A pair of coupled step-index waveguides is analyzed. Characteristic equations are obtained and used to evaluate the cutoff frequencies and coupling constants. Mode transformation at tapers is analyzed. The spectral properties of fused couplers and tapered filters for which cutoff frequencies of higher modes were observed are studied. A fiber polarization splitter is realized. A semiconductor laser with an external dispersive cavity based on the spectral selective coupler is designed  相似文献

Ni/K–MgO–ZrO2 catalysts for dry reforming of methane, with a range of Mg/Zr ratios and each containing about 10 wt% Ni, were prepared via Ni nitrate impregnation on MgO–ZrO2 supports synthesized by co-precipitation using K2CO3. It was found that a proportion of the potassium of the precipitant remained in the samples and improved the stability of the catalysts in the reaction. It was also shown that reduction of the catalysts at 1,023 K without calcination in air is necessary for stable and high activity; calcination in air at 1,073 K gives a deterioration of the catalytic properties, leading to rapid deactivation during the reaction. The order of the CH4 conversions of the reduced catalysts after 14 h on stream was as follows: Ni/K–Mg5Zr2 ~ Ni/K–Mg ≥ Ni/K–Mg2Zr5 ? Ni/K–Zr. A catalyst with 0.95 wt% K on MgO–ZrO2 with a Mg:Zr mole ratio of 5:2 showed the best resistance to deactivation. Experiments in a microbalance system showed that there was only negligible coke deposition on the surface of this sample. This behaviour was attributed to the presence of Ni nanoparticles with a diameter of less than 10 nm located on a MgO/NiO solid solution shell doped by K ions; this in turn covers a core of tetragonal ZrO2 and/or a MgO/ZrO2 solid solution. This conclusion was supported by EDS/TEM, XPS, XRD and H2 chemisorption measurements.  相似文献

To miniaturize the component base, it is necessary to develop new procedures for material processing and the laser technique is one such procedure. Structure geometry formed during laser microprocessing can be changed significantly from the geometry predetermined in the CAD model since the instrumentation settings can be not optimal. To automate the process of choosing parameters for laser microprocessing, a procedure for analyzing images that makes it possible to localize the microstructures for materials with different physical-chemical and optical properties and to obtain the information on its geometrical parameters has been developed.  相似文献

Pure and K-doped vanadia/titania prepared by different methods have been studied in order to elucidate the role of vanadia species (monomeric, polymeric, bulk) in catalytic toluene partial oxidation. The ratio of different vanadia species was controlled by treating the catalysts in diluted HNO3, which removes bulk vanadia and polymeric vanadia species, but not the monomeric ones, as was shown by FT-Raman spectroscopy and TPR in H2. Monolayer vanadia species (monomeric and polymeric) are responsible for the catalytic activity and selectivity to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid independently on the catalyst preparation method. Bulk V2O5 and TiO2 are considerably less active. Therefore, an increase of the vanadium concentration in the samples above the monolayer coverage results in a decrease of the specific rate in toluene oxidation due to the partial blockage of active monolayer species by bulk crystalline V2O5. Potassium diminishes the catalyst acidity resulting in a decrease of the total rate of toluene oxidation and suppression of deactivation. Deactivation due to coking is probably related to the Brønsted acid sites associated with the bridging oxygen in the polymeric species and bulk V2O5. Doping by K diminishes the amount of active monolayer vanadia leading to the formation of non-active K-doped monomeric vanadia species and KVO3.  相似文献

It has been found that ethylene and propylene could be effectively hydrogenated by formic acid vapour over a Pd/carbon catalyst at low temperatures (<440 K). Surface hydrogen formation from formic acid is the rate-determining step for this hydrogenation reaction. Interaction of this hydrogen with the olefins is then fast. The conversion of formic acid in the presence of either of the olefins at any temperature is higher than in their absence. This has been explained by a much lower surface hydrogen concentration in the presence of the olefins. Direct experiments have confirmed that hydrogen inhibits the formic acid decomposition. Water vapour addition has a small positive effect on the decomposition of formic acid as well as on the hydrogenation of the olefins with formic acid. Catalysts consisting of gold supported on carbon or titania are both active in the production of hydrogen from formic acid. However, in contrast to the Pd/C catalyst, neither gives hydrogenation of the olefins with this acid.  相似文献

The kinetics of N2O decomposition to gaseous nitrogen and oxygen over HZSM-5 catalysts with low content of iron (<400 ppm) under transient and steady-state conditions was investigated in the temperature range of 250–380 °C. The catalysts were prepared from the HZSM-5 with Fe in the framework upon steaming at 550 °C followed by thermal activation in He at 1050 °C. The N2O decomposition began at 280 °C. The reaction kinetics was first order towards N2O during the transient period, and of zero order under steady-state conditions. The increase of the reaction rate with time (autocatalytic behaviour) was observed up to the steady state. This increase was assigned to the catalysis by adsorbed NO formed slowly on the zeolite surface from N2O. The formation of NO was confirmed by temperature-programmed desorption at temperatures >360 °C. The amount of surface NO during the transient increases with the reaction temperature, the reaction time, and the N2O concentration in the gas phase up to a maximum value. The maximum amount of surface NO was found to be independent on the temperature and N2O concentration in the gas phase. This leads to a first-order N2O decomposition during the transient period, and to a zero-order under steady state. A kinetic model is proposed for the autocatalytic reaction. The simulated concentration–time profiles were consistent with the experimental data under transient as well as under steady-state conditions giving a proof for the kinetic model suggested in this study.  相似文献

Formation of vanadia species during the calcination of ball milled mixture of V2O5 with TiO2 was studied by Raman spectroscopy in situ and at ambient conditions. It is found that calcination in air leads to fast (1–3 h) spreading of vanadia over TiO2 followed by a slower process leading to the formation of a monolayer vanadia. The calcinated catalyst showed higher activity during toluene oxidation than the uncalcinated one, but the selectivity towards C7-oxygenated products (benzaldehyde and benzoic acid) remains unchanged. The activity of the catalysts is ascribed to the formation of vanadia species in the monolayer. The details of the parallel–consecutive reaction scheme of toluene oxidation are presented from steady-state and transient kinetics studies. Different oxygen species seem to participate in the deep and partial oxidation of toluene. Coke formation was observed during the reaction presenting an average composition C2nH1.1n. The amount of coke on the catalyst was not dependent on the calcination step and the vanadium content in the catalyst. Coke formation was seen to be responsible for the deactivation of the catalyst.  相似文献

Transient kinetics of toluene partial oxidation over V/Ti oxide catalysts   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Transient kinetics in the toluene oxidation over V/Ti oxide catalysts prepared by grafting and impregnation have been compared. V4+ cations are supposed to be the sites for the formation of electrophilic oxygen species participating in deep oxidation. Another oxygen species (probably nucleophilic) present on the oxidised catalyst surface are responsible for benzaldehyde formation. Selectivity of 80–100% can be obtained during the initial period of the reaction on the grafted catalysts in the presence of gaseous oxygen and during the interaction of toluene (without O2 in the mixture) with partially reduced catalysts.  相似文献

Deactivation kinetics of V/Ti-oxide in toluene partial oxidation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Deactivation kinetics of a V/Ti-oxide catalyst was studied in partial oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde (BA) and benzoic acid (BAc) at 523–573 K. The catalyst consisted of 0.37 monolayer of VOx species and after oxidative pre-treatment contained isolated monomeric and polymeric metavanadate-like vanadia species under dehydrated conditions as was shown by FT Raman spectroscopy. Under the reaction conditions via in situ DRIFTS fast formation of adsorbed carboxylate and benzoate species was observed accompanied by disappearance of the band of the monomeric species (2038 cm−1) (polymeric species were not controlled). Slow accumulation of maleic anhydride, coupling products and/or BAc on the surface caused deactivation of the catalyst during the reaction. Temperature-programmed oxidation (TPO) after the reaction showed formation of high amounts of CO, CO2 and water. Rate constants for the steps of the toluene oxidation were derived via mathematical modelling of reaction kinetics at low conversion and constant oxygen/toluene ratio of 20:1. The model allows predicting deactivation dynamics, steady-state rates and selectivity. The highest rate constant was found for the transformation of BA into BAc explaining a low BA yield in the reaction.  相似文献
