Electromagnetic wideband absorption is still perceived as a critical and formidable challenge to address with an unambiguous photonic absorber. Subwavelength metamaterial (MM) unit cells with unique and controlled features have recently gained considerable interest. However, meta-atoms, generated using a quantum-inspired pattern distribution, are underwhelming in existing literature to design photonic absorbers and their potential application to manufacture solar sails is still quite uncommon. In this article, to create a flexible, polarization-insensitive, ultrathin, and broadband MM absorber, quantum interference pattern-inspired design is utilized. Herein, a novel approach to fabricating solar sails for the space exploration incorporates the proposed broadband photonic absorber rather than conventional reflectors. The quantum-inspired meta-absorber (QIMA) exhibits an absorption of over 91% for the visible domain, i.e., 380–800 nm under a conventional plane-polarized source. It is shown in the study that broadband absorbers are almost equivalent to excellent reflectors to design the solar sails in terms of the time-averaged force calculated by utilizing the Maxwell stress tensor method. Thus, the QIMA has the potential to be a viable alternative to reflectors in the design of futuristic solar sails for space exploration. The interference theory model is also utilized to assure the dependability of calculated data, and additionally, the standard AM1.5 solar spectrum is utilized to demonstrate the QIMA's solar-harvesting potentiality.  相似文献

This work is focused on the study of combined heat and mass transfer or double-diffusive convection near a vertical truncated cone embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium in the presence of thermal radiation, magnetic field and variable viscosity effects. The viscosity of the fluid is assumed to be an inverse linear function of the fluid temperature. A boundary-layer analysis is employed to derive the non-dimensional governing equations. The governing equations for this investigation are transformed into a set of non-similar equations and solved numerically using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta integration scheme with the Newton–Raphson shooting technique. Comparisons with previously published work on special cases of the problem are performed and the results are found to be in excellent agreement. A parametric study illustrating the influence of the radiation parameter, magnetic field parameter, viscosity-variation parameter, buoyancy ratio and the Lewis number on the fluid velocity, temperature and solute concentration profiles as well as the Nusselt number and Sherwood number is conducted. The results of this parametric study are shown graphically and the physical aspects of the problem are highlighted and discussed.  相似文献

The keys factor in making wind power one of the main power sources to meet the world’s growing energy demands is the reliability improvement of wind turbines (WTs). However, the eventuality of fault occurrence on WT com ponents cannot be avoided, especially for doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based WTs, which are operating in severe environments. The maintenance need increases due to unexpected faults, which in turn leads to higher operating cost and poor reliability. Extensive investigation into DFIG internal fault detection techniques has been carried out in the last decade. This paper presents a detailed review of these techniques. It discusses the methods that can be used to detect internal electrical faults in a DFIG stator, rotor, or both. A novel sorting technique is presented which takes into consideration different parameters such as fault location, detection technique, and DFIG modelling. The main mathematical representation used to detect these faults is presented to allow an easier and faster under standing of each method. In addition, a comparison is carried out in every section to illustrate the main differences, advantages, and disadvantages of every method and/or model. Some real monitoring systems available in the market are presented. Finally, recommendations for the challenges, future work, and main gaps in the field of internal faults in a DFIG are presented. This review is organized in a tutorial manner, to be an effective guide for future research for enhancing the reliability of DFIG-based WTs.  相似文献

In this work an artificial crevice electrode was used in conjunction with a fine microprobe assembly to measure the potential inside the crevice. Using this setup crevice corrosion of commercially pure nickel was investigated in sulfuric acid with concentrations: 0.5, 1 and 2N. The outer surface of the Ni was held at a passive potential of 530 mV(SCE) while the experiment was running. The results showed a steep potential decay observed in all concentrations. For 0.5, 1 and 2N H2SO4, the total potential drop inside the crevice was: 681, 619 and 593 mV, respectively. This indicates the higher the acid concentration is the lower the potential drop will be. On the other hand, the measured current was highest (4.09 mA) for 2N and lowest (1 mA) for 0.5N. On the crevice wall a boundary was found to exist between the passive and the active regions. These findings point toward the IR voltage drop mechanism operating for this system.  相似文献

Undoped and Mn doped ZnSe nanoparticles thin films of thickness ranging from 20 to 120 nm have been successfully synthesized via inert gas condensation (IGC) technique with constant Argon gas flow rate and deposition temperature 300 K. The energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) for freshly deposited Zn1−xMnxSe thin films were carried out and revealed that Mn contents (x) were 0, 0.05, 0.16 and 0.25. The as-prepared deposited thin films of different thickness were examined using transmission electron microscope (TEM) and showed that all films were nanocrystalline with particle size ranging from 4.1 to 6.6 nm. The grazing incident in-plane X-ray diffraction (GIIXD) patterns verified nanocrystalline single phase zinc blende structure for 80 nm film thickness for all examined Zn1−xMnxSe compound films. A broadening of main characteristic lines (111), (220) and (311) of cubic phase was observed and was attributed to the lower particle size in nanocrystalline examined Zn1−xMnxSe compound films.  相似文献

We formulate the problem of free convection from a vertical wavy surface embedded in a uniform porous medium in the presence of an external magnetic field and internal heat generation or absorption effects. Using the appropriate transformations, the boundary layer equations are reduced to non-linear partial differential equations. The transformed boundary layer equations are solved numerically using Runge–Kutta integration scheme with the shooting technique. We have focused our attention on the evaluation of the local Nusselt number Nux, dimensionless velocity, f′, and temperature, θ. The governing parameters are the amplitude of the waviness of the surface, a, ranging from 0.0 (flat plate) to 0.3, and the heat generation absorption parameter Q ranging from − 0.25 to 0.25, and magnetic parameter Mn, ranging from 0.0 to 2.0. The effect of all these parameters are discussed and plotted.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of the anodic oxide film on tungsten during, or after, interruption of current flow was studied in HCOOH and CH3COOH solutions by galvanostatic and capacitance techniques. The results show the conditions under which enhancement of film growth occurs as revealed from its formation and dissolution characteristics. The results also show the possibility of the electrochemical oxidation of formic acid by the thick oxide film on tungsten. The importance of this electrocatalytic process is the occurrence of the oxidation process without appreciable oxygen evolution. The galvanostatic oxidation of tungsten in HCOOH as a reducing agent can be considered as a novel method for the preparation of a class of oxides; oxidation with simultaneous partial reduction.  相似文献
