The effect of applying vibration to a melt on the behaviour of bifilm defects in A356 and A357 melts was studied using a reduced pressure test technique. The results showed that vibrating a melt can have a dual effect on bifilms. This effect depends on the rate of phase transformations that occur in the oxide films. If the transformation occurs fast enough then the vibration would facilitate the formation of bonding between the layers of bifilm defects by causing the atmosphere of the defects to be consumed faster. Otherwise, the vibration might facilitate the diffusion of hydrogen into the atmosphere of the defects, and hence prevent or delay the formation of bonding between the oxide layers.  相似文献

This study proposes a versatile criterion for estimating quality of images in electrical impedance tomography. The point spread function (PSF) is calculated throughout the domain based on the scattering of energy as responses to a small anomaly spirally moved from the centre to the boundary. The proposed PSF is a measure of weighted spatial variance (WSV) of the conductivity over the whole domain. For each element, the weighting factor is a normalized multiplication of the area of that element by its square intensity. The WSV collectively incorporates all image attributes, i.e., spatial resolution, artifact, amplitude response, positioning error and shape deformation. The location of artifacts, which significantly influences reconstructed images in reality, is taken into account as well. The results illustrate that the proposed measure is more tolerant than existing criteria in evaluating performance of EIT systems in both theory and practice.  相似文献

The authors aimed to design nanofibrous (NF) scaffolds that facilitate odontogenic and osteogenic differentiation of human dental pulp-derived mesenchymal stem cells (DPSCs) in vitro. For this purpose, hydroxyapatite (HA)–loaded poly (L-lactic acid)/poly (?-caprolactone) (PLLA:PCL 2;1) blend NFs were prepared using the electrospinning method. Alizarin red activity and cell viability were evaluated by MTT assay, and SEM revealed the proliferation properties of NF scaffolds. QRT-PCR results demonstrated that HA-loaded PLLA/PCL can lead to osteoblast/odontoblast differentiation in DPSCs through the up-regulation of related genes, thus indicating that electrospun biodegradable PCL/PLA/HA has remarkable prospects as scaffolds for bone and tooth tissue engineering.  相似文献

An electrochemical approach to nanoporous film-based gold catalyst design using the underpotential deposition and redox replacement technique is presented. The procedure consisted of the underpotential deposition (UPD) of copper on the gold nanoporous film, with subsequent replacement of the copper by palladium at open circuit in a palladium containing solution. The resulting electrode was studied using cyclic voltammetry and scanning electron microscopy. The electrocatalytic activity of as-prepared palladium nanoporous gold film electrodes toward the oxygen reduction reaction is presented.  相似文献

The phenomenon of localized damage of aluminum oxide surface in the presence of halide anions was scrutinized at an atomistic level, through the cluster approach and density functional theory. The phenomenon was also investigated empirically through Tafel polarization plots and scanning electron microscopy. A distinct behavior witnessed in the fluoride medium was justified through the hard-soft acid-base principle. The atomistic investigations revealed the greatest potency for chloride entrance into the metal oxide lattice and rationalized to the severity of damage. The interaction of halide anions with the oxide surface causing some displacements on the position of Al atoms provides a mechanistic insight of the phenomenon.  相似文献

One hundred samples of dairy products, i.e. UHT milk, sour cream, Ras, Cheddar and Domiati cheeses, available in Cairo and Giza governorates were collected and examined for standard plate count, psychrotrophic bacterial count and proteolytic psychrotrophic bacterial count. Proteolytic psychrotrophic bacteria isolates (213 cultures) were identified to the different species. The highest numbers of standard plate count, psychrotrophic bacterial count and proteolytic psychrotrophic bacterial count, 32 × 107, 62 × 106 and 71 × 105 cfu/g, respectively, were found in the sour cream samples. The Gram-negative isolates (61 cultures) were identified to the different species among the genera Pseudomonas, Alcaligenes, Flavobacterium, Citrobacter, Enterobacter and Proteus. The Gram-positive isolates (152 cultures) belonged to Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Microbacterium and Brevibacterium.  相似文献

Most soccer players have a favoured foot for kicking the ball, and it is believed that this preference may lead to an asymmetry in the strength and flexibility of the lower extremities. This study was designed to determine whether asymmetry in strength and flexibility are present in the legs of soccer players.Forty-one elite and sub-elite soccer players (age 23.4 +/- 3.8 years; height 1.81 +/- 0.06 m; body mass 81.7 +/- 9.9 kg) were studied (data are presented as mean +/- SD). The dynamic strength of knee flexors (hamstrings) and knee extensors (quadriceps) was measured using an isokinetic dynamometer at angular velocities of 1.05, 2.09, 5.23 rad/s (in a concentric mode) and 2.09 rad/s (in an eccentric mode). The concentric strength ratio (hamstrings(conc)/quadriceps(conc)) and the dynamic control ratio (hamstrings(ecc)/quadriceps(conc)) were computed. Hip joint flexibility (in flexion) was measured using a goniometer.A significant difference between the preferred and non-preferred leg was found in the knee flexors at 2.09 rad/s (119 +/- 22 versus 126 +/- 24 Nm; P < 0.05) and for the dynamic control ratio (0.79 +/- 0.13 versus 0.84 +/- 0.16 Nm; P < 0.05). In both cases the knee flexors of the preferred leg were weaker than those of the non-preferred leg. A total of 28 of the 41 players (68%) had significant musculoskeletal abnormality (imbalance >10%) in one or more specific muscle groups. No significant differences were found in flexibility of the hip joint between the preferred and non-preferred leg (P > 0.05).It is concluded that the lower strength of the knee flexor muscles of the preferred leg may be associated with the differential use of these muscle during the kicking action and thus constitutes a unique training effect associated with soccer. This in turn can lead to muscular imbalance which is generally regarded as an injury risk factor.  相似文献

Testing and detecting potential defects in works of art is usually required to cause minimal or no damage; industrial Radiography Testing (RT) is often the method of choice provided the images are of the required high quality and yield high defect detection sensitivity. Various digital image processing methods can be employed to achieve improved image quality and information extraction as required. The level and nature of the noise in the RT images is usually unknown. In addition to the different noises, the image quality is degraded by the blurring effect. In this study, a modified form of the Fast Iterative Shrinkage-Thresholding Algorithm (FISTA) with quadratic regularization strategy was developed and applied to remove the blurring. The output of the application of the method to number RT images of five art objects was evaluated by industrial radiography and antiquities experts. It was confirmed that the applied method was efficient and improved image quality and defect detection.  相似文献
