In order to estimate the discharge performance of tall lead/acid cells (with tubular positives), changes in current and potential distributions with discharge progress were calculated with a computer on the basis of plate resistance and the current—potential—time relationship between small facing parts of positive and negative plates. The taller the cell, the larger the voltage drop along the plates. Thus, the discharge time became shorter despite a large amount of available active mass remaining in the bottom part of the plates.Various current-collector designs were evaluated, e.g., one with varying resistance at each height; a side conductor placed along the plates and connected to them at the top, centre and bottom, etc. Results revealed an optimum collector design with which the maximum discharge capacity could be obtained. Furthermore, it was shown that the side conductor markedly improved the discharge performance because the active mass near the connecting parts was appreciably used.  相似文献

The discharge behaviour of electrodeposited lead dioxide and lead electrodes was investigated under various conditions; the surfaces of the discharged electrodes were observed with a scanning electron microscope. Both the positive and negative electrodes were passivated by a covering of deposited lead sulphate crystals. The amount of lead sulphate required for passivation depended on the size of the crystals.  相似文献

This paper presents a single lossless inductive snubber‐assisted ZCS‐PFM series resonant DC‐DC power converter with a high‐frequency high‐voltage transformer link for industrial‐use high‐power magnetron drive. The current flowing through the active power switches rises gradually at a turned‐on transient state with the aid of a single lossless snubber inductor, and ZCS turn‐on commutation based on overlapping current can be achieved via the wide range pulse frequency modulation control scheme. The high‐frequency high‐voltage transformer primary side resonant current always becomes continuous operation mode, by electromagnetic loose coupling design of the high‐frequency high‐voltage transformer and the magnetizing inductance of the high‐frequency high‐voltage transformer. As a result, this high‐voltage power converter circuit for the magnetron can achieve a complete zero current soft switching under the condition of broad width gate voltage signals. Furthermore, this high‐voltage DC‐DC power converter circuit can regulate the output power from zero to full over audible frequency range via the two resonant frequency circuit design. Its operating performances are evaluated and discussed on the basis of the power loss analysis simulation and the experimental results from a practical point of view. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The thermal expansion behavior for various aromatic polymides was investigated. Usally polymers, including polyimides, have high thermal expansion coefficients (3–6 × 10?5 K?1), compared with metals and ceramics. However, there are some polyimides which have very low thermal expansion coefficients below 1 × 10?5 K?1. This property was observed for the polymides obtained from pyromellitic dianhydride or 3,3′ 4,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride and aromatic diamines which were constituted of only benzene rings fused at para positions. It was proposed that their low thermal expansion coefficient related to the linearity in their polymer molecular skeltons.  相似文献

The feasibility of a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) method for Kolbe type reactions was investigated by using Pt-SPE composed with Nafion 415 and platinum. The Kolbe reaction of acetic acid proceeded effectively on one side and both sides Pt-SPE composites. The lower current efficiency was observed on the latter than on the former. Neat acetic acid could also be electrolysed on both sides SPE though the cell voltage was fairly high.A methanolic solution of monomethyl adipate was electrolysed to give dimethyl sebacate on both sides Pt-SPE according to the Brown-Walker reaction. The current efficiency and the terminal voltage increased with the concentration of monomethyl adipate. Pt-SPE behaved as an active electrode of a high roughness factor, eg about 6, for the Kolbe reaction of acetate.  相似文献

Composites of Al2O3 and Y2O3 partially-stabilized ZrO2 were isostatically hot-pressed using submicrometer powders as the starting material. The addition of Al2O3 resulted in a large increase in bending strength. The average bending strength for a composite containing 20 wt% Al2O3 was 2400 MPa, and its fracture toughness was 17 MN·w−3/2  相似文献

Dimethylsiloxane-tetramethyl-p-silphenylenesiloxane-dimethylsiloxane (DMS-TMPS-DMS) triblock copolymer was synthesized by employing living anionic polymerization of hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane (D3). Two synthetic methods were carried out for the polymerization. One of those methods was the anionic polymerization of D3 initiated at the silanolate anion which was prepared from the terminal hydroxyl group of silanol-terminated TMPS prepolymer by reaction with n-butyllithium (method 1). The other was the coupling reaction of vinyl-terminated TMPS prepolymer with hydrosilyl-terminated DMS prepolymer obtained from the anionic polymerization of D3 by using diphenylmethylsilanolate anion as initiator (method 2). In method 1, DMS contents of the copolymers ranged from 25.8 to 72.5 wt% and the values agreed with the ratio of D3 to TMPS prepolymer. The weight-average molecular weights ranged from 1.36×104 to 19.4×104 and were close to the predicted values calculated from the M?v of the TMPS prepolymer and the amount of D3 added. In the case of method 2, weight-average molecular weights ranged from 19.5×104 to 24.2×104. The high molecular weight copolymer could thus be obtained by method 2. Intrinsic viscosity values of the triblock copolymers agreed with calculated values obtained by considering the copolymer as a binary mixture of these homopolymers. Differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry were carried out on the triblock copolymers. The equilibrium melting temperatures of each of the copolymers were very close to that of poly-TMPS (160°C). The glass transition temperature and heat of fusion were decreased as the DMS content was increased. The thermogravimetric curves for the copolymers indicated that the thermal stability of the triblock copolymer was intermediate between the DMS and TMPS homopolymers.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of Young's modulus and internal friction (Q−1)in alumina, silicon nitride, and partially stabilized zirconia (Y-PSZ) ceramics was studied. Little change in Q−1 was found for alumina, whereas Q−1 for silicon nitride ceramics increased above 700°C. The Q−1 of Y-PSZ increased markedly with increasing temperature up to a peak at ∼200°C.  相似文献

In order to study the dependence of the gap width change on the burn-up, the fuel-to-cladding gap widths were investigated by ceramography in a large number of FBR MOX fuel pins irradiated to high burn-up. The dependence of gap widths on the burn-up was closely connected with the formations of JOG (joint oxyde-gaine) and rim structure. The gap widths decreased gradually due to the fuel swelling until ∼30 GWd/t, but beyond this burn-up the dependence showed two different tendencies. With the increase of burn-up, the gap widths decreased due to the increase of fuel swelling in the low fuel temperature region where the rim structure was observed, but they increased in the high fuel temperature region where the JOG rich in Cs and Mo formed in the gap.  相似文献
