Limonene‐derived polycarbonate‐based alkyd resins (ARs) have been prepared by copolymerization of limonene dioxide with CO2, catalysed by a β‐diiminate zinc–bis(trimethylsilyl)amido complex, and subsequent chemical modification with soybean oil fatty acids using triphenylethylphosphonium bromide as the catalyst. This quantitative partial modification was realized via epoxy–carboxylic acid chemistry, affording ARs with higher oil lengths, lower polydispersities and higher glass transition temperatures (Tg) in comparison to a conventional polyester AR based on phthalic acid, multifunctional polyol pentaerythritol and soybean fatty acid. The novel limonene polycarbonate AR and the conventional polyester AR were evaluated as coatings and both the physical drying (without the presence of the oxidative drying accelerator Borchi® Oxy Coat) and chemical curing (with Borchi® Oxy Coat) processes of these coatings were monitored by measuring the König hardness and complex modulus development with time. A better performance was obtained for the alkyd paint containing polycarbonates modified with fatty acids (FA‐PCs), which showed a faster chemical drying, a higher König hardness and a higher Tg in coating evaluation, demonstrating that the fully renewable FA‐PCs are promising resins for alkyd paint applications. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

This study examined the effect of active pre-warming on speed and quality of performance during simulated firefighting exercise. Twelve male firefighters performed two trials in counterbalanced order. They were either pre-warmed by 20-min cycling at 1.5 Watt kg1 body mass (WARM) or remained thermoneutral (CON) prior to a simulated firefighting activity. After the pre-warming, gastrointestinal temperature (P < 0.001), skin temperature (P = 0.002), and heart rate (P < 0.001) were higher in WARM than in CON. During the firefighting activity, rating of perceived exertion, thermal sensation and discomfort were higher for WARM than for CON. Finish time of the firefighting activity was similar, but the last task of the activity was completed slower in WARM than in CON (P = 0.04). In WARM, self-reported performance quality was lower than in CON (P = 0.04). It is concluded that pre-warming reduces the speed during the last part of simulated firefighting activity and reduces self-reported quality of performance.  相似文献

The free fatty acid (FFA) content of anchovy oil and the residual lipids in anchovy meal were studied as a function of the length and temperature of the delay between catching and processing the fish. It was found that there was a marked increase in the FFA content of the press oil and the residual meal lipids as a result of increased-delay between catching and processing. It was also found that — other things being equal — lean anchovy yielded oils with higher FFA values than fatty anchovy. Calculation showed that the phospholipid level of an anchovy meal may serve as a useful quality index.  相似文献

The phosphorous content of fish oil was determined by acid hydrolysis for 168 h (one week) in 2 M hydrochloric acid at 120°C in glass tubes, followed by filtration and molybdenum blue colour development in an aliquot of the filtrate. The method is regarded as a convenient routine laboratory procedure, and the results obtained by the method are in good agreement with those obtained with the ashing procedure of the American Oil Chemists' Society. The determination has been satisfactorily applied to the analysis of many South African fish oils.  相似文献

Summary Sodium, potassium, arsenic, selenium and tin have been determined in 38 different types of domestic and imported fresh fruits. All samples (n=242) were analysed for Na und K whereas a limited number of samples (n=85) of each fruit type was selected for the determination of As, Se and Sn. The median contents, in mass fractions of the edible portion, found for fresh fruits are: Na<0.001%; K 0.17%; As 4 g/kg; Se 2 g/kg and Sn< 0.05 mg/kg. The corresponding 90th percentile values are: Na 0,002%, K 0.34%; As 12 g/kg; Se 10 g/kg and Sn 0.10 mg/kg. Results for selenium reported here differ substantially from those given for a number of fresh fruits in the German Food Composition Tables 1986/1987. The average consumption of 129 g fresh fruit by Dutch citizens in the age category of 22–75 years contributes, in general, marginally to the total daily dietary intake of sodium, arsenic, selenium and tin. Fresh fruit can contribute substantially, up to 23%, to the average oral daily intake of potassium.

Zusammenfassung Natrium, Kalium, Arsen, Selen und Zinn wurden in 38 verschiedenen Sorten von in- und ausländischem Frischobst bestimmt. Alle Proben (n=242) wurden auf Na und K untersucht; während nur eine beschränkte Zahl von Proben (n=85) für die Bestimmung von As, Se und Sn ausgewählt wurde. Die Medianwerte, in Massenanteilen der eßbaren Portionen, betrugen für frisches Obst: Na<0,001%; K 0,17% As 4 g/kg; Se 2 g/kg und Sn<0,05 mg/kg. Die dazugehörigen Werte für den 90 Perzentil sind: Na 0,002%; K 0,34%; As 12 g/kg; Se 10 g/kg und Sn 0,10 mg/kg. Für einige Obstsorten wurden Selenwerte erhalten, die erheblich von denen der Deutschen Nährwert-Tabellen 1986/1987 abweichen. Frischobst, dessen Verzehr für Einwohner der Niederlande in der Altersklasse von 22–75 Jahre im Schnitt 129 g/Tag beträgt, liefert einen vernachlässigbaren Beitrag zur täglichen Einnahme von Natrium, Arsen, Selen und Zinn; für Kalium hingegen kann dieser Beitrag, mit bis zu 23%, erheblich sein.

Abstract— In this article, second‐generation liquid‐crystal displays (LCDs) made by Paintable LCD technology is presented. With this technology, LCDs are manufactured by a sequence of simple coating and UV curing processes. Since the process can be carried out on plastic substrates and the stack of optical layers is only tens of micrometers thick, the resulting LCDs are ultra‐thin and flexible.  相似文献

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an essential fatty acid necessary for many biochemical, cellular and physiological functions in fish. However, high dietary levels of DHA increase free radical injury in sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) larvae muscle, even when vitamin E (α-tocopherol, α-TOH) is increased. Therefore, the inclusion of other nutrients with complementary antioxidant functions, such as vitamin C (ascorbic acid, vitC), could further contribute to prevent these lesions. The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of vitC inclusion (3,600?mg/kg) in high DHA (5?% DW) and α-TOH (3,000?mg/kg) microdiets (diets 5/3,000 and 5/3,000?+?vitC) in comparison to a control diet (1?% DHA DW and 1,500?mg/kg of α-TOH; diet 1/1,500) on sea bass larvae growth, survival, whole body biochemical composition and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) content, muscle morphology, skeletal deformities and antioxidant enzymes, insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and myosin expression (MyHC). Larvae fed diet 1/1,500 showed the best performance in terms of total length, incidence of muscular lesions and ossification degree. IGFs gene expression was elevated in 5/3,000 diet larvae, suggesting an increased muscle mitogenesis that was confirmed by the increase in the mRNA copies of MyHC. vitC effectively controlled oxidative damages in muscle, increased α-TOH larval contents and reduced TBARS content and the occurrence of skull deformities. The results of the present study showed the antioxidant synergism between vitamins E and C when high contents of DHA are included in sea bass larvae diets.  相似文献

A new model, named the crossover‐UNIQUAC model, has been proposed based on the crossover procedure for predicting constant‐pressure liquid–liquid equilibria (LLE). In this manner, critical fluctuations were incorporated into the classical UNIQUAC equation. Coexistence curves were estimated for systems having a diverse range of asymmetries. These systems included the LLE of five different mixtures, composed of nitrobenzene with one of the members of the alkane homologous family (either pentane, octane, decane, dodecane, or tetradecane), as well as an extra system having a different chemical nature, namely the mixture of n‐perfluorohexane and hexane, to further check the validity of the proposed approach. Using these nonideal mixtures, the validity of the new model was investigated within wide ranges, covering near‐critical to regions falling far away from the critical point. The graphical trends, as well as the quantitative comparison with experimental data indicated the good agreement of the proposed model results with the experimental data. A maximum AARD% value of 3.97% was obtained in calculating molar compositions by the proposed model for such challenging systems covering noncritical, as well as critical regions. In addition, to show the strength of the proposed crossover approach to describe properties other than LLE, molar heat capacities were investigated for the system of nitrobenzene + dodecane. © 2015 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 61: 3094–3103, 2015  相似文献
