We have isolated a mutant which exhibits partial constitutivity for a -specific gene expression in α cells. The wild-type gene was cloned and demonstrated to be allelic to the STE13 gene, which encodes the dipeptidyl aminopeptidase involved in processing of the α-factor prepropheromone. Thus, the mating defect of the ste13 mutations in α cells may result both from the production of incompletely processed α-factor and from the increased expression of a -specific genes. The STE13 open reading frame of 931 amino acids contains a putative membrane-spanning segment near its amino terminus and is 31% identical to a second yeast dipeptidyl aminopeptidase (DAP2). A null mutant of STE13 has been constructed: it is viable and sporulation-proficient. The sequence has been deposited in the GenBank data library under Accession Number L21944.  相似文献

The Cs-salt of heteropolyacid with stoichiometry Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 (CsHPW) was deposited selectively at the external surface of the SBA-15 silica microcrystals, inside its mesoporous channels and simultaneously at both location modes. The structure, texture and performance of these CsHPW/SBA-15 composites were compared with that of a reference bulk salt of the same composition. Location of CsHPW salt on the external surface of SBA-15 microcrystals leads to disintegration of its agglomerates increasing acidity of the catalytic phase. A novel preparation strategy consisting of grafting the basic Cs-species at the internal pores surface of SBA-15 stabilized the CsHPW phase inside the channels in form of 5–8 nm nanocrystals at 30–70 wt.% loadings. The catalytic tests demonstrated that insertion of the CsHPW catalytic phase inside the nanotubular channels of SBA-15 in combination with location of an additional amount of this phase at the external surface of SBA-15 microcrystals allows to increase the specific activity of this phase in MTBE synthesis, propionylation of anisole and alkylation of catechol with t-butanol by a factor of 1.5–3. This level of specific activity in combination with high total loading of catalytic phase >60 wt.% permit to get composite catalytic materials with catalytic activity higher by a factor of 1.2–1.5 with respect to the bulk CsHPW catalyst and stabilizing the catalytic phase against colloidization in polar media.  相似文献

Analyzed how families with a diabetic child interact and how these patterns differ from other families, using 57 diabetic and 48 acutely ill early adolescents and preadolescents from 2-parent families. The 2 samples were contrasted in terms of enabling and constraining interactions of each family member. Findings reveal that diabetic Ss and their parents expressed significantly more enabling (e.g., focusing, problem-solving, active understanding) speeches than comparable members of the acute illness group. There were indications of particular constraining interactions (devaluing) occurring between fathers and diabetic Ss. Several alternative interpretations are offered to account for these results. An analytical procedure is presented to evaluate the capacity required for channels used to transmit data from multiple-buffered concentrators used in data communications networks. Three message assembly procedures are compared. The parameters considered in the analysis are queuing discipline, buffer size, and computational complexity. The influence of these factors on channel capacity is examined. It is shown that the required channel capacity C for a first-come, first-served message assembly procedure satisfies C?2 C1, where C1 is the lowest possible channel capacity, achieved when the incoming messages are completely packed. Chemical processes where a gas is absorbed into a liquid and reacts to give a product that desorbs back into the gas are quite common in the industry. In this study, the reaction between the absorbed gaseous reactant and a nonvolatile reactant is considered to be slow, fast or instantaneous, while the volatile product may react further in a slow reaction. Effects of various operating parameters such as the liquid and gas flow rates, the gas-liquid interfacial area and the coefficients for mass transfer are examined. Situations can arise where the absorbing gas reacts but the product diffuses completely to the bulk of the liquid, and the rate of desorption is null. Dynamic simulation of the smart catalytic converter, proposed by Daimler AG, is presented. The smart catalytic converter combines NOx storage, on-board ammonia production and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and functions in a dual-mode operation, alternating between lean burn and rich burn. It relies on intrinsic dynamic operation and synchronization of all units and its development demands a reliable dynamic simulator. A platform capable of simulating the dynamic behavior of multiple-unit aftertreatment system was developed based on COMSOL package. Predictive kinetic models were developed for NOx storage unit that includes ammonia formation function and for NH3-SCR unit. Using these kinetic models, two-unit smart catalytic converter was simulated on the developed simulator. The results of the simulator were validated using two-unit experimental data. The simulator was also employed to control and optimize the performance of smart catalytic converter. It was shown that the simulator is vital for optimization of lean and rich periods in order to ensure stable lean–rich cycles.  相似文献
