Kinetics of saturation of liquid metal flow with gases

An analysis of the kinetics of gas dissolution in a liquid metal flow is performed. It is shown that due to a high pouring rate and specific surface of the flow, the flow in the arc of molten filler metal, as distinct from the flow of liquid metal during its pouring, leads to intense saturation of the melt with gas.Volgograd Branch of the Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute. Development of an acoustic leak monitoring system

The purpose, structure, and basic characteristics of an acoustic system for monitoring coolant leaks in the first loop of a VVER reactor are presented. The principle of operation of the diagnostics algorithm is described. The system has been checked on a special stand. The system satisfies all sensitivity and temporal requirements. Measurement of the heterogeneous recombination probability of oxygen atoms in the course of supersonic dissociated gas flow interaction with solid body surfaces

A technique for determining time-resolved heterogeneous recombination probabilities

_W is developed which is based on comparison of the measured and calculated heat fluxes to a flat wedge-like plate set at a small expansion angle to a supersonic dissociated gas flow behind a shock wave with the typical parameters: pressure of 100 mm Hg, temperature of 3000 – 4000 K, and velocity of 2.5 – 3.0 km s^?1.

Peculiarities of film growth in glow discharge with runaway electrons

We have studied the properties of films deposited in gas discharge with a beam of runaway electrons and observed for the first time an anomalous behavior of the intensity of a probing light beam reflected from a film on substrate upon switching off of the discharge. The observed phenomenon is interpreted in the framework of a two-layer model of the film growth on a substrate, according to which an optically homogeneous surface layer of unknown nature appears on the film during growth in discharge and fully decomposes when the discharge is switched off.     

Investigation of friction mode effect on the heat state of hybrid metal-polymer powder coatings using a computer simulation technique

Computer models of the friction zones of hybrid metal-polymer coatings are developed with account of their composition and structure of the powder system. Regularities of the heat-field formation and contact pressure in the powder metal-polymer coatings are determined during rubbing under varying operation conditions.
