Testing images independently of translations and linear deformations

This article considers the theory of construction of criteria that are independent of the motions of images, as as well rotations and linear deformations. A method is presented for construction of new types of criteria that have the following distinctive features: they make it easy to construct functionals for measurement of the characteristics of motion of standard images; the theory can easily be extended to the case of grey-scale and colored images; the criteria that are obtained are amenable to parallel computation; the proposed theory makes it easy to construct new criteria. Effect of irradiation with low-energy Ar ions on the characteristics of the working and rear sides of single-crystal GaAs substrate

Contactless methods were used to study the characteristics of the front and rear sides of single-crystal GaAs wafers whose rear side was irradiated with low-energy Ar ions. Variations in the optical and photoelectric properties of irradiated and unirradiated sides were detected. A solitonic mechanism for the penetration of defects into the crystal bulk is suggested.

Guidance in the main deceleration section during a lunar landing of a spacecraft with an integrated propulsion system

An algorithm is developed for terminal guidance during the main deceleration section of the lunar landing trajectory of a spacecraft with an integrated propulsion system, which has a main engine with variable thrust and four auxiliary nonthrottleable engines. A method of guidance adaptation to the actual motion conditions by measuring the thrust acceleration with jumps in time is proposed.     

Finite-element model of temperature conditions in self-propagating high-temperature synthesis of cylindrical blanks

Two-dimensional, nonstationary heat-conduction problems in a system of four finite bodies with an internal mobile heat source of the first kind (burning front) have been solved by the finite-element method. The influence of basic technological factors on the temperature-field parameters in the process of synthesis of TiB-40% Ti alloys has been investigated. Model of Plastic Deformation of Powder Materials Taking Account of the Proportion of Contact Volume

A structural model is suggested that takes account of the contact nature of plastic deformation of a powder body. It is shown that in averaging local stresses and strain rates the volume of averaging can be presented as a combination of straight cylinders constructed at all contact areas of a particle and having a common nucleus formed by the intersection of cylindrical bodies. On the whole a plastically deformed powder body is an orientated contact-rod system composed of cylinders that are in contact by their bases and that experience uniform tension-compression deformation. The volume fraction of powder body contact volume determined using Bal'shin's and Zhdanovich's equations can be a quantitative measure of the volume fraction of plastically deformed material. The contact-rod model satisfies boundary conditions for the poured state of powder and it is good agreement with experimental data for isostatically compacted metal powders.
