A dynamic model for computer simulation and control of steelmaking has been developed. It is essentially based on multicomponent mixed transport control theory with the incorporation of energy balance calculations. The model is applicable to both steelmaking in electric furnaces as well as in oxygen steelmaking converters. The adjustable parameters of the model for simulation of oxygen steelmaking are gas evolution rate (Gco). oxygen flux factor (Fo) and emulsification factor (EM). These simulation parameters, when combined with on-line measurement of off-gas composition and temperature, enable complete dynamic control of the process. The model developed is applied, as an example, to an industrially produced heat in a top blown oxygen steelmaking converter and the results of simulation are discussed.  相似文献

This paper describes a new iterative method to locate a fault on a single multiterminal transmission line. The method uses synchronized voltage and current measurements from all terminals. Using positive-sequence components of the prefault and postfault waveforms, positive-sequence source impedances are estimated. Using these source impedances and the line data, the positive-sequence bus impedance matrix (Z/sub bus/) is formed. Using the properties of Z/sub bus/, an iterative algorithm is proposed. The algorithm first identifies the faulted section and then locates the fault on this section. This algorithm is applied to the data obtained from the Electromagnetic Transients Program simulation of a multiterminal transmission line. The simulation results show that the distinctive features of this method are that it performs with very high accuracy for all types of faults at different fault locations and is practically immune to fault resistance.  相似文献

Bright red luminescent Eu3+ doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films were made by solution casting technique. The emission performance of these films was studied from the measurement of excitation, emission, and lifetimes. On irradiation with an UV source, the doped films emitted bright red light. Such luminescent polymer films are expected to find potential applications as new optical materials. Pregnant rats were fed a high carbohydrate diet containing either 1% trilinolein or 1% trilinolein with 0.2% methyl sterculate from 18 day gestation to 21 day postpartum. The pups were weaned at 21 days and continued on the same diet for an additional 10 days. The microsomal stearyl CoA desaturase activities of the liver were effectively inhibited. Liver triglycerides showed increases in the saturated fatty acids concentrations at the expense of the corresponding monoenes. The concentration ofcis 6–7 octadecenoic acid was elevated. In liver phospholipids, the concentration of stearic acid was increased without a corresponding decrease in the oleic acid content. A drastic decrease in the nervonic acid (24∶1, n−9) concentration of liver sphingomyelin was observed. The lipids of the brain did not contain sterculic acid, and brain desaturase activity was unaffected. There was no significant change in the concentration of monoenoic acids from 16∶1 to 22∶1. However, nervonic acid was decreased by 32%. These results suggest that brain nervonic acid may be derived from a precursor other than oleic acid.  相似文献

A series of novel copolymer superabsorbents based on monomer acrylamide (AM), potassium methacrylate (KMA), and 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) were prepared by copolymerization using ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator and N,N‐methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinking agent. The synthetic variables (the monomer concentration, crosslinker concentration, and initiator concentration) were also studied. The experimental results of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) show a better absorbency in both water and NaCl solutions. The copolymers were characterized by IR spectroscopy. The water retention in the soil was enhanced using the above superabsorbents. The use of SAPs for the growth of groundnut plants was also investigated. SAPs can be considered for water‐managing materials for agriculture and horticulture purposes in desert and drought‐prone areas. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of polyimides were synthesized from new diamine, Bis [4,4′‐amino‐5,5′ trifluoromethyl phenoxy‐(hexafluoro isopropylidine) phenoxy phenyl] benzonitrile [BATFB] and various aromatic tetracarboxylic anhydrides by thermal and chemical imidization routes. The BATFB was synthesized in two steps by nucleophilic displacement reaction of 2,6‐dichloro benzonitrile, 4,4′‐(hexafluoro isopropylidine) diphenol and 2‐amino‐5‐fluoro benzotrifluoride in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate in N,N′‐dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and the structure was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy and CHNSO analyzer. The polymers were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and thermal analysis were performed by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis methods. The prepared polyimides had glass transition temperatures between 230 and 290°C and their 10% weight loss were recorded in the range 550–590°C in N2 atmosphere. Majority of polymers are found to be soluble in most of the organic solvents such as DMSO, DMF, DMAc, m‐cresol, and THF even at room temperature and few becomes soluble on heating.
