Although a number of studies on traditional Chinese medicine, such as qi-gong (QG), acupuncture (AC), moxibustion and Chinese herbal drugs, have been reported in recent years, there are few reports on human cerebral evoked potentials (EPs), especially relating only to QG and AC. In the present study, we examined the changes in EPs and electroencephalogram (EEG) by QG, and by AC stimulation to the point called "Zusanli" on the left lower leg, with one healthy male adult. 1. With regard to the effect of QG, significant changes in EP-components originated from the cortex suggest both facilitating and inhibitory effects of QG on the cortex. However, no significant changes in EP-components originated from the subcortex and no significant changes in EEG power% suggest that QG does not affect the subcortex. 2. With regard to the effects of AC, significant changes in EP-components originated from the cortex suggest facilitating and inhibitory effects of AC stimulation on the cortex. Furthermore, it is suggested that AC stimulation has few effects on the somatosensory and the visual pathways up to the cortex, while it has complicated effects on the auditory pathway up to the cortex.  相似文献

A teflon tape (0.07 mm thickness) is placed at the center of an edge of an epoxy plate. The plate is used to fabricate a mold, and epoxy resin is cast in the mold so as to produce a cracked epoxy plate. A tensile test is conducted so as to determine the fracture toughness value of the epoxy plate. Next, a mold is fabricated from an aluminum plate having a teflon tape placed along its edge, and epoxy resin is cast in the mold so as to produce an epoxy-aluminum composite weakened by an interface crack. Tensile testing reveals that the crack always propagates into the epoxy plate at an angle measured from the interface. The stress intensity factor for an interface crack is defined in a manner similar to that for a crack in a homogeneous material, and is obtained for several values of a/h, 2a being the crack length and 2h being the width of the epoxy-aluminum composite.  相似文献

The flux of the CaO‐Al203‐BaO‐CeO2‐MgO system as a desulphurization flux containing no fluorine for the secondary metallurgy process was evaluated in this study. The flux composition was designed using the eutectic compositions of the binary systems. The melting and desulphurization abilities of the fluxes were evaluated by measuring their liquidus temperatures and the distribution ratios of sulphur between the fluxes and the carbon‐saturated iron or stainless steel. The lowest liquidus temperature of 1325°C was obtained by adding 5.7 mass% MgO to the 80mass%A‐20mass%B flux. (A: 12CaO‐7Al2O3, B: BaCeO3+12mass%Al2O3). The distribution ratios of sulphur and sulphide capacities of the fluxes in this study were higher than those of the commercial product of calcium aluminate flux. This means that the CaO‐Al2O3‐BaO‐CeO2‐MgO fluxes developed in this study have higher desulphurization and melting abilities compared with the commercial product of calcium aluminate flux.  相似文献

The yeast Pseudozyma antarctica produces a large amount of glycolipid biosurfactants known as mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs), which show not only excellent surface‐active properties but also versatile biochemical actions. To investigate the biosynthesis of MELs in the yeast, we recently reported expressed sequence tag (EST) analysis and estimated genes expressing under MEL production conditions. Among the genes, a contiguous sequence of 938 bp, PA_004, showed high sequence identity to the gene emt1, encoding an erythritol/mannose transferase of Ustilago maydis, which is essential for MEL biosynthesis. The predicted translation product of the extended PA_004 containing the two introns and a stop codon was aligned with Emt1 of U. maydis. The predicted amino acid sequence shared high identity (72%) with Emt1 of U. maydis, although the amino‐terminal was incomplete. To identify the gene as PaEMT1 encoding an erythritol/mannose transferase of P. antarctica, the gene‐disrupted strain was developed by the method for targeted gene disruption, using hygromycin B resistance as the selection marker. The obtained ΔPaEMT1 strain failed to produce MELs, while its growth was the same as that of the parental strain. The additional mannosylerythritol into culture allowed ΔPaEMT1 strain to form MELs regardless of the carbon source supplied, indicating a defect of the erythritol/mannose transferase activity. A friction stir processing (FSP) technique has been developed for use with aluminum and magnesium alloys, with the goal of high-strain-rate processing. In this study, we treat the microstructures of aluminum samples, of three levels of purity, manipulating their grain sizes, making them finer, using FSP. Grain sizes decreased with an increase in the Zener-Hollomon parameter, at all purity levels. However, the recrystallized grain of FSP-ed ultra-high-purity (99.999%) aluminum was particularly large, compared to the grain sizes of lower-purity (99% and 99.99%) aluminum, when subjected to the same processing conditions. The grain size reached a certain minimum value at high-strain-rates of processing, which we report for each purity level herein.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Pervaporation employing ethanol‐permselective silicalite membranes as an alternative to distillation is a promising approach for refining low‐concentration bioethanol solutions. However, to make the separation process practicable, it is extremely important to avoid the problems caused by the adsorption of succinate on the membrane during the separation process. In this work, the pervaporation of an ethanol fermentation broth without succinate was investigated, as well as the influence of several fermentation broth nutrient components. RESULTS: Candida krusei IA‐1 produces an extremely low level of succinate. The decrease in permeate ethanol concentration through a silicone rubber‐coated silicalite membrane during the separation of low‐succinate C. krusei IA‐1 fermentation broth was significantly improved when compared with that obtained using Saccharomyces cerevisiae broth. By treating the fermentation broth with activated carbon, bioethanol was concentrated as efficiently as with binary mixtures of ethanol/water. The total flux was improved upto 56% of that obtained from the separation of binary mixtures, compared with 43% before the addition of activated carbon. Nutrients such as peptone, yeast extract and corn steep liquor had a negative effect on pervaporation, but this response was distinct from that caused by succinate. CONCLUSION: For consistent separation of bioethanol from C. krusei IA‐1 fermentation broth by pervaporation, it is useful to treat the low nutrient broth with activated carbon. The problem of determining the transient stress distribution in an infinite elastic medium weakened by two coplanar Griffith cracks is considered. To the surfaces of the cracks, an internal pressure is applied suddenly. The problem is reduced to that of solving dual integral equations in the Laplace transform domain and those are solved by a series-expansion method.
