Two-dimensional MoS2 nanoparticles (2D-nps) exhibit artificial enzyme properties that can be regulated at bio-nanointerfaces. We discovered that protein lipase is able to tune the peroxidase-like activity of MoS2 2D-nps, offering low-nanomolar, label-free detection and identification in samples with unknown identity. The inhibition of the peroxidase-like activity of the MoS2 2D-nps was demonstrated to be concentration dependent, and as low as 5 nm lipase was detected with this approach. The results were compared with those obtained with several other proteins that did not display any significant interference with the nanozyme behavior of the MoS2 2D-nps. This unique response of lipase was characterized and exploited for the successful identification of lipase in six unknown samples by using qualitative visual inspection and a quantitative statistical analysis method. The developed methodology in this approach is noteworthy for many aspects; MoS2 2D-nps are neither labeled with a signaling moiety nor modified with any ligands for signal readout. Only the intrinsic nanozyme activity of the MoS2 2D-nps is exploited for this detection approach. No analytical equipment is necessary for the visual detection of lipase. The synthesis of the water-soluble MoS2 2D-nps is low costing and can be performed in bulk scale. Exploring the properties of 2D-nps and their interactions with biological materials reveals highly interesting yet instrumental features that offer the development of novel bioanalytical approaches.  相似文献

The impact of the salt addition practice on the microstructure and grain refining efficiency of Al–Ti–B alloys produced by the “halide salt” route was investigated. The grain refining performance of an experimental Al–5Ti–1B master alloy was optimized when the halide salts were pre-mixed before addition to aluminium melt at 800 °C during the production of the grain refiner. The stirring action provided during salt addition was found to degrade, while a high rate of addition was found to improve, the grain refining efficiency. In view of the above, an improved salt addition practice to ensure an exceptional grain refining performance is claimed to comprise the following steps: melting commercial purity aluminium ingot; addition of pre-mixed salts to molten aluminium at 800 °C, at once to facilitate a rapid salt reaction, gently mixing the salts with the aluminium melt without introducing any stirring. The grain refiner master alloy thus produced gives an average grain size of 102 μm 2 min after inoculation.  相似文献

The well-established “halide salt” route was employed in the present work to produce Al–Ti–B grain refiner alloys with consistent, good properties. The holding step in the production cycle was revised, however, to avoid oxidation of the molten alloy which is believed to be responsible for the relatively low Ti recoveries and thus for the inadequate and inconsistent grain refining efficiency. Stirring during holding was found to degrade the grain refining properties when molten potassium aluminium fluride salt was left on the molten alloy to avoid excessive oxidation. Likewise, holding temperatures higher than 800 °C and holding times longer than 30 min both had an undesirable effect on the grain refining performance. The experimental Al–5Ti–1B grain refiner alloy produced according to the present method provided consistent and better overall grain refining performance.  相似文献

Constructed wetland sediments are frequently contaminated with nitrogen and phosphorus. There is a risk that accumulated pollutants can either be remobilised or reach the groundwater. Five identical mesocosms, which were filled with subsoil collected from full‐scale integrated constructed wetland (the first cell receives the most contaminated influent), were set up to examine nutrient removal within sediment layers. The results indicated that accumulated nutrients leached out into inflow water and that the sediment capacity of nutrient retention decreased as the wetlands aged. Furthermore, the mesocosm planted with Phragmites australis achieved better treatment results compared with the one planted with Agrostis stolonifera. The risk of contamination to groundwater does not exist because none of the treated water reached the bottom outlet during the study period. Both the bentonite (clay) and biogeochemical processes taking place within sediments proved to be efficient in preventing polluted water from infiltrating into lower lying soils.  相似文献

Finding a synthetic pathway to artificial analogs of nacre and bones represents a fundamental milestone in the development of composite materials. The ordered brick-and-mortar arrangement of organic and inorganic layers is believed to be the most essential strength- and toughness-determining structural feature of nacre. It has also been found that the ionic crosslinking of tightly folded macromolecules is equally important. Here, we demonstrate that both structural features can be reproduced by sequential deposition of polyelectrolytes and clays. This simple process results in a nanoscale version of nacre with alternating organic and inorganic layers. The macromolecular folding effect reveals itself in the unique saw-tooth pattern of differential stretching curves attributed to the gradual breakage of ionic crosslinks in polyelectrolyte chains. The tensile strength of the prepared multilayers approached that of nacre, whereas their ultimate Young modulus was similar to that of lamellar bones. Structural and functional resemblance makes clay- polyelectrolyte multilayers a close replica of natural biocomposites. Their nanoscale nature enables elucidation of molecular processes occurring under stress.  相似文献

Sn-Fe/carbon nanocomposites were synthesized by the mechanochemical treatment of Sn with various amounts of an Fe/C composite through the pyrolysis of Fe(III) acetylacetonate. The composites were then evaluated as alternative anode materials for rechargeable lithium batteries. Based on the obtained ex situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) results, and differential capacity plots (DCPs), a reaction mechanism was suggested. It was found that increasing the amounts of the SnFe phase and pyrolyzed carbon in the composite improved its electrochemical characteristics in terms of its capacity retention.  相似文献

Ease of fabrication and design flexibility are two attractive features of low-temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) technology for fabrication of complex micro-fluidic devices. Such structures are designed and processed using different shaping methods, the extent and complexity of which depends on the final device specifications (dimensions, and mechanical and functional properties). In this work, we propose a sacrificial layer method based on carbon-black paste, which burns out during the LTCC firing stage. The article will summarize the preparation of the paste, influence of processing conditions on the final dimensions, and demonstrate the mechanically integrated structures obtained using this technique. Some of these are membranes of various diameters (7–12 mm) with a thickness of 40 μm and a variety of internal spacing (15–60 μm), free-hanging thick-film resistor bridges on LTCC for heating micro-volumes. The main methods of the study will be thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and dilatometry in addition to electronic instruments for device characterization.  相似文献

The damage accumulation hypothesis is used to derive a fatigue crack growth rate equation. The fatigue life of a volume element inside the plastic zone is evaluated by using low-cycle fatigue concepts. Crack growth rate is expressed as a function of cyclic material parameters and plastic zone characteristics. For a given material, crack growth increment, is predicted to be a fraction of the plastic zone size which can be expressed in terms of fracture mechanics parameters,K andJ. Hence, the proposed growth rate equation has a predictive capacity and is not limited to linear elastic conditions.  相似文献

The new generation twin-roll casters are able to cast strips down to 1 mm and offer a notable increase in the casting speed and caster productivity. The thin strips, however, experience profoundly different temperature and deformation gradients in the caster roll gap and may thus require different down stream processing cycles. An attempt was made in the present work to identify the structural features of the thin-cast AlFeSi strip and its response to high temperature annealing treatments. The deformation introduced to the thin AlFeSi strip in the caster roll gap was largely restored by dynamic processes before coiling, producing recrystallized surface layers. When annealed as-cast, the grain structure was rearranged by an ordinary growth process at the surface and via recrystallization in the interior. The entire process was retarded due to the precipitation reactions, particularly in the immediate vicinity of the surface where the supersaturation of the aluminium matrix was the highest and the boundary mobility was severely impaired. The final strip structure was a coarse one. The entire section of the thin strip underwent recrystallization when the thin strip was annealed after a rolling pass. While some improvement appeared to be possible in this practice, a heterogeneous through thickness structure with relatively coarser surface grains prevailed.  相似文献
