increased in NTN on day 2. Glomerular macrophage infiltration and intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-1 expression increased from day 2. iNOS expression was increased in interstitial macrophages. Glomerular endothelial cell NOS (ecNOS) expression evaluated by counting immunogold particles along GBM was suppressed (0.06 +/- 0.02 versus 0.35 +/- 0.04 gold/micron GBM, P < 0.0001). Glomerular damage developed progressively. NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME), which inhibits both iNOS and ecNOS and aminoguanidine (AG), a relatively selective inhibitor for iNOS, equally suppressed nitrite in urine and renal tissue. Glomerular ICAM-1 expression and macrophage infiltration were reduced by L-NAME, but not by AG. Expression of ecNOS was significantly increased by L-NAME (0.91 +/- 0.08, P < 0.0001 versus NTN), but slightly by AG (0.18 +/- 0.04). AG significantly and L-NAME slightly attenuated the glomerular damage at day 4. In conclusion, suppression of iNOS prevents glomerular damage in the early stage of NTN. Treatment by L-NAME reduces macrophage infiltration by suppression of ICAM-1 expression, which may be explained by an increase in ecNOS expression.  相似文献

Hyaluronic acid (HA), which is known to play an important role in wound healing, was incorporated in an artificial skin material and studied for its potential to create a wound bed which would support a skin graft. Collagen sponge based artificial skin was soaked in 0.3% HA in phosphate buffered saline and grafted onto skin defects in rats. Control grafts were soaked in normal saline solution. HA incorporated implants and control implants were simultaneously grafted onto wounds made on either side of the spine. To examine the effect of HA incorporation, the percentage area of cellular tuft infiltration and the number of capillaries present in the graft matrix were evaluated at 7 and 14 days after the operation. At postoperative day 7, there was a statistically significant difference in the number of capillaries in the matrix of the experimental versus the control implants. There was no difference in the percentage area of cellular tuft infiltration. At postoperative day 14, all implants exhibited better ingrowth of granulation tissue than at day 7. The differences between the experimental and control implants were statistically significant with respect to both the percentage area of cellular tuft infiltration and the number of capillaries. It is therefore concluded that in artificial skin HA incorporation accelerates the ingrowth of granulation tissue, making a more suitable graft bed.  相似文献

The electrode characteristics of perovskite-type oxides, La0.6Sr0.4CoO3 and La0.6Sr0.4MnO3, on ceria-based oxide and stabilized zirconia were analysed by the a.c. impedance method. The ionic conductivities of the electrolyte and electrode conductivities from the a.c. impedance analysis agreed with those obtained from the current interruption and d.c. four-probe methods. Two semicircles from the charge transfer and diffusion processes appeared as the electrode resistance. The relative contribution of these two processes to the overall electrode resistance strongly depended on the microstructure of the electrode. The electrode microstructure could be controlled by the dispersion medium used for the electrode slurry. The La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 electrode coated with n-butyl acetate slurry exhibited the smallest electrode resistance.  相似文献

New small‐scale dispersed generation systems, such as fuel cells and micro gas turbines, have made remarkable advances lately and they will be applied practically in the near future. Although a large number of researches on the introduction of small‐scale dispersed generation systems have been carried out, only a small number of small‐scale dispersed generation systems are considered in these researches. Therefore, little is known about problems to be solved when a large number of small‐scale dispersed generation systems are introduced into electric power systems. This paper deals with a super‐distributed energy system that consists of a great number of dispersed generation systems such as fuel cells, micro gas turbines, and so on. The behavior of a customer with a dispersed generation system is simulated as the Ising model in statistical mechanics. The necessity of a distribution network in super‐distributed energy systems is discussed based on the Ising model. The feasibility of decentralized autonomous control using vicinity information is also investigated on the basis of stability analysis of the Hopfield neural network model. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Using regression analyses between the properties of coals and the strengths of their cokes several significant correlations are derived, which are useful to evaluate coals in the making of metallurgical coke. Slight but significant modification was necessary for their application to coal blends. For example, plasticities of the coal blends required a different equation from that derived for the single coals. The region of high coke-strength in the diagram of volatile matter vs. total dilatation was expanded considerably towards coals of lower caking properties by blending of coals, suggesting that the blending may serve to increase the coking properties of component coals. The coke strength, especially after the gasification was found to increase with the increasing inert maceral content in the parent coals up to 30 wt %. The high level of strength was maintained even above 35 wt % of inert content.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new video conferencing system that presents correct gaze directions of a remote user by switching among images obtained from multiple cameras embedded in a screen according to a local user’s position. Our proposed method reproduces a situation like that in which the remote user is in the same space as the local user. The position of the remote user to be displayed on the screen is determined so that the positional relationship between the users is reproduced. The system selects one of the embedded cameras whose viewing direction towards the remote user is the closest to the local user’s viewing direction to the remote user’s image on the screen. As a result of quantitative evaluation, we confirmed that, in comparison with the case using a single camera, the accuracy of gaze estimation was improved by switching among the cameras according to the position of the local user.

The importance of grain size refinement in enabling superplasticity is reviewed, and the current understanding of grain boundary characteristics is summarized. The application of orientation-imaging microscopy (OIM) methods to the processing response and the deformation and failure modes in superplastic aluminum alloys are illustrated through microtexture analysis and determination of grain boundary characteristics in selected commercial materials. Continuous and discontinuous recrystallization reactions exhibit distinct microtextures and grain boundary characteristics. The application of OIM and microtexture analysis to the evaluation of both deformation and failure mechanisms during superplastic forming is illustrated. This paper presents an experimental demonstration to determine electron temperature (T(e)) with unknown spectral sensitivity (transmissivity) in a Thomson scattering system. In this method, a double-pass scattering configuration is used and the scattered lights from each pass (with different scattering angles) are measured separately. T(e) can be determined from the ratio of the signal intensities without knowing a real chromatic dependence in the sensitivity. Note that the wavelength range for each spectral channel must be known. This method was applied to the TST-2 Thomson scattering system. As a result, T(e) measured from the ratio (T(e,r)) and T(e) measured from a standard method (T(e,s)) showed a good agreement with <∣T(e,r) - T(e,s)∣∕T(e,s)> = 7.3%.  相似文献
