Conservation of food products depends on product quality and packaging suitability. The objective of this work was to develop and evaluate the antimicrobial efficiency of natamycin‐incorporated film in the production process of Gorgonzola cheese. It aims to optimize the production process and increase shelf‐life and food safety for the consumer. Films with different concentrations of natamycin were produced and tested in Gorgonzola cheeses to evaluate its efficiency against Penicillium roqueforti on the cheese surface. Films with 2 and 4% natamycin presented satisfactory results for fungus inhibition and the amount of natamycin released to the cheese was below that allowed by the legislation. A mycological survey was carried out on 115 samples of whole dried black pepper seeds, from two main production regions of Brazil (Pará and Espírito Santo). A high incidence of contamination was verified in both regions when 99.1% of the samples showed filamentous fungi contamination. A total of 497 species of nine different genera were isolated (Aspergillus, Eurotium, Rhizopus, Penicillium, Curvularia, Cladosporium, Absidia, Emericella and Paecilomyces). The genus Aspergillus was the predominant (53.5%) followed by species from the Eurotium genus (24.5%). Eurotium chevalieri (16.4%) was the most predominant species followed by A. flavus (14.6%) present on 55 samples of black pepper (47.8%) analysed. Twenty-five samples (21.7%) were contaminated with aflatoxigenic strains of A. flavus and A. parasiticus. In relation to the types of aflatoxins produced by mycotoxigenic strains, it was observed that 25 strains (44.6%) of 56 isolated of A. flavus produced aflatoxins. From 12 samples, A. ochraceus species were isolated in low frequency (3.5%). Two strains of A. ochraceus from 16 isolated were producers of ochratoxin A. With respect to the aflatoxins and ochratoxin A natural contamination, none of the samples presented detectable levels of these mycotoxins using thin-layer chromatographic analysis.  相似文献

The physical aging of the epoxy network consisting of a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, m‐xylylenediamine, and polyetherimide was studied by differential scanning calorimetry. The glass transition temperature and the variation of the specific heat capacities have been calculated using the method, based on the intersection of both enthalpy–temperature lines for glassy and liquid states. The apparent activation energy (EH) was calculated using a single method that involved separate temperature and excess enthalpy dependency. A Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic procedure was used to analyze 34 edible fats (22 shortenings and 12 vegetable margarines) as neat fats (IRNF) to determine their total trans fatty acid (TFA) content. The sloping baseline was corrected with a reference spectrum based on a nonprocessed olive oil. The calibration was done using seven partially hydrogenated fats with an individual TFA content previously determined by the combination of gas chromatography (GC) with argentation thin-layer chromatography. Taking into account the different absorptivities of various trans isomers, different correction factors were calculated using the calibration standards (0.83 and 1.71 for single trans bonds in both diethylene and triethylene and for trans, trans-diethylene fatty acids, respectively) and applied to calculate the total TFA of samples. Moreover, the samples were converted to their methyl esters and reanalyzed following the same procedure (IRFAME). Differences in TFA content of fats were not found when a t-test was used to compare the results obtained by IRNF vs. either IRFAME or GC, suggesting that IR of neat fats could be used, thus avoiding the need to prepare sample solutions in organic solvents and to prepare fatty acid methyl esters. The mean TFA content (determined by IRNF) of a representative group of Spanish shortenings (22 samples) that varied widely in terms of fat sources, processes, and purposes (bakery, sandwiches, ice cream, coatings, chocolate coverings) was 6.55±11.40%, although more than 54% contained <3% of TFA. Fatty acid composition of shortenings by direct GC using a 100-m polar cyanopolysiloxane capillary column indicated that the mean trans-18∶2 isomer content was 0.58%, ranging from 0.9 to 3.4%. Small amounts of trans-18∶3 isomers (<0.3%) were observed in 18 of the 22 shortenings studied; the maximal value was <2%. The mean value of the fraction saturated+TFA of shortenings was high (59.95±12.73%), including two values higher than 83%.  相似文献

The advances in the field of nutritional support have made certain nutrients very relevant, which, although they have been known for a long time, at present represent an important chapter in nutrition, entering into what is known as "nutritional pharmacology". Among these nutrients is glutamine, an amino acid classified as non-essential, but which in certain circumstances may become to be considered as an "essential nutrient". In the present review, a review is made of its metabolic role, synthesis and degradation, metabolic routes and functions under normal conditions as well as under critical conditions. It is known that glutamine stimulates the synthesis and inhibits the degradation of proteins, it is an important vehicle for the transport of nitrogen and carbon within the tissues, it stimulates the synthesis of hepatic glycogen, it is an energy source for cell division, for the growth of different cells of rapid replication, such as enterocytes, colonocytes, and fibroblasts, as well as for other cells of the immune system, such as lymphocytes and macrophages. Thus its role in the maintenance of structure, in metabolism and function of the intestinal mucosa, and in dysfunctions of the immune system. In parenteral nutrition, at present there are no preparations which include it, given the stability problems which it presents, although attempts have been made to resolve this, using different possibilities, such as di-peptides. However, in enteral nutrition, the diets tend to include it, although in a small proportion. Nevertheless, having recognized its beneficial role in a certain type of patients, at present there are diets which contain glutamine in higher doses, with the object of attempting to cover the increased demands of glutamine which shall arise in these situations. The inclusion of glutamine in nutritional therapy is supported by multiple studies which reflect the beneficial effect of this nutrient, both in enteral nutrition as in parenteral nutrition.  相似文献

This paper presents a non-intrusive estimator for Internet TV services based on streaming technology. Analyzing the video packets received by the client application, the estimator is capable of selecting the most suitable encoding bitrate for the available bandwidth in the end-to-end path. The estimator has been integrated in a real client/server architecture and evaluated with different network traffic situations. The results of the performed evaluation have revealed the stability and adaptation speed as the best qualities of our proposal.  相似文献

We present a cryogenic source of periodic streams of micrometer-sized hydrogen and argon droplets as ideal mass-limited target systems for fundamental intense laser-driven plasma applications. The highly compact design combined with a high temporal and spatial droplet stability makes our injector ideally suited for experiments using state-of-the-art high-power lasers in which a precise synchronization between the laser pulses and the droplets is mandatory. We show this by irradiating argon droplets with multi-terawatt pulses.  相似文献

The use of thin films as sensing elements for microsensor applications has been shown very attractive due to their low-cost fabrication, potential for integration with standard CMOS technologies and possibility of deposition on different substrate types. In particular, piezoresistive sensors based on thin films have been commonly developed because can be easily implemented using microfabrication processes and present the best relation between sensitivity and system complexity, which showing great advantages in term of device integration. In our previous works (Fraga et al. 2010, 2011a), we studied undoped and nitrogen-doped PECVD a-SiC thin films as alternative materials to replace the silicon piezoresistors in strain and pressure sensors for harsh environments. Here, we focused our attention on the piezoresistive properties of sputtered silicon carbide (SiC), diamond-like carbon (DLC) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films. These materials were evaluated in terms of sensitivity or gauge factor and of the influence of the temperature on this sensitivity, allowing a preliminary analysis of the applicability of these thin films in high temperature piezoresistive sensors.  相似文献

Context

Software Reuse has always been an important area amongst software companies in order to increase their productivity and the quality of their products, but code reuse is not the only answer for this. Nowadays, reuse techniques proposals include software designs or even software specifications. Therefore, this research focuses on software design, specifically on UML Class Diagrams. A semantic technology has been applied to facilitate the retrieval process for an effective reuse.

Objective

This research proposes an ontology-based retrieval technique by semantic similarity in order to support effective retrieval process for UML Class Diagrams. Since UML Class Diagrams are a de facto standard in the design stages of a Software Development Process, a good technique is needed to reuse them, i.e. reusing during the design stage instead of just the coding stages.

Method

An application ontology modeled using UML specifications was designed to compare UML Class Diagram element types. To measure their similarity, a survey was conducted amongst UML experts. Query expansion was improved by a domain ontology supporting the retrieval phase. The calculus of minimal distances in ontologies was solved using a shortest path algorithm.

Results

The case study shows the domain ontology importance in the UML Class Diagram retrieval process as well as the importance of an element type expansion method, such as an application ontology. A correlation between the query complexity and retrieved elements has been identified, by analyzing results. Finally, a positive Return of Investment (ROI) was estimated using Poulin’s Model.

Conclusion

Because Software Reuse has not to be limited to the coding stage, approaches to reuse design stage must be developed, i.e. UML Class Diagrams reuse. This approach proposes a technique for UML Class Diagrams retrieval, which is one important step towards reuse. Semantic technology combined with information retrieval improves the retrieval results.  相似文献
