Within the framework of solvent diffusion in glassy polymers, this paper concerns an experimental study of toluene sorption and desorption in P(MMA/nBMA) copolymer films. Gravimetric experiments (quartz microbalance) are performed in a pressure and temperature controlled chamber. Coupling between solvent diffusion and viscoelastic relaxation is taken into account through the time-dependent solubility model, based on the Fick diffusion equation inside the film and a time variable boundary condition at the film/vapor interface. Viscoelastic relaxation is described by a first order model or by a stretched exponential. In the present paper, a special focus is given on the set inversion method used to analyze the data and to derive well-defined uncertainty intervals upon each determined quantity, taking all the uncertainties on the weight measurements into account. We find that the mutual diffusion coefficient strongly decreases in the glassy state, of about two orders of magnitude for a 0.05 decrease in the solvent weight fraction.  相似文献

In light‐emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), the position of the emission zone (EZ) is not predefined via a multilayer architecture design, but governed by a complex motion of electrical and ionic charges. As a result of the evolution of doped charge transport layers that enclose a dynamic intrinsic region until steady state is reached, the EZ is often dynamic during turn‐on. For thick sandwich polymer LECs, a continuous change of the emission color provides a direct visual indication of a moving EZ. Results from an optical and electrical analysis indicate that the intrinsic zone is narrow at early times, but starts to widen during operation, notably well before the electrical device optimum is reached. Results from numerical simulations demonstrate that the only precondition for this event to occur is that the mobilities of anions (μa) and cations (μc) are not equal, and the direction of the EZ shift dictates μc > μa. Quantitative ion profiles reveal that the displacement of ions stops when the intrinsic zone stabilizes, confirming the relation between ion movement and EZ shift. Finally, simulations indicate that the experimental current peak for constant‐voltage operation is intrinsic and the subsequent decay does not result from degradation, as commonly stated.  相似文献

Mixed ionic–electronic conducting $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} Fe_{1 - x} B_x O_{3 - \delta } $ (B: Al, Cr, Zr, Ga, Ti, Sn, Ta, V, Mg, and In with x?=?0, 0.1, 0.2) perovskite materials were produced via solid-state synthesis. In order to study the effect of B-site substitution on the expansion behavior of these materials, their thermal expansion in air up to 900°C and isothermal expansion at the same temperature from air to Ar were measured by dilatometry. Ti and Ta were found to be the most effective substitutions in suppressing the isothermal expansion. The isothermal expansion at 900°C from air to Ar was reduced by 50% by substitution of 20% Ti or 10% Ta. Therefore, these compositions were further characterized by 4-probe total DC conductivity and permeation measurements under air/Ar gradient. The total conductivity of $La_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} FeO_{3 - \delta } $ was decreased by more than one order of magnitude at low temperatures and from 430 S/cm, which is the maximum, to around 100 S/cm at 500°C with the addition of Ti and Ta. The normalized oxygen permeation of LSF at 900°C decreased from 0.18 to 0.05 μmol/cm2s and 0.07 μmol/cm2s with the substitution of 20% Ti and 10% Ta, respectively.  相似文献

This paper presents a method for the identification of hardening parameters and Weibull-parameters in the brittle and brittle–ductile transition region. A small-punch-test device is developed for hot cells, where a miniaturised disk-like specimen is manufactured and deformed by a spherical punch until failure. Its load–displacement-curve is analysed regarding its information about the material behaviour. Using neural networks, an identification routine is developed, which avoids time-consuming calculations with FEM during an optimisation algorithm. Identified material properties are compared with data from tensile tests. Using the identified hardening parameters, Weibull-parameters are calculated for temperatures at which cleavage fracture occurs.  相似文献

An alternative way to process data from polarization measurements for fuel cell model validation is proposed. The method is based on re‐ and subsampling of IV data, with which repetitive estimations are obtained for the model parameters. This way statistics such as standard deviations and correlations between the parameters may be experimentally derived. Histograms may also be produced, approximating the probability distributions that they follow. Two experimental case studies are discussed. In the first case, observations are made on the behavior of the parameter values for two mathematical models. As the number of data points (measurement points) employed in the estimation of the parameters increases, parameters with high variances converge to specific values. On the contrary, parameters with small variances diverge linearly. The parameters' histograms do not usually follow normal distributions rather they show a connection between the number of peaks in the graphs and correlations of the parameters. The second case study is an application on a fast degraded SOFC button cell, where the values and the histograms of the parameters are compared before and after degradation.  相似文献

Recent studies on animal alarm signaling have shown that alarm calls generally are not uniform, but may vary depending on the type and intensity of threat. While alarm call variability has been studied intensively in birds and mammals, little is known about such variation in insects. We investigated variability in alarm signaling in aphids, group-living insect herbivores. Under attack, aphids release droplets containing a volatile alarm pheromone, (E)-β-farnesene (EBF), that induces specific escape behavior in conspecifics. We used a handheld gas chromatograph (zNose?), which allows real-time volatile analysis, to measure EBF emission by pea aphids, Acyrthosiphon pisum, under attack from different predators, lacewing or ladybird larvae. We demonstrate that aphid alarm signaling is affected by the predator species attacking. Ladybirds generally elicited smaller EBF emission peaks and consumed aphids more quickly, resulting in lower total EBF emission compared to lacewing attacks. In 52 % of the replicates with lacewings and 23 % with ladybirds, no EBF was detectable in the headspace, although aphids secreted cornicle droplets after attack. We, therefore, examined EBF amounts contained in these droplets and the aphid body. While all aphid bodies always contained EBF, many secreted droplets did not. Our experiments show that alarm signaling in insects can be variable, and both the attacker as well as the attacked may affect alarm signal variation. While underlying mechanisms of such variation in aphid-predator interactions need to be investigated in more detail, we argue that at least part of this variation may be adaptive for the predator and the aphid.  相似文献
