Three different vanadium-modified Pd/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared and tested as catalysts for the deep oxidation of methane. Vanadium was added to the palladium catalyst by incipient wetness of palladium catalyst in order to modify its properties and improve its thermal stability and thioresistance. The behaviour of vanadium-modified catalysts depends on the concentration of this compound, being 0.5 wt.% the optimum amount. However, when strong catalyst poisons are present in the gas (SO2), these modified catalysts do not show a better performance than unmodified catalyst. Bimetallic catalysts were tested with and without further reduction, being observed that reduced bimetallic catalysts perform worse than the non-reduced ones.  相似文献

This paper presents different approaches which enable a data base management system to obtain a plausible fuzzy estimate for an attribute value of an item for which the information is not explicitly stored in the data base. This can be made either by a kind of analogical reasoning from information about particular items or by means of expert rules which specify the (fuzzy) sets of possible values of the attribute under consideration, for various classes of items. Another kind of expert rules enables the system to compute an estimate from the attribute value of another item provided that, in other respects, this latter item sufficiently resembles the item, the value of which we are interested in; then these expert rules are used either for controlling the analogical reasoning process or for enlarging the scope of application of the first kind of expert rules. The different approaches are discussed in the framework of possibility theory.  相似文献

The alpha2A- and alpha2C-adrenoceptor subtypes were evaluated in postmortem brains from suicides with depression (n = 22), suicides with other diagnoses (n = 12), and controls (n = 26). Membrane assays with the antagonist [3H]RX821002 (2-[3H]methoxyidazoxan) suggested the presence of alpha2A-adrenoceptors in the frontal cortex and both alpha2C-adrenoceptors and alpha2A-adrenoceptors in the caudate. The proportions in caudate were similar in controls (alpha2A, 86%; alpha2C, 14%), depressed suicides (alpha2A, 91%; alpha2C, 9%), and suicides with other diagnoses (alpha2A, 88%; alpha2C, 12%). Autoradiography of [3H]RX821002 binding under alpha(2B/C)-adrenoceptor-masking conditions confirmed the similar densities of alpha2A-adrenoceptors in the cortex, hippocampus, and striatum from controls and suicides. In the frontal cortex of depressed suicides, competition of [3H]RX821002 binding by (-)-adrenaline revealed a greater proportion (61 +/- 9%) of alpha2A-adrenoceptors in the high-affinity conformation for agonists than in controls (39 +/- 5%). Simultaneous analysis with the agonists [3H]clonidine and [3H]UK14304 and the antagonist [3H]RX821002 in the same depressed suicides confirmed the enhanced alpha2A-adrenoceptor density when evaluated by agonist, but not by antagonist, radioligands. The results indicate that depression is associated with a selective increase in the high-affinity conformation of the brain alpha2A-adrenoceptors.  相似文献

Mesenteric venous thrombosis (MVT) after appendicectomy has not been reported in the pediatric literature. This complication is associated with significant morbidity and mortality rates in adults. The report of this case attempts to analyze the features found in an appendicectomized child documented by radiological examination and surgery before and after starting heparin therapy. Anticoagulation treatment should be started as soon as possible and continued for a long time to decrease the risk of relapse.  相似文献

Pontine cat is an ectothermic preparation, whose central temperature can artificially be lowered from 36 degrees C to 26 degrees C; this gradual hypothermia is accompanied by a dramatic increase in paradoxical sleep (PS). Two main hypotheses might explain this result: executive systems of PS might be switched on gradually by cold-sensitive thermodetectors, whereas inhibitory monoaminergic mechanisms appear to be warm-sensitive. On the other hand, energy saving mechanisms peculiar to hypothermia might promote PS appearance. Indeed, in normal animals, PS is selectively suppressed both by hyperthermia and hypoxia. The inhibitory effect of hypoxia might explain why hypothermia, which protects the brain against hypoxic alterations, might facilitate PS. If this last hypothesis is correct, the putative increase in cerebral oxygen supply might increase PS. For this reason, we submitted eight pontine carotid-deafferented cats, kept at the same central temperature (34 +/- 0.5 degrees C: temperature clamp) to periodic hyperoxia (PaO2 = 58 +/- 7 kPa) or room air (PaO2 = 17 +/- 2 kPa) alternatively during 4- or 12-h periods. Hyperoxia induced an 85% increase in PS, mainly due to an increase in PS rhythm (PS cycle duration was 65 +/- 4 min in normoxia and 45 +/- 4 min in hyperoxia, p<0.0001). In five animals, after hyperoxia, PS cycle returned gradually back to control values in 4 to 12 h. These findings show that PS is exquisitely sensitive to conditions that impair oxidative metabolism. The role of cholinergic executive PS systems as putative metabolic-sensitive neurons remains to be established.  相似文献

We report on narrow-linewidth long-pulse laser emission from a dispersive solid-state dye-laser oscillator. Output energy was ~0.4 mJ/pulse at laser linewidths of 650 MHz and pulse lengths of 105 ns FWHM. We present in this paper an analysis of a semi-Lagrangian second order Backward Difference Formula combined with hp-finite element method to calculate the numerical solution of convection diffusion equations in ℝ2. Using mesh dependent norms, we prove that the a priori error estimate has two components: one corresponds to the approximation of the exact solution along the characteristic curves, which is O(Dt2+hm+1(1+\frac\mathopen|logh|Dt))O(\Delta t^{2}+h^{m+1}(1+\frac{\mathopen{|}\log h|}{\Delta t})); and the second, which is O(Dtp+|| [(u)\vec]-[(u)\vec]h||L)O(\Delta t^{p}+\| \vec{u}-\vec{u}_{h}\|_{L^{\infty}}), represents the error committed in the calculation of the characteristic curves. Here, m is the degree of the polynomials in the finite element space, [(u)\vec]\vec{u} is the velocity vector, [(u)\vec]h\vec{u}_{h} is the finite element approximation of [(u)\vec]\vec{u} and p denotes the order of the method employed to calculate the characteristics curves. A 2D Finite Element Model set up using the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (A.L.E) formulation proposed in Abaqus/Explicit (v6.4) is employed to predict serrated chip formation during cutting process. No artificial criterion is employed to create the chip or to initiate serrated chip formation. The sensitivity of serrated chip prediction to numerical and process parameters is analyzed in this paper. Experimental tests in orthogonal cutting conditions on machining of AISI-4140 with coated and uncoated cemented-carbide inserts were carried out to validate numerical results. They showed significant influence of cutting speed and rake angle on the serrated chip phenomena. The comparison between numerical and experimental results showed a good qualitative agreement and underlined the outstanding influence of the element dimensions employed in Finite Element Modeling (F.E.M.) tests.  相似文献

Abstract

An ion pair (RBMB) isolated from Rose Bengal and Methylene Blue has been used as the photoinitiator in formulations of photopolymers tested as holographic recording materials in the form of dry films. Under irradiation with light of wavelength 633 or 514 nm, diffraction efficiencies of 65 and 35%, and sensitivities of 30 and 100mJcm?2 have been respectively reached, with a spatial resolution of ca. 1000 lines mm?1. These holographic responses are better than those reached under comparative conditions using a 1:1 physical mixture of the individual dyes. The influence of the light intensity on the photoinitiation of the polymerization process yielding the hologram has also been studied.  相似文献

Human exposure to external 50/60-Hz electric and magnetic fields induces electric fields within the body. These induced fields can cause interference with implanted pacemakers. In the case of exposure to magnetic fields, the pacemaker leads are subject to induced electromotive forces, with current return paths being provided by the conducting body tissues. Modern computing resources used in conjunction with millimeter-scale human body conductivity models make numerical modeling a viable technique for examining any such interference. In this paper, an existing well-verified scalar-potential finite-difference frequency-domain code is modified to handle thin conducting wires embedded in the body. The effects of each wire can be included numerically by a simple modification to the existing code. Results are computed for two pacemaker lead insertion paths, terminating at either atrial or ventricular electrodes in the heart. Computations are performed for three orthogonal 60-Hz magnetic field orientations. Comparison with simplified estimates from Faraday's law applied directly to extracorporeal loops representing unipolar leads underscores problems associated with this simplified approach. Numerically estimated electromagnetic interference (EMI) levels under the worst case scenarios are about 40 microT for atrial electrodes, and 140 microT for ventricular electrodes. These methods could also be applied to studying EMI with other implanted devices such as cardiac defibrillators.  相似文献
