Ta100-x B x alloy films were prepared by r.f.-sputtering in the chemical composition range 45 x 77. Ta100-x B x (45 x 58) films consist of the amorphous phase, while the TaB2 crystal phase was observed in Ta100-x B x (66 x 77) films. A remarkable preferred orientation with the (001) plane of TaB2 parallel to the film surface was observed in Ta34B66. The d.c. electrical conductivity of Ta100-x B x (45 x 77) films decreases with increasing boron content in the range 6.7 × 103 to 1.3 × 103–1 cm–1. The micro-Vickers hardness of Ta100-x B x (45 x 77) films was in the range 2200 to 2600 kg mm–2.  相似文献

Surface structures of iron–phosphate glasses were examined using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Cr2O3, CoO, and Al2O3 were introduced to the glass by the replacement of a part of Fe2O3, and the simulated fission products are also added. The obtained glasses showed high chemical durabilities by MCC‐1 test. In situ high‐temperature and room‐temperature XPS measurements were conducted on the polished sample surfaces and also those after 1‐week chemical durability test. Unique trends were observed in XPS spectra on heating and after the chemical durability test, respectively. Nature of the glass surface of iron–phosphate glasses was explained from the point of view of surface energy, and the origin of high chemical durability and the effect of chromium ions were discussed based on the changes on surface composition and valence states of transition‐metal ions.  相似文献

1. Nicotinylalanine, an inhibitor of kynurenine metabolism, has been shown to elevate brain levels of endogenous kynurenic acid, an excitatory amino acid receptor antagonist. This study examined the potential of nicotinylalanine to influence excitotoxic damage to striatal NADPH diaphorase (NADPH-d) and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)ergic neurones that are selectively lost in Huntington's disease. 2. A unilateral injection of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor agonist, quinolinic acid, into the rat striatum produced an 88% depletion of NADPH-d neurones. Intrastriatal infusion of quinolinic acid also produced a dose-dependent reduction in striatal GABA content. 3. Nicotinylalanine (2.3, 3.2, 4.6, 6.4 nmol 5 microl(-1), i.c.v.) administered with L-kynurenine (450 mg kg(-1)), a precursor of kynurenic acid, and probenecid (200 mg kg(-1)), an inhibitor of organic acid transport, 3 h before the injection of quinolinic acid (15 nmol) produced a dose-related attenuation of the quinolinic acid-induced loss of NADPH-d neurones. Nicotinylalanine (5.6 nmol 5 microl(-1)) in combination with L-kynurenine and probenecid also attenuated quinolinic acid-induced reductions in striatal GABA content. 4. Nicotinylalanine (4.6 nmol, i.c.v.), L-kynurenine alone or L-kynurenine administered with probenecid did not attenuate quinolinic acid-induced depletion of striatal NADPH-d neurones. However, combined administration of kynurenine and probenecid did prevent quinolinic acid-induced reductions in ipsilateral striatal GABA content. 5. Injection of nicotinylalanine, at doses (4.6 nmol and 5.6 nmol i.c.v.) which attenuated quinolinic acid-induced striatal neurotoxicity, when combined with L-kynurenine and probenecid produced increases in both whole brain and striatal kynurenic acid levels. Administration of L-kynurenine and probenecid without nicotinylalanine also elevated kynurenic acid, but to a lesser extent. 6. The results of this study demonstrate that nicotinylalanine has the potential to attenuate quinolinic acid-induced striatal neurotoxicity. It is suggested that nicotinylalanine exerts its effect by increasing levels of endogenous kynurenic acid in the brain. The results of this study suggest that agents which influence levels of endogenous excitatory amino acid antagonists such as kynurenic acid may be useful in preventing excitotoxic damage to neurones in the CNS.  相似文献

The isothermal oxidation resistance in air at 1273, 1323, and 1373 K of Fe-20Cr alloys with 1 wt pct dispersoid of Y203, La2O3, A12O3, TiO2, SiO2, Cr2O3 and without dispersoid prepared by a conventional sintering and rolling procedures was examined. It was found that SiO2 dispersoid reduced, while A12O3 dispersoid slightly increased the oxidation resistance. The dispersoids of TiO2 and Cr2O3 showed no beneficial effect on the oxidation resistance except for the oxidation after 10 h at 1373 K. The oxidation behavior after 10 h at 1373 K was rather complex including accelerated oxidation. The beneficial effect of La2O3 and Y2O3 dispersoids was excellent at all temperatures. The oxidation rates during the early stage of oxidation for the alloys with dispersoid were apparently dependent on the type of the dispersoid. There was no evidence that dispersoid accumulated at the scale-alloy interface. Comparison of results obtained for the oxidation of the alloys prepared by a powder metallurgical procedure with results for the alloys by arc-melting procedure indicated that the grain size of the alloy is an important factor for reduction of oxidation rate but does not seem to be critical, because the grain size of the alloys with dispersoid was not dependent on the type of the dispersoid. Ion Microanalyses of the Cr2O3 scale formed after 1 h oxidation at 1373 K showed an interesting feature in that all the dispersed elements were incorporated in the scale and the iron content of the scale was lower on the alloys which exhibited better oxidation resistance.  相似文献

The exacting quality required of hemispherical heavy-walled steel castings, used in nuclear power applications, has been remarkably improved by the adoption of a newly developed metal-mould process. This technique is dependent on the use of a metal core. The optimum conditions for solidification were determined by the finite element analytical method. The appropriate wall-thickness of the chill elements was also investigated using data based on actual experience. The core was designed in such a manner that the surface carried a series of concave “dimples” in the manner of a golf-ball, the pattern being intended to prevent the formation of cracks, generated on the casting surface when in contact with a metal mould. Stresses caused by solidification shrinkage were reduced by splitting the core. In the event, the casting structure conformed well to the results of the solidification analysis. Radiographic examination revealed a high level of soundness, with no trace of internal defects. No anisotropy was detected in mechanical properties. It is shown that this process is being currently employed in the manufacture of actual products.  相似文献

Metal fluoride added carbon anodes treated by pre-electrolysis were investigated for electrolytic production of nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) in molten NH4F·KF·4HF at 100 °C. The conditions for pre-electrolysis were first optimized using a graphite sheet anode as a model anode. The formation of fluorine-graphite intercalation compounds (fluorine-GICs) with semi-covalent C–F bonds, (CxF)n, on the MgF2 and CaF2 added carbon anode surface was accelerated by pre-electrolysis at potentials less than 4.0 V. Critical current densities (CCD) on the MgF2 added carbon anodes pre-electrolyzed under various conditions were determined, and the highest CCD was 290 mA cm−2 obtained for that pre-electrolyzed at 3.5 V for 500 C cm−2. This anode was successfully used in the electrolysis at 100 mA cm−2 for 290 h and the maximum NF3 current efficiency was 55%. From these results, it was concluded that the metal fluoride added carbon anode treated by pre-electrolysis has a high potential for electrolytic production of NF3 at higher current density.  相似文献

A switched-capacitor interface for a capacitive pressure sensor is developed which provides a linear digital output. It consists basically of a sample/hold circuit followed by a charge-balancing analog-to-digital converter. The sensor capacitance changes hyperbolically with an applied pressure. To convert the nonlinear capacitance change into the linear digital output, two linearization methods are investigated. In either method, a linear digital output with an accuracy higher than 8-b is obtained. Because of its high-accuracy capability and compatible fabrication process, the interface described is best suited for a smart silicon capacitive pressure sensor  相似文献
