Composite materials of melt-spun Mg90Ni10 and graphite: Microstructural changes during cyclic hydrogenation and the impact on gas and heat transport characteristics

It is of high technical importance to consider the loading and unloading dynamics of hydride-based hydrogen storage tanks, which are mainly influenced by the heat and gas transfer properties inside the reaction bed. In this regard, hydride-graphite composites offer improved heat transfer properties and higher volumetric storage capacities compared to commonly used powder beds.

Preparation and characterization of spray-dried polymeric nanocapsules

Recently, much interest has been generated by colloidal drug delivery systems such as nanocapsules because of the possibilities for controlled release, increased drug efficacy, and reduced toxicity after parenteral administration. Nanocapsules of poly-epsilon-caprolactone and Eudragit S90 were prepared. However, these systems present physicochemical instability. To dry these nanocapsule suspensions with the view of obtaining a solid form, the spray-drying process was used. Spray-dried powders of nanocapsules of poly-sigma-caprolactone and Eudragit S90 were prepared by atomization in a Büchi 190 Mini-spray dryer using colloidal silicon dioxide as a technological carrier. The morphological analysis of the surface at the powders showed that nanocapsules remain intact, and no change in particle size was detected after the spray-drying process. These results suggest that this method can be an interesting alternative to dry nanocapsule suspensions.

Zertifikaten eingehen: die so genannten Public-Key-Infrastrukturen (PKI). A 10-Gb/s eye-opening monitor IC for decision-guided adaptation ofthe frequency response of an optical receiver

This paper presents a single-chip eye opening monitor IC for decision-guided optimization of the frequency response of an optical receiver. The IC provides an analog output voltage proportional to the horizontal eye opening of a data signal. The chip includes a delay-locked loop for automatic adjustment of the clock phase. It was designed in a 50-GHz-f_T SiGe bipolar technology and dissipates 4.95 W from a -5-V supply
