Total lipid contents, fatty acid compositions, phenolic profiles and antioxidants activities of seeds from Thapsia garganica, Orlaya maritima, and Retama raetam were investigated. The oil values were more than 26 %, except seeds of R. raetam (ca. 3 %). Unsaturated fatty acids accounted for the majority of the fatty acids (more than 75 %). Oleic and linoleic acid were the predominant fatty acids. Total phenolic compounds (24–104 mg GAE g?1 DR), total flavonoids (4–102 mg QE g?1g DR), total tannins (28–85 mg GAE g?1 DR) and condensed tannins (0.62–131 mg CE g?1 DR) were also determined. The antioxidant activities using different assays were evaluated. The predominant detected classes were the phenolic acids (42–85 %) and the flavonoids (11–48 %). The major phenolic acids were caffeic, trans‐4‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxycinnamic, p‐coumaric, and gallic acid. The predominant flavonoids were quercetin, luteolin, naringin, apigenin, and kaempferol. This study brings attention to the medicinal importance of these species as a source of oil and antioxidant molecules.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Over the past 15 years, lactate has been used successfully as a buffer in peritoneal dialysis solutions, although its effectiveness in the correction of uremic acidosis and its biocompatibility on peritoneal resident cells have been questioned. In addition, some investigators have suggested other potential adverse metabolic effects resulting from the unphysiologically high lactate flux into the body during CAPD. These potential problems associated with lactate-containing CAPD solution prompted the search for alternative buffer-containing solutions. Bicarbonate, the physiological buffer, was considered when the problem of calcium and magnesium carbonate solubility was solved by the use of a two-compartment bag system, allowing the mixing of bicarbonate and divalent cations immediately before infusion. The long-term tolerance, safety, efficacy and therapeutic value of a bicarbonate-buffered peritoneal dialysis solution were evaluated in this study. METHODS: This open, randomized, controlled, multicenter study comparing a 34 mmol/liter bicarbonate- with a 35 mmol/liter lactate-buffered peritoneal dialysis solution was performed in two consecutive 12-week-treatment phases. Fourteen Centers participated in this trial. RESULTS: A total of 69 out of initially 123 randomized patients completed the six-month study period (36 patients in the bicarbonate group and 33 in the lactate group). While the arterial acid base status of the total study population did not change during the study period and no significant difference was observed between the two treatment groups, the acid-base status of patients in the bicarbonate group entering the study with a metabolic acidosis significantly improved (mean +/- SD; blood pH: baseline = 7.361 +/- 0.05, week 12 = 7.380 +/- 0.04, P < 0.05; week 24 = 7.388 +/- 0.03 P < 0.05; plasma bicarbonate: baseline = 19.49 +/- 3.01 mmol/liter, week 12 = 21.16 +/- 2.63 mmol/liter, P < 0.01; week 24 = 21.51 +/- 2.42 mmol/liter, P < 0.01). No significant changes were recorded in acidotic patients treated with the conventional lactate-buffered solution. The changes in plasma bicarbonate from baseline during the study was significantly different between the groups (week 12: lactate = +0.11 +/- 2.21 mmol/liter, bicarbonate = +1.69 +/- 2.55 mmol/liter, P < 0.05, 95% confidence interval for the difference 0.21 to 2.94 mmol/liter; week 24: lactate = +0.03 +/- 2.48 mmol/liter, bicarbonate = +1.82 +/- 2. 96 mmol/liter, P < 0.05, 95% confidence interval for the difference 0.16 to 3.42 mmol/liter). The normalized protein catabolic rate (nPCR) slightly but significantly decreased in the lactate group (baseline -0.90 +/- 0.23 g/kg/day, week 24 -0.83 +/- 0.21 g/kg/day, P < 0.01) and increased in the bicarbonate group (baseline +0.89 +/- 0.28 g/kg/day, week 24 +0.92 +/- 0.26 g/kg/day, P < 0.05). Changes from baseline between groups were significant (week 24, lactate = -0. 099 +/- 0.15 g/kg/day, bicarbonate = 0.049 +/- 0.12 g/kg/day, P < 0. 01, 95% confidence interval for the difference 0.068 to 0.229 g/kg/day). Other evaluated parameters (biochemical profile, peritoneal function parameters, dialysate protein loss) did not differ significantly between the two groups. No adverse effects related to the study solution were recorded. CONCLUSIONS: These results support the efficacy and safety of bicarbonate-buffered peritoneal solutions in a controlled randomized comparison for up to six months. Peritoneal dialysis solutions containing the physiological buffer bicarbonate might effectively replace conventional lactate-buffered CAPD solutions.  相似文献

We discuss solution schemes for the incremental elastic-plastic structural problem, discretized by means of the Finite Element method. Attention is focused on their formulation and implementation in a parallel computing environment defined by a cluster of workstations connected by means of a network. The availability of parallel computers allows one to consider possible formulations and solution strategies so far not considered competitive with the classical Newton-like schemes implying the definition of an elastic-plastic tangent stiffness matrix. The solution strategies herein considered are based on the explicit integration of the actual elastic-plastic rate problem. This, in turn, is phrased in terms of two different formulations, whose relative advantages—particularly with respect to their integration in parallel—are discussed. A − gl (displacemen plastic multiplier) formulation of the structural rate theory of plasticity [1], integrated by means of an explicit, element-by-element scheme, seems to be the most promising one.  相似文献

The goal of this study is to evaluate the chemical composition of the Prosopis farcta seeds. The Kjeldahl method revealed that the level of the total protein was ca. 18 % on a dry weight basis (DW). Gas chromatographic analysis revealed the presence of six fatty acids. Linoleic acid with 57.55 % was the major fatty acid, followed by oleic and palmitic acids (24.58 and 12.91 %, respectively). Total phenolic content was 1.71 mg GAE/g DW (GAE = gallic acid equivalents). Methanolic extracts showed important antioxidant properties. This work highlights the importance of P. farcta seeds as natural and inexpensive sources of protein, unsaturated fatty acid, and phenolic compounds for both cosmetic and pharmaceutical uses.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Road crashes are present as an epidemic in road traffic and continue to grow up, where, according to World Health Organization; they cause more than 1.24 million deaths each year and 20 to 50 million non-fatal injuries, so they should represent by 2020 the third leading global cause of illness and injury. In this context, we are interested in this paper to the car-following driving behavior problem, since it alone accounts for almost 70% of road accidents, which they are caused by the incorrect judgment of the driver to keep a safe distance. Thus, we propose in this paper a decision-making model based on bi-level modeling, whose objective is to ensure the integration between road safety and the reducing travel time. To ensure this objective, we used the fuzzy logic approach to model the anticipation concept in order to extract more unobservable data from the road environment. Furthermore, we used the fuzzy logic approach in order to model the driver behaviors, in particular, the normative behaviors. The experimental results indicate that the decision to increase in velocity based on our model is ensured in the context of respecting the road safety.  相似文献

This work illustrates results obtained by implementing in a parallel computer environment the gl rate formulation of the theory of plasticity and its integration scheme as illustrated in the preceding Part I. The Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient is used as a tool for repeatedly solving linear systems of equations. Although the investigation about the performance of the workstation cluster as a parallel virtual computer is still far from being completed, it is already possible to conclude that, in such an environment, several techniques proposed for reducing the computer time required by the iterative solver are not applicable. One purpose of the work is therefore to give guidelines in terms of expected performances of the Conjugate Gradient method when applied to stiff problems, in which the condition number may shoot up to the billions. Even if the implemented computer code is not based on the most convenient rate formulation in terms of parallelizability, as shown in Part I of this work, the obtained results indicate anyway that, for some categories of structural problems, the development of a parallel, element-by-element computer code is a promising line of work.  相似文献

The increased concern regarding the reduction in female fertility and the impressive numbers of women undergoing fertility treatment support the existence of environmental factors beyond inappropriate programming of developing ovaries. Among these factors are pyrethroids, which are currently some of the most commonly used pesticides worldwide. The present study was performed to investigate the developmental effects of the pyrethroid-based insecticide allethrin on ovarian function in rat offspring in adulthood. We mainly focused on the roles of oxidative stress, apoptosis, autophagy and the related pathways in ovarian injury. Thirty-day-old Wistar albino female rats were intragastrically administered 0 (control), 34.2 or 68.5 mg/kg body weight allethrin after breeding from Day 6 of pregnancy until delivery. We found that allethrin-induced ovarian histopathological damage was accompanied by elevations in oxidative stress and apoptosis. Interestingly, the number of autophagosomes in allethrin-treated ovaries was higher, and this increase was correlated with the upregulated expression of genes and proteins related to the autophagic marker LC-3. Furthermore, allethrin downregulated the expression of PI3K, AKT and mTOR in allethrin-treated ovaries compared with control ovaries. Taken together, the findings of this study suggest that exposure to the pyrethroid-based insecticide allethrin adversely affects both the follicle structure and function in rat offspring during adulthood. Specifically, allethrin can induce excessive oxidative stress and defective autophagy-related apoptosis, probably through inactivation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, and these effects may contribute to ovarian dysfunction and impaired fertility in female offspring.  相似文献
