An extra-heavy crude oil underground upgrading process is described which involves the downhole addition of a hydrogen donor additive under steam injection conditions (280-315°C and residence times of at least 24-h). Laboratory experiments showed a 4° increase in the API gravity (from 9 to 12°) of the upgraded product, a two-fold reduction in the viscosity and, an approximately 8% decrease in the asphaltene content with respect to the original crude. Further increases on the temperature led to products with improved properties reaching 15°API at 315°C. It was found that the presence of the natural formation (catalysts) and methane (natural gas) is necessary to enhance the properties of the upgraded crude oil. From GC and GC-MS results a reaction pathway is proposed that involves hydrogen transfers from tetralin to the extra-heavy crude oil resulting in the formation of 1,2-dihydronaphthalene. This compound is then transformed into naphthalene, further upgrading of crude oil through hydrogen donation. The results of the experiments carried out in the presence and absence of the mineral formation and with an inert solid (SiC) strongly indicate that the former acts as a catalyst and not as a heat transfer matrix. Isotopic labeling studies (CD4 and 13CH4) give evidences that, most probably, methane is involved in the upgrading reactions.  相似文献

Optimal Path Problems with Second-Order Stochastic Dominance Constraints   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
This paper studies optimal path problems integrated with the concept of second order stochastic dominance. These problems arise from applications where travelers are concerned with the trade off between the risks associated with random travel time and other travel costs. Risk-averse behavior is embedded by requiring the random travel times on the optimal paths to stochastically dominate that on a benchmark path in the second order. A general linear operating cost is introduced to combine link- and path-based costs. The latter, which is the focus of the paper, is employed to address schedule costs pertinent to late and early arrival. An equivalent integer program to the problem is constructed by transforming the stochastic dominance constraint into a finite number of linear constraints. The problem is solved using both off-the-shelf solvers and specialized algorithms based on dynamic programming (DP). Although neither approach ensures satisfactory performance for general large-scale problems, the numerical experiments indicate that the DP-based approach provides a computationally feasible option to solve medium-size instances (networks with several thousand links) when correlations among random link travel times can be ignored.  相似文献

In the last few decades the continuous monitoring of complex dynamic systems has become an increasingly important issue across diverse engineering areas. This paper presents a pattern recognition based system that uses visual-based efficient invariants features for continuous monitoring of induction motors. The procedures presented here are based on the image identification of the 3-D current state space patterns that allow the identification of distinct fault types and, furthermore, their corresponding severity. This automatic fault detection system deals with time-variant electric currents and is based on the identification of three-phase stator currents specified patterns. Several simulation and experimental results are also presented in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.  相似文献

This short communication analyzes the results recently presented in the paper “On a novel dead time compensator for stable processes with long dead times” published in the Journal of Process Control. In the mentioned paper it is argued that the proposed strategy, called modified Smith predictor (MSP), gives better performance than the filtered Smith predictor (FSP) dead-time compensator for stable processes with dead time. In fact MSP has the same structure as FSP and only some specific tuning rules of the filters are proposed. Therefore, in this work some aspects of the comparative analysis and tuning rules presented in the referred paper are discussed to show that MSP is a particular case of FSP and that for some particular cases its tuning rule does not allow for a good closed-loop response. Some simulation case studies are used to illustrate these aspects.  相似文献

Hybrid materials consisting of SiO2/CdS particles dispersed in poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) and poly(styrene-co-maleimide) have been synthesized and characterized. The polymer nanocomposites were synthesised in situ in the presence of previously prepared inorganic fillers (SiO2/CdS). The nanocomposites were synthesized with the use of as-prepared or surface-modified SiO2/CdS fillers. For both types of nanocomposites, the optical properties were evaluated and the observation of size quantization effects in the optical spectra is discussed. In this context, the influence of the inorganic fillers and polymer matrices on the optical properties of the final nanocomposites was investigated.  相似文献

We report the design and first applications of a tandem mass spectrometer (a quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer) optimized for the transmission and analysis of large macromolecular assemblies. Careful control of the pressure gradient in the different pumping stages of the instrument has been found to be essential for the detection of macromolecular particles. Such assemblies are, however, difficult to analyze by tandem-MS approaches, because they give rise to signals above m/z 3,000-4,000, the limit for commercial quadrupoles. By reducing the frequency of the quadrupole to 300 kHz and using it as a narrow-band mass filter, we show that it is possible to isolate ions from a single peak at m/z 22,000 in a window as narrow as 22 m/z units. Using cesium iodide cluster signals, we show that the mass range in the time-of-flight (TOF) analyzer extends beyond m/z 90,000, in theory to more than m/z 150,000. We also demonstrate that the resolution of the instrument is greater than 3,000 at m/z 44,500. Tandem-MS capabilities are illustrated by separating components from heterooligomeric assemblies formed between tetrameric transthyretin, thyroxine, retinol-binding protein, and retinol. Isolation of a single charge state at m/z 5,340 in the quadrupole and subsequent collision-induced dissociation (CID) in the gas-filled collision cell leads to the formation of ions from individual subunits and subcomplexes, identified by their mass and charge in the TOF analyzer.  相似文献

In a recent publication [T.E. Huber, L. Luo, Appl. Phys. Lett. 70 (1997) 2502.] we discussed a structural enhancement of the electromagnetic transmission in composites. We showed that densely packed arrays (76% volume fraction) of 10 μm diameter parallel indium wires exhibit an enhanced transmission, of 103, relative to an indium foil of equal thickness for far-infrared (10 cm−1 < k < 80 cm−1) propagating along the wire length. The absorption increases as k0.45 ± 0.07 and is explained by the dynamic Maxwell-Gannett model, which includes eddy current dissipation. It is of considerable practical interest to extend the range of application of these composite properties to the microwave domain. Here we will discuss recent measurements of the transmission of microwaves in wire array composites in the 8–12 GHz frequency range.  相似文献

This paper investigates the use of the QV and PV curves in the planning scenario, when some system reinforcements and contingency screening are analyzed. The idea is to employ the continuation method to obtain the system load margin and the QV curve to calculate the reactive power reserve associated with each bus. Combining these approaches enables one to identify the system critical area, the actual operating conditions, the most severe contingencies and the most important reinforcements. The methodology proposed may provide important signals to system planners, since the planning is focused under the voltage security point of view. The ideas are tested with the help of some academic systems and two real (a Brazilians and a Paraguayan) systems with all the system limits considered.  相似文献

Polyaniline was synthesized in the presence of tanninsulfonic acid to yield a product tanninsulfonic acid‐doped polyaniline (TANI‐PANI) that is water‐dispersible. Several samples ranging from 0 to 70% tanninsulfonate (TS) were prepared. These samples were then evaluated for differences in dispersibility, particle size, and conductivity. As the percent of TS in the samples was increased, the water‐dispersibility of the TANI‐PANI also increased. The particle size of the samples as well as the conductivity of the samples decreased with increasing percentages of TS in the samples. After extensive washings, however, the conductivity remained fairly constant (~0.5 S/cm) regardless of the amount of TS in the samples. Additionally, elemental analysis, TGA, and IR data were used to demonstrate that the TS may be grafted to polyaniline during the synthesis of TANI‐PANI. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
