This paper presents a mathematical and numerical model developed for coupling the various physical phenomena (electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical) taking place in axisymmetrical induction heating processes. All three electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical models are time dependent and take full account of the electromagnetic and thermal non‐linear effect especially with magnetic materials. The electromagnetic problem is discretized and solved in the workpiece, air and inductors. The heat transfer equation and the mechanical equilibrium equations are solved in the workpiece only, both using a finite element method. The mechanical model can take into account thermoelastic–plastic behaviour for the part. The model has been successfully applied to several cases of induction heating. Low-pressure plasma spraying under an argon atmosphere was employed to deposit molybdenum and tungsten coatings on different
metallic, ceramic, and composite substrates. Molybdenum coatings ob-tained through this technique presented a homogeneous
structure with an average porosity of about 17 %. These coatings exhibited adhesion greater than 40 MPa on molybdenum and
grey cast iron (FT25) substrates. No adhesion was observed on an A1N surface regardless of the preheating temperature and/or
surface preparation. Adhesion on AIN-Mo (AM25) composite substrate, containing 25 % dispersed metal-lic phase by volume, showed
intermediate results. Tungsten coatings exhibited porosity between 10 to 12% and a typical lamellar structure. The adhesion
of tungsten coatings on molybdenum and FT25 sub-strates was around 40 MPa. 相似文献

Staphylococcus aureus, a Gram-positive organism, is responsible for numerous infections ranging in severity from skin and soft tissue infections to endocarditis and septic arthritis. Further, Staphylococcal food poisoning (SFP) caused by enterotoxigenic staphylococci is one of the main food-borne diseases. In this study, several single-seed origin clonal lines of herbs from Lamiaceae family were screened for antimicrobial applications against S. aureus. These clonal lines have consistent total phenolic content, phenolic profile and antioxidant activity as opposed to heterogenous phenolic profiles of typical herbal extracts. The clonal extracts of specific herb species were evaluated for anti- S. aureus activity. Water extracts of clonal lemon balm had the highest anti- S. aureus activity followed by clonal extracts of rosemary RoLA, sage, oregano, rosemary Ro-6, rosemary RoK-2 and chocolate mint. The anti- S. aureus activity of the water extracts correlated with gallic acid and caffeic acid content, which in pure form showed high anti- S. aureus activity. Based on the rationale that gallic acid and caffeic acid were likely proline analogs affecting proline oxidation, the countering effect of proline to overcome their anti- S. aureus activity was evaluated. Results indicated proline can overcome the inhibitory effects of gallic acid and caffeic acid. These results point to the likely role of phenolic oxidation via proline dehydrogenase, which could be an important target for inhibition by phenolic phytochemicals behaving as proline analog mimics. This mode of regulation by phenolics at the bacterial proline dehydrogenase in the plasma membrane may be an important antimicrobial defense in plants and has consequences for disruption of critical energy metabolism of invading bacterial pathogen. This rationale could be used to design new antimicrobial strategies against S. aureus and other relevant bacterial pathogens. 相似文献

Kaolinites with various degrees of structural order and iron content were heated and subsequently analyzed via electron paramagnetic resonance. Iron was present in two different states in the heated materials, either as dilute structural Fe3+ ions or in concentrated Fe3+ phases. During metakaolinization, the environment of dilute Fe3+ ions changed, following modifications of the Al3+ coordination, and the Fe3+ concentration increased. With the breakdown of metakaolinite, the diffusion of Fe3+ ions induced their exsolution in superparamagnetic iron-rich domains (Fe3+ clusters in γ-Al2 O3 and/or Fe3+ oxide nanophases), which produced a decrease in the dilute Fe3+ concentration. The subsequent breakdown of γ-Al2 O3 and the formation of mullite made the dilute Fe3+ concentration increase again, because of the incorporation of Fe3+ ions in the mullite structure. 相似文献

CF4 and CO2 plasma treatments have been used to modify the barrier properties of a polyamide 12 (PA12) towards permeant molecules, which
present opposing characteristics: water and toluene. The surface modifications were observed by atomic force microscopy, X-ray
photoelectron spectroscopy and surface Gibbs function measurements. Both treatments lead to different surfaces; one is rather
hydrophobic (with CF4) whereas the other is more hydrophilic (with CO2. The effect of this modification on permeametric properties has been investigated by liquid water and liquid toluene permeation
measurements. Our results show opposite effects of the two treatments. CF4 plasma treatment leads to a reduction of water and toluene permeability. With CO2 plasma treatment, in terms of permeation, two different behaviours were observed, an increase and a decrease of permeancy
for water and toluene respectively. These results are in full agreement with those obtained for the surface characterization,
and confirms change in the polymeric surface affinity for the permeant leading to a variation of the materials permeancy. 相似文献

A grid has been pulled through a column of liquid helium at speeds as high as 1 m/s and at temperatures as low as 90 mK. A
300 micrometer Ge thermometer with response time of less than 1 ms measured the temperature rise resulting from the decay
of the turbulence generated. It is believed that homogeneous, isotropic quantum turbulence was formed, since mesh Reynolds
numbers in excess of 100,000 were created. The rates and power spectra of the energy increases detected in the helium after
grid-pulls are determined. The results are compared to other quantum and classical results, and to the theory of the Kelvin
wave cascade in a viscosity-free fluid.

This article studied the compatibility of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMACl) in a dilute aqueous solution. At a total mixture concentration and a constant molecular weight of PDADMACl, it was found that interpolymer associations increase with the molecular weight and decrease with the degree of hydrolysis of the PVA sample (87–89 and 98–99%). From these results, it can be deduced that the compatibility of PVA and PDADMACl is due to specific intermolecular interactions that could be assigned mainly to electrostatic interactions between hydroxyl groups within PVA chains and ion atoms within PDADMACl. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Helicobacter pylori infection has been implicated as a major cause of gastric inflammation, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric cancer. While antibiotics have been the mainstay of current therapies for gastrointestinal disease linked to H. pylori infection, negative side-effects and antibiotic resistance issues have strengthened the need for alternative therapeutic strategies. In the search for new antimicrobial agents, much recent research has focused on the potential of dietary phenolic compounds. In this study, soybean extracts enriched for phenolic content via sprouting or solid-state bioprocessing by the dietary fungus Rhizopus oligosporus were investigated for in vitro antibacterial activity against H. pylori. Helicobacter pylori growth inhibition by soybean extracts was increased most effectively by 2 d sprouting or 2 d R. oligosporus bioprocessing. Anti-H. pylori activity was not associated with antioxidant activity, but was linked to extracts when activity of the phenolic-polymerizing enzymes guaiacol peroxidase (in sprouted soybean extracts) and laccase (in R. oligosporus-bioprocessed soybean extracts) were the highest. This suggests the potential involvement of polymeric phenolics in the anti-H. pylori activity of soybean extracts and possible mechanisms for such action are discussed. 相似文献
