This paper presents a new real-time method for locating fault section at substations. When a fault occurs, considerable information resulting from protective relay operation and circuit-breaker operation is recorded. Using this information an attempt is made to locate the fault section, especially by considering the sequential relationship of the information and by dividing fault areas. Primarily, in this method, the fault area is divided into several sections based on protection area and operation time of protective relays. Next, expecting subsequent operation of backup relays, the “waiting time” for reasoning is given to each divided section. After a lapse of “waiting time,” all the suspected fault sections are extracted and given priority based on the empirical knowledge of experts. A prototype of the expert system was developed for fault section location, which was applied to various complicated fault cases. The effectiveness of the method was proved even in case of multiple faults and no-operation of protective relays the circuit breakers.  相似文献

Poly (methyl methacylate) (PMMA) bone cement is one of the popular bone-repairing materials for fixation of artificial hip joints. Significant problems on the PMMA bone cement are caused by loosening at the interface between bone and the cement, since the cement does not show bone-bonding, i.e. bioactivity. Development of PMMA bone cement capable of bone-bonding has been therefore long desired. The prerequisite for an artificial material to show bone-bonding is the formation of a biologically active bone-like apatite layer on its surface when implanted in the body. The same type of apatite formation can be observed on bioactive materials even in a simulated body fluid (Kokubo solution) with ion concentrations nearly equal to those of human blood plasma. Fundamental researches for bioactive glasses and glass-ceramics revealed that the apatite deposition is initiated by release of Ca2+ ions from the material into the body fluid, and by catalytic effect of Si-OH groups formed on the surface of the material. These findings lead an idea that novel bioactive cement can be designed by incorporation of Si-OH groups and Ca2+ ion into PMMA bone cement. In the present study, PMMA bone cement is modified with 20 mass % of various kinds of alkoxysilanes and calcium salts, and its apatite-forming ability was evaluated in Kokubo solution. The apatite formation was observed on the surface of the modified cements containing 20 mass % of CaCl2, irrespective of the kind of the examined alkoxysilane. On the other hand, the apatite formation was observed on the cement containing CaCl2, Ca(CH3COO)2 or Ca(OH)2, but not on the cement containing CaCO3 or beta-Ca3(PO4)2, even when the cement contains 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS). The results indicate that modification with alkoxysilane and calcium salts showing high water-solubility is effective for providing PMMA bone cement with bioactivity.  相似文献

We used culture- and molecular-biology-based methods to investigate the diversity of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in the ethnic chevon (goat) meat products chartayshya, jamma and arjia of the Western Himalayas. In six chartayshya, six jamma and four arjia samples, LAB were the predominant microbial component involved in the fermentation of these samples, and the total LAB population in arjia (7.8 ± 0.1 log cfu g−1; mean ± SD) was significantly higher (P < 0.05) than in chartayshya (6.9 ± 0.1 log cfu g−1) and jamma (7.5 ± 0.1 log cfu g−1). We identified 53 LAB samples by 16S rRNA and phenylalanyl-tRNA synthase (pheS) genes sequencing. The LAB isolates were identified as Enterococcus durans, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus hirae, Leuconostoc citreum, Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Pediococcus pentosaceus, and Weissella cibaria. These results revealed that there is a high level of diversity of LAB in the Himalayan ethnic preserved meat products.  相似文献

Osteolysis caused by wear particles from polyethylene in the artificial hip joints is a serious issue. We have used photo-induced radical graft polymerization to graft 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC) polymer onto the surface of cross-linked polyethylene (CLPE-g-MPC) in order to reduce friction and wear at the bearing surface of the joint. The physical and mechanical properties of CLPE and CLPE-g-MPC were not significantly different, expect that the friction coefficient of untreated CLPE cups was 0.0075, compared with 0.0009 for CLPE-g-MPC cup, an 88% reduction. After 3.0 × 106 cycles in the hip joint simulator test, we could not observe any wear of CLPE-g-MPC cups. We concluded that the advantage of photo-induced radical graft polymerization technique was that the grafted MPC polymer gave a high lubricity only on the surface and has no effect on the bulk properties of the CLPE substrate.  相似文献

Three approaches that allow the tailoring of long period gratings based refractometric sensors for concentration measurement in fuel blends are employed to assess the fuel quality in biodiesel and biodiesel-petrodiesel blend. To allow the analysis of fuel samples with refractive index higher than fiber cladding one, the samples refractive indices were changed by thermo-optic effect and by dilution in a standard substance with low refractive index. The obtained results show the sensor can detect oil concentration in biodiesel samples with resolution as better as 0.07% and biodiesel concentration in biodiesel-petrodiesel samples with average resolution of 0.09%.  相似文献

It has been reported that saliva may play an important role in the prevention and development of enamel caries and that both lipids and protein contents in saliva may be relevant to this role. This study examined the lipid and protein levels in saliva from individuals differing in caries experience. Female subjects (20 to 21 years old) were used divided equally into two groups, caries-susceptible group (CSG) and caries-resistant group (CRG). Stimulated parotid saliva and stimulated whole saliva were collected from the subjects. After centrifugation, each saliva sample was analyzed for the concentrations of lipids and proteins and for the compositions of lipids and fatty acids. The lipid and protein contents in parotid saliva increased in proportion to increase of the flow rate. The lipid content was slightly correlated with the protein one (r = 0.33). Total lipid and protein concentrations were higher in the samples from CSG than those from CRG. The lipid composition was similar in the samples from the two groups; more than half in total lipids was neutral lipids, followed by glycolipids and phospholipids. Neutral lipids and free fatty acid and triacylglyceride concentrations were significantly higher in the samples from CSG than those from CRG (p<0.01 for each). Also stearic, linoleic and docosahexaenoic acids were significantly higher in the former group than the latter one (p<0.05 and p<0.01). In summary, the lipid concentrations in parotid saliva from caries susceptible subjects were higher than those from caries resistant ones, and the difference in fatty acid composition was detected between them. The variations in the lipid levels and fatty acid composition may be associated with those in caries development.  相似文献

Many controllers using neural networks have been recently developed. The hybrid and direct types are two major categories of such controllers. While the first type tunes the parameters of the conventional controller by means of neural networks, the latter constructs the controller by learning the inverse dynamics of the control target. Electric power systems require voltage and reactive power (VQ) control to avoid voltage collapse. The conventional VQ control, however, meets this requirement unsatisfactorily because the control is only approximate. In this paper, we will propose a new algorithm for VQ control using recurrent neural networks (RNNs), which have the ability to deal with the system's controlled target by means of RNNs. Second, we will apply this algorithm to VQ control. We will call this controller “neuroVQC.” Finally, the usefulness of the neuroVQC will be shown by comparison with the conventional VQ controller.  相似文献

There are serious gaps in knowledge with respect to the use of standardized assessment instruments such as the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale–Third Edition (WAIS–III; D. Wechsler, 1997) or the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory–2 (MMPI–2; J. N. Butcher, W. G. Dahlstrom, J. R. Graham, A. Tellegen, & B. Kaemmer, 1989) with Asian Americans. Issues surrounding the availability, reliability, and validity of assessment instruments must be addressed before extended discussions about the implication of test revisions for this population can take place. The authors review the current status of the WAIS–III and MMPI–2 with Asian Americans with respect to their availability, reliability, and validity, including reasons why Asian Americans have been severely underrepresented in validation studies. The authors argue for the need to collect data on the use of standardized assessment instruments with Asian Americans and conclude with recommendations for the inclusion of this population in future test revision projects. Four species of marine benthic algae (Laurencia filiformis, L. intricata, Gracilaria domingensis and G. birdiae) that belong to the phylum Rhodophyta were collected in Espírito Santo State, Brazil and investigated concerning their biochemical composition (fatty acid, total lipid, soluble proteins, amino acid and ash). The total content of lipid (% dry weight) ranged from 1.1% to 6.2%; fatty acid from 0.7% to 1.0%; soluble protein from 4.6% to 18.3%, amino acid from 6.7% to 11.3% and ash from 22.5% to 38.4%. Judging from their composition, the four species of algae appear to be potential sources of dietary proteins, amino acids, lipids and essential fatty acids for humans and animals.  相似文献
