Theoretical analysis of thermodynamical potentials relevant for water vapour transfer processes in the system: wet material - moist air, pertormed in the paper. leads to the conclusion that masimal possible isothermal decrease of chemical potential of water vapour in the moist air might be considered as the measure of humid air afinity to unbound water vapour. The concept developed provides better estimation of the drying ability of humid air of different states, as well as tracing Lines of equal values of humid air drying potential into psychrometric charts and constructing several new types of diagrams for convective drying processes in which air is used as the drying medium.  相似文献

The interaction spaces between instructors and learners in the traditional face-to-face classroom environment are being changed by the diffusion and adoption of many forms of computer-based pedagogy. An integrated understanding of these evolving interaction spaces together with how they interconnect and leverage learning are needed to develop meaningful strategies for effective teaching and learning. The 18i collaborative interaction spaces model was designed based on constructivist principles, and describes 18 mixed instructor–learner spaces contextualized at a finer operational scale that makes explicit a wider range of interactions. The model was implemented during the life cycle of an undergraduate GIS-based multimedia cartography course. One output was the generation of a repository of rule-based trajectory plans for rapid planning and problem solving. The model provides an integrated workflow to manage course contents, products, interactions, individuality, and learning styles in blended environments.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize Rudeanu’s results from [13] to Post algebras. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a Post function f such that the set of solutions of equation f(x) = 0 is a given interval. Time-domain analysis of the transient current distribution along parallel wires located at different heights above a real ground is presented. The numerical solution is carried out via time-domain variant of the Galerkin–Bubnov indirect boundary element method (GB-IBEM) of solution extended to handle the case of arbitrary array of parallel wires located in a homogenous lossless medium, above a perfectly conducting (PEC) ground, or above a dielectric half-space. The mathematical formulation is based on the set of coupled space-time integral equations of the Hallen type. Some illustrative numerical results being compared to the results obtained via other methods wherever possible are presented.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to examine the growth inhibitory effects of methanolic leaf and fruit extracts of L. vulgare on HCT-116 cells over different time periods and their synergistic effect with a Pd(apox) complex. The antiproliferative activity of plant extracts alone or in combination with the Pd(apox) complex was determined using MTT cell viability assay, where the IC(50) value was used as a parameter of cytotoxicity. Results show that antiproliferative effects of L. vulgare extracts increase with extension of exposure time, with decreasing IC(50) values, except for 72 h where the IC(50) values for methanolic leaf extract were lower than for the fruit extract. The Pd(apox) complex alone had a weak antiproliferative effect, but combination with L. vulgare extracts caused stronger effects with lower IC(50) values than with L. vulgare extracts alone. The type of cell death was explored by fluorescence microscopy using the acridin orange/ethidium bromide method. Treatments with plant extracts caused typical apoptotic morphological changes in HCT-116 cells and co-treatments with Pd(apox) complex caused higher levels of apoptotic cells than treatment with plant extracts alone. The results indicate that L. vulgare is a considerable source of natural bioactive substances with antiproliferative activity on HCT-116 cells and which have a substantial synergistic effect with the Pd(apox) complex.  相似文献

Benzodiazepine derivatives are prescribed in large quantities globally and are potentially new emerging environmental contaminants. Unfortunately, a dearth of data exists concerning occurrence, persistence and fate in the environment. This paper redresses this by reviewing existing literature, assessing the occurrence of selected benzodiazepine anxiolytics (diazepam, oxazepam and bromazepam) in wastewater influent and effluent and surface water from Slovenia, evaluating their removal during water treatment and identifying the transformation products formed during water treatment. Their occurrence was monitored in hospital effluent, river water and in wastewater treatment plant influent and effluent. The study reveals the presence of benzodiazepine derivatives in all samples with the highest amounts in hospital effluents: 111 ng L−1, 158 ng L−1 and 72 ng L−1 for diazepam, bromazepam and oxazepam, respectively. Removal efficiencies with respect to biological treatment of diazepam were 16-18% (oxic), 18-32% (anoxic → oxic), 53-76% (oxic → anoxic) and 83% (oxic → anoxic → oxic → anoxic cascade bioreactors), while the removal oxazepam was 20-24% under anoxic conditions. Coupled biological and photochemical treatment followed by the adsorption to activated carbon resulted in a removal efficiency of 99.99%. Results reveal the recalcitrant nature of benzodiazepine derivatives and suggest that only combinational treatment is sufficient to remove them. In addition, eight novel diazepam and four novel oxazepam transformation products are reported.  相似文献

Leptin, the protein product of the obese (ob) gene, has been suggested to play a role in the regulation of food intake. As depressive episodes are frequently characterized by loss of appetite, reduced food intake and weight loss, altered leptin secretion might also be expected in patients with depression. Therefore, we examined nocturnal (10.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m.) secretion of leptin, cortisol, ACTH and growth hormone (GH) in a group of 15 patients with depression and age- and sex-matched controls (age range 23-71 years). In addition, the effects of pulsatile administration of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), thought to be an endogenous antagonist of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), which in turn is believed to play a critical role for the pathophysiology of depression, on nocturnal hormone secretion were assessed. Patients with depression showed a trend towards elevated nocturnal cortisol secretion (F = 3.8, p < 0.05). Nocturnal serum leptin was significantly higher in patients, despite a reported weight loss (F = 8, p < 0.05), but showed the same sexual dimorphism as in controls (F = 20.9, p < 0.01). No significant differences were seen between patients and controls with regard to plasma GH and ACTH. GHRH treatment increased GH secretion in both patients and controls, while the other hormones were not affected. Furthermore, serum leptin was correlated with body mass index (BMI) in controls, but not in patients with depression, supporting an altered regulation of leptin secretion in depressive illness. Finally, we provide some evidence that in young female patients the normal nocturnal leptin surge is blunted. As glucocorticoids can prevent the fasting-induced decline in serum leptin, we propose that hypercortisolism in depression might counteract the reduction in leptin secretion caused by decreased food intake and weight loss. Elevated serum leptin in depression might in turn further promote CRH release, as shown in animals and, hence, contribute to HPA system hyperactivity seen in depression.  相似文献
