Discovering unknown adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in postmarketing surveillance as early as possible is highly desirable. Nevertheless, current postmarketing surveillance methods largely rely on spontaneous reports that suffer from serious underreporting, latency, and inconsistent reporting. Thus these methods are not ideal for rapidly identifying rare ADRs. The multiagent systems paradigm is an emerging and effective approach to tackling distributed problems, especially when data sources and knowledge are geographically located in different places and coordination and collaboration are necessary for decision making. In this article, we propose an active, multiagent framework for early detection of ADRs by utilizing electronic patient data distributed across many different sources and locations. In this framework, intelligent agents assist a team of experts based on the well‐known human decision‐making model called Recognition‐Primed Decision (RPD). We generalize the RPD model to a fuzzy RPD model and utilize fuzzy logic technology to not only represent, interpret, and compute imprecise and subjective cues that are commonly encountered in the ADR problem but also to retrieve prior experiences by evaluating the extent of matching between the current situation and a past experience. We describe our preliminary multiagent system design and illustrate its potential benefits for assisting expert teams in early detection of previously unknown ADRs. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The results of an inter laboratory comparison of thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity, and thermal
expansion measurements on austenitic stainless steel in the temperature range between 20 and 1000°C are presented here. Mean
values are presented for the physical properties studied. Reliable relative expanded uncertainties can be stated for the properties
determined, which were achieved by applying good measurement practice, i.e., 3% for thermal expansion, 5% for specific heat
capacity and thermal diffusivity, and 6% for thermal conductivity. The mean values derived from this intercomparison agree
well with the results of a previous intercomparison in 1990.

A new versatile class AB low-voltage second generation current conveyor based on CMOS inverters operating in transconductance
mode is presented in this letter. Against traditional design based on CCII+, the circuit is able to operate at low supply
voltages and offers numerous advantages like class AB operation, large voltage and current swing, synthesis from digital inverters.
Simulation results from a typical 0.35 μm CMOS process had demonstrated the circuit capability to operate at high frequency
over wide voltage and wide current swings. The proposed circuit operation has been acted from measurements with the HEF4069UBP

The thermal properties of an air-bridged microbolometer have been evaluated on the basis of a finite element calculation scheme for the first time. The numerical results show that the performance of the device's sensitively depends on geometry and layout. The degree of thermal coupling and interaction with the heat sink affects the thermal time constant and frequency range of operation. For identical geometries, experimental and modeled data are in good agreement. The length of the air-bridge is defining the effective thermal time constant but has little effect on the thermal responsivity. An unusually high responsivity has been calculated for configurations where the thermal coupling to the heat sink has been minimized. This design leads to an increase of responsivity of a factor of 200 and would establish superior operation of the device even at ambient temperature 相似文献

Acetate non-utilizing strains harbouring trans-dominant mutations in the GPR1 gene (GPR1(d)) of the dimorphic yeast Yarrowia lipolytica have been selected and characterized. These mutants are highly sensitive to low concentrations of acetic acid and ethanol, even in presence of glucose. The toxic effect of acetic acid is pH-dependent and has the strongest effect at low pH. In contrast, the action of ethanol is pH-independent. One GPR1(d) mutant has been detected that was highly sensitive to acetic acid but could still grow on ethanol, which indicates putative differences in the function of the GPR1 gene product in the sensitivity to acetic acid and ethanol. The GPR1(d) mutants exhibit a complex pleiotropic phenotype. The mutations cause changed colony morphology as well as dimorphism of cells, and induce early cell death during growth on glucose, even without the presence of dicarbon compounds. Composition of intracellular membranes, as well as morphology of vacuole and mitochondria, were strongly changed. Back-crosses with wild-type strains and analysis of recombinant strains have shown that the expression of the pleiotropic phenotype depends on the site of mutation in the GPR1 gene, as well as on the genetic background of the strain harbouring the responsive mutation. Our data suggest that Gpr1p is involved in a general response of cells to the toxic action of dicarbon compounds like acetic acid and ethanol. 相似文献

A new operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) builds with CMOS inverters only is proposed in this paper. Simulations
with typical BSIM3V3 parameters of a 0.35 μm CMOS process have shown a 3.56 GHz gain-bandwidth product under 2.5 V supply
voltage. The corresponding total harmonic distortion is equal to 0.46% for 2 V peak–peak differential output voltage. At the
same supply voltage, the circuit can provided at each output a voltage swing of 2.25 V peak–peak. From VDD = 2 V to VDD = 2.5 V the differential transconductance varies from 72 to 108.4 μΩ−1. The corresponding common mode rejection ratio and the total power consumption are always lower than −31 dBc and 800 μW,

Ion implantation has the advantage of being a unidirectional doping technique. Unlike gaseous diffusion, this characteristic highlights strong possibilities to simplify solar cell process flows. The use of ion implantation doping for n‐type PERT bifacial solar cells is a promising process, but mainly if it goes with a unique co‐annealing step to activate both dopants and to grow a SiO2 passivation layer. To develop this process and our SONIA cells, we studied the impact of the annealing temperature and that of the passivation layers on the electrical quality of the implanted B‐emitter and P‐BSF. A high annealing temperature (above 1000 °C) was necessary to fully activate the boron atoms and to anneal the implantation damages. Low J0BSF (BSF contribution to the saturation current density) of 180 fA/cm2 was reached at this high temperature with the best SiO2 passivation layer. An average efficiency of 19.7% was reached using this simplified process flow (“co‐anneal process”) on large area (239 cm2) Cz solar cells. The efficiency was limited by a low FF, probably due to contaminations by metallization pastes. Improved performances were achieved in the case of a “separated anneals” process where the P‐BSF is activated at a lower temperature range. Peptide DIIADDEPLT (Pep19) has been previously suggested to improve metabolic parameters, without adverse central nervous system effects, in a murine model of diet-induced obesity. Here, we aimed to further evaluate whether Pep19 oral administration has anti-obesogenic effects, in a well-established high-fat diet-induced obesity model. Male Swiss mice, fed either a standard diet (SD) or high-fat diet (HFD), were orally administrated for 30 consecutive days, once a day, with saline vehicle or Pep19 (1 mg/kg). Next, several metabolic, morphological, and behavioral parameters were evaluated. Oral administration of Pep19 attenuated HFD body-weight gain, reduced in approximately 40% the absolute mass of the endocrine pancreas, and improved the relationship between circulating insulin and peripheral insulin sensitivity. Pep19 treatment of HFD-fed mice attenuated liver inflammation, hepatic fat distribution and accumulation, and lowered plasma alanine aminotransferase activity. The inguinal fat depot from the SD group treated with Pep19 showed multilocular brown-fat-like cells and increased mRNA expression of uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1), suggesting browning on inguinal white adipose cells. Morphological analysis of brown adipose tissue (BAT) from HFD mice showed the presence of larger white-like unilocular cells, compared to BAT from SD, Pep19-treated SD or HFD mice. Pep19 treatment produced no alterations in mice behavior. Oral administration of Pep19 ameliorates some metabolic traits altered by diet-induced obesity in a Swiss mice model. 相似文献
