Evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms are generally employed to generate Pareto optimal solutions by exploring the search space. To enhance the performance, exploration by global search can be complemented with exploitation by combining it with local search. In this paper, we address the issues in integrating local search with global search such as: how to select individuals for local search; how deep the local search is performed; how to combine multiple objectives into single objective for local search. We introduce a Preferential Local Search mechanism to fine tune the global optimal solutions further and an adaptive weight mechanism for combining multi-objectives together. These ideas have been integrated into NSGA-II to arrive at a new memetic algorithm for solving multi-objective optimization problems. The proposed algorithm has been applied on a set of constrained and unconstrained multi-objective benchmark test suite. The performance was analyzed by computing different metrics such as Generational distance, Spread, Max spread, and HyperVolume Ratio for the test suite functions. Statistical test applied on the results obtained suggests that the proposed algorithm outperforms the state-of-art multi-objective algorithms like NSGA-II and SPEA2. To study the performance of our algorithm on a real-world application, Economic Emission Load Dispatch was also taken up for validation. The performance was studied with the help of measures such as Hypervolume and Set Coverage Metrics. Experimental results substantiate that our algorithm has the capability to solve real-world problems like Economic Emission Load Dispatch and is able to produce better solutions, when compared with NSGA-II, SPEA2, and traditional memetic algorithms with fixed local search steps. 相似文献

The research on light emitting polymers are an interdisciplinary zone which has challenging investigates on materials science and engineering, physics of device architecture and technology. This review addresses the wide range of tailored polymers, evolution of LED device structure for high performance, single and multicolor polymer based LEDs. Though, polymers are possessing better efficiency and easy fabrication processes, it has very low stability and short life. This study also reviews, device degradation during device fabrication and operation. 相似文献
The ubiquitous adoption of WiFi introduces large diversity in types of application requirements and topological characteristics. Consequently, considerable attention is being devoted to making WiFi networks controllable without compromising their scalability. However, the main MAC protocol of WiFi, distributed coordination function (DCF), is a contention-based protocol using random backoff. Thus, operating under DCF, the access of channel is hard to control and nonpredictable. In order to provide controllability of channel access in WiFi, we propose Rhythm, a MAC protocol that achieves scheduled WiFi efficiently using distributed contention. By achieving scheduled WiFi, channel access can be controlled by manipulating the schedule decision. We evaluate the performance of Rhythm through analysis, experiments, and case-studies. 相似文献
We describe the phenomenon of schwa-deletion in Hindi and how it is handled in the pronunciation component of a multilingual concatenative text-to-speech system. Each of the consonants in written Hindi is associated with an inherent schwa vowel which is not represented in the orthography. For instance, the Hindi word pronounced as [namak] (salt) is represented in the orthography using the consonantal characters for [n], [m], and [k]. Two main factors complicate the issue of schwa pronunciation in Hindi. First, not every schwa following a consonant is pronounced within the word. Second, in multimorphemic words, the presence of a morpheme boundary can block schwa deletion where it might otherwise occur. We propose a model for schwa-deletion which combines a general purpose schwa-deletion rule proposed in the linguistics literature (Ohala, 1983), with additional morphological analysis necessitated by the high frequency of compounds in our database. The system is implemented in the framework of finite-state transducer technology. 相似文献
Hybrid organic–inorganic nanocomposites are great candidates for display and illumination systems due to improved optoelectronic properties and photostability. This work endeavours towards the scientific study of the influence of defect-induced zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO) on the optical characteristics of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV). ZnO nanoparticles consist of many vacancies which facilitate light emission across the visible region. The green defective emission occurring due to the presence of oxygen vacancies in ZnO was used to re-excite MEH-PPV and hence, improve the luminescence quantum efficiency. The photostability of the nanocomposite was enhanced through charge transfer (prevents the formation of superoxides) and energy transfer (reduces the non-radiative decay) mechanisms.
