This paper presents a new method for balancing voltages of series-connected insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). This method can be implemented only by adding simple circuits to the gate drive system of the IGBTs, and its effect of balancing the IGBT's collector-emitter voltages during the switching transients is remarkable. This principal strategy and experimental results with series-connected IGBTs are first described. After that, further experimental results are shown from the switching tests of four 2.5-kV flat-packaged IGBTs connected in series. Through the switching tests, superior characteristics of the proposed method have been confirmed.  相似文献

Abstract— A complete poly‐Si thin‐film transistor (TFT) on plastic process has been optimized to produce TFT arrays for active‐matrix displays. We present a detailed study of the poly‐Si crystallization process, a mechanism for protecting the plastic substrate from the pulsed laser used to crystallize the silicon, and a high‐performance low‐temperature gate dielectric film. Poly‐Si grain sizes and the corresponding TFT performance have been measured for a range of excimer‐laser crystallization fluences near the full‐melt threshold, allowing optimization of the laser‐crystallization process. A Bragg reflector stack has been embedded in the plastic coating layers; its effectiveness in protecting the plastic from the excimer‐laser pulse is described. Finally, we describe a plasma pre‐oxidation step, which has been added to a low‐temperature (<100°C) gate dielectric film deposition process to dramatically improve the electrical properties of the gate dielectric. These processes have been integrated into a complete poly‐Si TFT on plastic fabrication process, which produces PMOS TFTs with mobilities of 66 cm2 /V‐sec, threshold voltages of ?3.5 V, and off currents of approximately 1 pA per micron of gate width.  相似文献

Abstract— A new light‐collection optics has been developed that enhances the luminance of projection TV which use lamps as the light source. The conventional optical system consists of an elliptical reflector and a flat‐surface front glass, but these systems cannot sufficiently collect the beams coming from the light source, and they cause loss in the coupling with the light pipe. To solve this problem, we devised a new optical system through a structure of an aspherical reflector and an aspherical front glass. This new optical system concentrates the beams coming from the light source to a smaller point which improves the coupling efficiency. Thus, we have successfully increased the luminance of the projection TV by approximately 10%. This paper reports the design principles of the new optical system and the results of a prototype experiment.  相似文献

Abstract— In order to increase the screen brightness of Digital Micromirror Device? projectors (DMD?), we have developed a new aspherical lens. Homogenizing the étendue‐density distribution made by a high‐pressure mercury lamp, this lens improves the light convergence at its focal point where the rod integrator's entrance is placed. Our simulation showed that the percentage of increase in brightness is up to 18.4%.  相似文献

p94, a muscle-specific member of calpain family, is unique in that it undergoes rapid and exhaustive autolysis with a half-life of less than 1 h resulting in its disappearance from muscle. Recently, p94 was shown to be responsible for limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A. To elucidate the muscular proteolytic system mediated by p94 and to solve the mystery of its unusually rapid autolysis, we searched for p94-binding proteins by the two-hybrid system. Although calpain small subunit plays a crucial role for regulation of ubiquitous calpains, it did not associate with p94. After a screening of skeletal muscle library, connectin (or titin), a gigantic filamentous protein spanning the M- to Z-lines of muscle sarcomere, was found to bind to p94 through a p94-specific region, IS2. The connectin-insoluble fraction of washed myofibrils contained full-length intact p94, suggesting that connectin regulates p94 activity.  相似文献

A modulation depth enhancement technique for highly sensitive electro-optic (EO) sensing of RF near-fields is presented. This technique increases EO signal intensity without increasing total power received by a photodiode (PD). Therefore, sensitivity limitation owing to saturation of the PD can be avoided. Michaelis constant of enzymatic reaction was evaluated by affinity capillary electrophoresis using beta-galactosidase as a model enzyme and o- and p-isomers of nitrophenyl-beta-galactoside as substrates. The enzyme was immobilized on the inner surface of a fused-silica capillary by the covalent bonding through a bridging group, and the substrates were introduced into the capillary. The reaction products migrated electrophoretically toward the detection side (anodic side), while the unreacted substrates moved toward the injection side (cathodic side) on a slow electroosmotic flow generated by the weak negative charge of the immobilized enzyme. The initial velocity of the enzymatic reaction was estimated from the peak height of the product, and the Michaelis constant was calculated according to Lineweaver-Burk equation. The results (Km, 2.34 mM for o-isomer and 1.09 mM for p-isomer) were reproducible (RSD < 11.8%, n = 5). Although the estimated Michaelis constants were larger than the reported values measured in homogeneous solution, the ratio of the Michaelis constants of o-/p-isomers was in good agreement with the literature value. The present method required as low as a few microgram amount of enzyme and nanogram amount of substrate which is far smaller than those required in a conventional affinity HPLC.  相似文献

Four types of lipid emulsion for highly lipophilic antitumour agent RS-1541 (13-O-palmitoylrhizoxin) with mean particle diameters of 200-260 nm were prepared using soybean oil (SOY) or dioctanoyldecanoylglycerol (ODO) for the oil phase and lecithin (LEC) or polyoxyethylene-(60)-hydrogenated castor oil (HCO-60) for surfactants. The lipolysis rate of HCO-60-emulsified emulsions by lipoprotein lipase was much slower than that of LEC-emulsified emulsions. Particle sizes of emulsions incubated in plasma with the lipase for six hours were 75%, 79%, 101%, and 93% of initial values for SOY/LEC, ODO/LEC, SOY/HCO-60, and ODO/HCO-60 emulsions, respectively, showing an apparent size decrease for LEC-emulsified emulsions. In rats, uptake clearance values of SOY/LEC and ODO/LEC emulsions of RS-1541 in the reticuloendothelial system (RES) were 81.2 and 135.3 mL h(-1), respectively, and AUC values were 4.0 and 1.3 microg h mL(-1), respectively. In contrast, RES uptake clearances of HCO-60 emulsions of RS-1541 were considerably lower (4.2 mL h(-1) for SOY/HCO-60; 2.2 mL h(-1) for ODO/HCO-60), resulting in high AUC values (35.4 microg h mL(-1) for SOY/ HCO-60; 63.9 microg h mL(-1) for ODO/HCO-60). The concentrations of RS-1541 in tumour tissues after an intravenous administration of ODO/HCO-60 emulsions of RS-1541 to mice bearing solid tumour M5076 sarcoma were about ten times higher than those after the administration of SOY/LEC emulsions. These results indicate that HCO-60 emulsions, compared with conventional LEC emulsions, are more stable to lipoprotein lipase and show low uptakes by RES organs, long circulations in the plasma, and high distributions in tumours. Thus, these sterically stabilized emulsions could show potential as effective carriers for highly lipophilic antitumour agents to enhance the drug delivery in tumours.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Titanium in other parts of the body, well known for its biocompatibility, was examined in an animal model for its use as an ossicular replacement material. STUDY DESIGN: The biocompatibility of titanium was studied in the middle ear of rabbits using light and scanning electron microscopy. Titanium pins were placed as middle ear prostheses or as free implants and were examined after 28, 84, 168, and 336 days. RESULTS: After 28 days, the prostheses were covered by regular mucosa. The free implants took up to 336 days to be totally epithelialized. There were no inflammatory cells observed on the surface of the material nor were unusual amounts of fibrous tissue seen. In addition, the titanium material exhibited an affinity toward bone. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this animal experiment indicate that titanium is a useful material for ossicular replacement prostheses.  相似文献
