In the context of the high-level radioactive waste disposal CIGEO, the corrosion rate due to microbially influenced corrosion (MIC) has to be evaluated. In France, it is envisaged to dispose of high- and intermediate-level long-lived radioactive waste at a depth of 500 m in a deep geological disposal, drilled in the Callovo-Oxfordian claystone (Cox) formation. To do so, a carbon steel casing will be inserted inside disposal cells, which are horizontal tunnels drilled in the Cox. A specific cement grout will be injected between the carbon steel casing and the claystone. A study was conducted to evaluate the possibility of MIC on carbon steel in the foreseeable high radioactive waste disposal. The corrosiveness of various environments was investigated at 50°C and 80°C with or without microorganisms enriched from samples of Andra's underground research laboratory. The monitoring of corrosion during the experiments was ensured using gravimetric method and real-time corrosion monitoring using sensors based on the measurements of the electrical resistance. The corrosion data were completed with microbiological analyses including cultural and molecular characterizations.  相似文献

From September 2002 to October 2010, the Envisat radar altimeter surveyed Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets on a 35 day repeat orbit, providing a unique data set for ice sheet mass balance studies. Up to 85 repeat cycles are available and the whole Envisat data set may be along-track processed in order to provide height variability and trend with a good spatial resolution for the objectives of ice sheet survey.

Soon, a joint Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales/Indian Space Research Organisation mission, SARAL (Satellite with Argos and AltiKa), with the AltiKa payload on board, will be launched on exactly the same orbit (less than 1 km of the nomimal orbit in the across-track direction). This will allow an extension of previous European Remote Sensing (ERS) satellite, ERS-1 and ERS-2, and Envisat missions of the European Space Agency (ESA), in particular from the point of view of ice altimetry. However, AltiKa operates in the Ka band (36.8 GHz), a higher frequency than the classical Ku band (13.6 GHz), leading to important modifications and potential improvements in the interactions between radar wave and snow-pack.

In this paper, a synthesis is presented of all available information relevant to ice altimetry scientific purposes as derived from the Envisat mission: mean and temporal derivatives of the height ? but also of the backscatter and of the two waveform parameters ? snow-pack change corrections, across-track surface slope at 1 km scale, etc. The spatial and temporal variability of ice sheet surface elevation is investigated with the help of the high-resolution Envisat along-track observations. We show that at least 50 repeat cycles are needed to reach the required accuracy for the elevation trend. It is thus advocated as potentially highly beneficial for SARAL/AltiKa as a follow-on mission. Moreover, the novel characteristics of SARAL/AltiKa are promising in improving our understanding of snow penetration impact.  相似文献

Fracture of rubber‐like materials is still an open problem. Indeed, it deals with modelling issues (crack growth law, bulk behaviour) and computational issues (robust crack growth in 2D and 3D, incompressibility). The present study focuses on the application of the eXtended Finite Element Method (X‐FEM) to large strain fracture mechanics for plane stress problems. Two important issues are investigated: the choice of the formulation used to solve the problem and the determination of suitable enrichment functions. Many systems can be described using graphs, or networks. Detecting communities in these networks can provide information about the underlying structure and functioning of the original systems. Yet this detection is a complex task and a large amount of work was dedicated to it in the past decade. One important feature is that communities can be found at several scales, or levels of resolution, indicating several levels of organisation. Therefore a graph may have several community structures. Also networks tend to be large and hence require efficient processing. In this work, we present a new algorithm with linear complexity for the fast detection of communities across scales using a local criterion. We exploit the local aspect of the criterion to enable parallel computation and improve the execution speed further. The algorithm is tested against very large generated multi-scale networks and experiments demonstrate its efficiency and accuracy.  相似文献

Two different viscoelastic frameworks adapted to large strain rate-dependent response of elastomers are compared; for each approach, a simple model is derived. Within the Finite Linear Viscoelasticity theory, a time convolution integral model based on an extension to solid of the K-BKZ model is proposed. Considering the multiplicative split of the deformation gradient into elastic and inelastic parts, an internal variable model based on a large strain version of the Standard Linear Solid model is considered. In both cases, the strain energy functions involved are chosen neo-Hookean, and then each model possesses three material parameters: two stiffnesses and a viscosity parameter. These parameters are set to ensure the equivalence of the model responses for uniaxial large strain quasi-static and infinitely fast loading conditions, and for uniaxial rate-dependent small strain loading conditions. Considering their responses for different Eulerian strain rates, their differences are investigated with respect to the strain rate; more specifically, both stiffness and dissipative properties are studied. The comparison reveals that these two models differ significantly for intermediate strain rates, and a closing discussion highlights some issues about their foundations and numerical considerations.  相似文献

We propose a technique for determining the pair-correlation function of a quasi-homogeneous medium. The method uses the variation of the spatial-coherence properties of the incident beam to generate two separate volumes of coherence where the field is correlated. Using this specially prepared beam, we reconstruct experimentally the correlation function of a scattering potential by recording the scattered intensity in only one direction.  相似文献

When propagating through particulate media, optical beams are degraded owing to scattering. We found that the ratio between the width of the distorted beam and the width of the initial beam decreases when the spatial coherence of the incident beam is reduced. These experimental observations are well described within the paraxial approximation of the transport theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe the preparation of Nd3+ doped glass-ceramics in the (GeS2)70-(Ga2S3)20-(CsCl)10 system. Neodymium has been introduced as metallic powder or incorporated as sulphide. Appropriate heat treatments of the base-glass lead to glass-ceramics with controllable crystal sizes that are transparent in the visible and infrared spectral ranges. X-ray diffraction as well as electron diffraction techniques were used to investigate the crystallization process. Differential scanning calorimetry indicates that neodymium ions are poor nucleating agents in this glass compared to erbium ions. Luminescence measurements were also performed and point out that although the ceramization process increases significantly the luminescence efficiency, the neodymium ions are only partially incorporated in the nanocrystals.  相似文献

Spatial Division Multiple Access (SDMA) is a principle of radio resource sharing that relies on the division of the space dimension into separated communication channels. SDMA basically relies on adaptive and dynamic beam-forming associated to a clever algorithm in charge of resource allocation. As satellite communication systems move towards an increasing number of users and a larger throughput for each of them, SDMA is one of the most promising techniques that can reach these two goals. This paper studies static Frequency Assignment Problems (FAP) in a satellite communication system involving a gateway connected to a terrestrial network and some user terminals located in a service area. Two scenarios are considered: one based on SDMA and the other based on usual spot coverage. We propose original integer linear programming formulations and greedy allocation algorithms for the FAP which involves unusual cumulative interference constraints. By considering the link budget of each user, the objective is to maximize the number of users that the system can serve. We show through computational experiments on realistic data that the FAP associated with the SDMA system can be solved efficiently, yielding substantial improvement compared to the traditional system.  相似文献
