Flavor and oxidative stabilities were studied by organoleptic evaluation and chemical analysis of three different samples
of soybean oil: unhydrogented (I); hydrogenated with nickel catalyst (II); and hydrogenated with copper-chromium catalyst
(III). Analyses for these oils were: I II III iodine Value 138 109 113 Linolenate, % 8.3 3.3 0.4 Each oil was deodorized with
the addition of either citric acid alone or citric acid plus BHA and BHT antioxidants. Addition of antioxidants did not improve
the flavor stabilities of the oils in accelerated storage tests but did improve the flavor stabilities of II and III in light
exposure tests. All three oils that received the same additive treatment had equivalent flavor stability in both accelerated
storage and light exposure tests. However, both hydrogenation and antioxidant treatment improved oxidative stability as measured
by the Active Oxygen Method. There was good correlation between flavor score and the logarithm of the peroxide value determined
at the time of tasting.

Coxsackievirus and tritiated water were added to municipal sludges which were placed on lysimeters containing sandy soil or clay soil. It took 23 weeks during a normal Danish winter to inactivate virus from an initial 106tcid50/g sludge to a not demonstrable level. The combination of these requires a complex wafer handling; increasing not only investment costs, but also the risk of wafer breakage. Application of plasma technologies offers the possibility to manufacture crystalline silicon solar cells without any wet chemical or vacuum processes. New (inter)metallic-ceramic composites for high-temperature structural and functional applications are prepared via high-energy ball milling. During compaction by pressureless sintering, dense Al2 O3 /Ti-based alloy composites are formed that consist of inter-connected networks of the ceramic and the (inter)metallic phases. Ti-Al-V/Al2 O3 and Ti-Al-Nb/Al2 O3 composites show enhanced damage tolerance over monolithic Al2 O3 , i.e ., fracture toughnesses up to 5.6 MPa·m0.5 and bending strengths up to 527 MPa. The resistance against abrasive wear is almost doubled with respect to monolithic Al2 O3 ceramic. Electrical resistivity scales with the ceramic volume fraction and ranges between 0.3 mΩ·cm and 55.1 mΩ·cm, with only a weak temperature dependence ≤700°C. 相似文献
