This paper presents the assessment of sustainable yield in the Huaibei karst water area of Anhui province, China. A review
of sustainable yield definition is introduced first in this paper, and sustainable development in karst areas is more difficult
due to the complicated hydrogeologic conditions. General hydrogeology of the study area is provided to characterize hydraulic
connections between the karst aquifer and an overlying porous aquifer. Groundwater level declines continuously due to over-exploitation
of the karst groundwater, and two layers of groundwater dropping funnel were formed in Huaibei. These problems not only threaten
the eco-geo-environment, but also compromise the water utilization which depends on the shallow porous water. A “critical
water level” is proposed in this study to assess the sustainable yield, and it is determined by the historical exploitation
data which represent the relationship between the karst water and the shallow porous water uses. A three layer Artificial
Neural Network (ANN) model is used to understand the complex relationship of the karst water level and its influencing factors.
Precipitation, exploitation and water level of latest period are chosen as the input nodes, seasonal records of water level
are simulated by the ANN model. The sustainable yield is calculated by the trail-and-error adjusting method, and is equal
to the pumping rate when the “critical water level” is maintained. The rate of 30.05 MCM/a is the sustainable yield for the
Huaibei karst area in 2008, and it is less than the real pumping rate of 35.92 MCM/a. This assessment is meaningful to the

This study presents the rutting performance results of full-scale pavement test sections subjected to F-15E and C-17 aircraft wheels at two different temperatures. Pavement structures for the tests were constructed under shelter in the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's (ERDC) pavement test facility. The full-scale test results are used to validate viscoelastic, viscoplastic and hardening-relaxation constitutive relationships implemented in the Pavement Analysis Using Nonlinear Damage Approach (PANDA) model. PANDA is a mechanistic-based model which incorporates nonlinear viscoelastic, viscoplastic, hardening-relaxation, viscodamage, moisture-induced damage and ageing constitutive relationships. Results of dynamic modulus and different repeated creep-recovery laboratory tests are analysed to extract the parameters associated with viscoelastic, viscoplastic and hardening-relaxation constitutive relationships implemented in PANDA. Once calibrated, PANDA is used to predict the rutting performance observed in full-scale pavement test sections. The simulation results illustrate that PANDA is capable of predicting the rutting of airfield pavements subjected to heavy aircraft wheel loads at intermediate and high temperatures. It is shown that PANDA successfully predicts the effect of shear flow and upheaval at the edges of the wheel. The data from simulation suggested that PANDA, once calibrated, can provide insight into the critical locations of tensile and compressive stresses within the pavement structure. PANDA simulations not only provide a tool for evaluating existing structures, but also can be used in designing more sustainable pavement structures and materials. 相似文献

Preceramic polymer resins are attractive for the 3D printing of net-shaped ceramic components. Recently various processes have been demonstrated for 3D printing of polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs). Ultimately in these processes, the process outcomes strongly depend on the process parameters. In particular, for PDCs the ceramic density, and ceramic yield are affected by the catalyst concentration and cross-linking duration. Here, we use thermal analysis and FTIR to quantify the interrelation of the process parameters on the process outcome for polysilazanes and demonstrate 3D printing of PDC components based on the best-identified process parameters. The single-photon strong coupling in the deep-resolved sideband of the optomechanical system induces photon blockade (PB) effect. For the PB cavity, an initial mechanical coherent state evolves into superposition of phonon cat states entangled with the cavity Fock states. Measurement of the cavity photon number states produces phonon even and odd cat states. The information leakage effect of two photon states on the fidelity of cat states is calculated, it is shown that for low average phonon number this effect is negligible and decreases by increasing the two photon cavity state. The Lindblad equation is solved numerically to obtain the environmental effects on the fidelity of cat states. 相似文献
