Gas absorption accompanied by an instantaneous irreversible chemical reaction into laminar falling films of power-law liquids was studied theoretically. The convective-diffusion equations for a solute gas and a liquid-phase reactant were solved numerically and the numerical solution for the reaction factor was obtained as a function of the Graetz number, the concentration ratio, the diffusivity ratio and the power-law index of the liquid.  相似文献

Tributyltin (TBT) released into seawater from ship hulls is a stable marine pollutant and obviously remains in marine environments. We isolated a TBT resistant marine Pseudoalteromonas sp. TBT1 from sediment of a ship’s ballast water. The isolate (109.3 ± 0.2 colony-forming units mL−1) adsorbed TBT in proportion to the concentrations of TBTCl externally added up to 3 mM, where the number of TBT adsorbed by a single cell was estimated to be 108.2. The value was reduced to about one-fifth when the lysozyme-treated cells were used. The surface of ethanol treated cells became rough, but the capacity of TBT adsorption was the same as that for native cells. These results indicate that the function of the cell surface, rather than that structure, plays an important role to the adsorption of TBT. The adsorption state of TBT seems to be multi-layer when the number of more than 106.8 TBT molecules is adsorbed by a single cell.  相似文献

In measurements of rocket-triggered lightning current and voltage performed between 1986 and 1995 on the mountain top of Okushishiku in the Kanazawa area, the authors succeeded in artificially inducing winter lightning to arresters. Using the data obtained from those measurements, we analyzed the energy absorption characteristics of surge arresters, such as are installed on every transmission line tower for three phrases, by EMTP. The energy withstand capability of an individual arrester was verified to be approximately the same as the expected value. The analysis results for the energy share of each arrester connected in parallel showed that the usual light duty arresters installed on every tower have the possibility to be able to absorb extreme winter lightning energy even if the lightning hits the power line directly. © 1998 Scripta Technica. A quantitative approach for correction of background counts is described for determination of the left ventricular ejection fraction from first-pass radionuclide angiocardiography. First, the method is investigated theoretically and numerically using a mathematical model. It is demonstrated that the ejection fraction can be estimated relatively well, even in a noisy situation. Second, the method is applied to the left ventricular time-activity curves from two different regions of interest, the carefully selected and the laxly selected, and these are compared to each other. Good agreement (correlation coefficient = 0.96) for 20 patients was obtained between the ejection fractions from the carefully selected region of interest and those from the laxly selected one.  相似文献

Using the values of the rotational molecular parameters (including cencrifugal distortion terms) of the H2 16O molecule, which can explain 12 observed transitions below 800 GHz, all rotational energy levels with normalized Boltzmann factors larger than 5×10?8 at 300°K are calculated. Probabilities of all possible electric dipole transitions among these states, 2277 lines, are calculated using the eigenfunctions thus obtained, and the permanent electric dipole moment of 1.8546 Debye. Assuming the single and full Lorentzian line forms, we calculated the absorption coefficient for millimeter to submillimeter region. Our result, using the single term Lorentzian line form, agrees quite well with experiment for 1 Torr of water vapor in 760 Torr air at 300°K.  相似文献

Positronium is an ideal system for research on Quantum Electrodynamics (QED), especially in a bound state. A discrepancy of 3.9 standard deviations has been found between the measured hyperfine structure (Ps-HFS) and the QED predictions. This may be due to the contribution of unknown new physics or common systematic effects in previous measurements, in all of which the Zeeman effect was used. We propose a new method to directly measure the Ps-HFS using a high power gyrotron. We compare two resonators which have been developed to supply sufficient power to drive the direct transition, a Fabry-Pérot resonator and a ring resonator with a diffraction grating. We plan to perform first direct measurement of Ps-HFS within the next six months.  相似文献

In this paper, the switching performance of Silicon on Depletion Layer CMOS (SODEL CMOS) is investigated with a view to realizing high-speed and low-power CMOS applications. Thanks to smaller parasitic capacitance, the propagation delay time (/spl tau//sub pd/) in SODEL CMOS has been improved by up to 25% compared to that of conventional bulk CMOS in five stacked nFET inverters at the same V/sub dd/. It is also confirmed that about 30% better power-delay product can be realized at the same /spl tau//sub pd/ with reduced V/sub dd/ in SODEL CMOS. In SRAM cell applications, SODEL CMOS shows high Static Noise Margin (SNM) of /spl sim/95 mV at V/sub dd/=0.6 V. Smaller bitline delay is expected and confirmed in SODEL CMOS SRAM by SPICE simulations. Latch-up immunity for /spl alpha/-particle irradiation in SODEL CMOS was also found to be comparable to that of conventional bulk CMOS. Therefore, SODEL CMOS device and circuit technology is expected to provide a better solution for low-power system-on-a-chip (SoC).  相似文献

The rates of desorption of carbon dioxide from supersaturated water solutions into pure carbon dioxide or nitrogen gas stream were measured at 15,25, and 35°C in a baffled agitated vessel with a flat gas-liquid interface operated in a continuous manner. The volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficients for the bubbles generated in the agitated liquid and the enhancement factors of the volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient for the free liquid surface due to the bubbling were calculated from the measured desorption rates and correlated as functions of the relative supersaturation of the solution and the liquid-phase Reynolds number.  相似文献

When a benzene/cyclohexane mixture was permeated through poly(dimethyl acrylamide-random-methyl methacrylate) (DMAA-r-MMA) and poly(dimethyl acrylamide)-graft-poly(methyl methacrylate) (DMAA-g-MMA) membranes by pervaporation, the benzene-permselectivity of the DMAA-r-MMA membrane changed from the diffusivity selectivity to the solubility selectivity with increasing DMAA content but DMAA-g-MMA membranes with a high DMAA content had the higher apparent diffusivity selectivity than the apparent solubility selectivity. Furthermore, the apparent solubility selectivity for a benzene/cyclohexane mixture between the DMAA-r-MMA membrane and the DMAA-g-MMA membrane with a high DMAA content was remarkably different. The pressure dependence of the Raman spectra of HfO2 was measured by a micro-Raman technique using a singlecrystal specimen in the pressure range from 0 to 10 GPa at room temperature. The symmetry assignment of Raman bands of the monoclinic phase was experimentally accomplished from the polarization measurements for the single crystal. With increased pressure, a phase transformation for the monoclinic phase took place at 4.3 ± 0.3 GPa. Nineteen Raman bands were observed for the high-pressure phase. The spectral structure of the Raman bands for the high-pressure phase was similar with those reported previously for ZrO2. The space group for the high-pressure phase of HfO2 was determined as Pbcm , which was the same as that of the high-pressure phase for ZrO2 on the basis of the number and the spectral structure of the Raman bands.  相似文献
