The effect of humidity during storage on the crosslinking reactions of isocyanate groups was investigated with attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with pressure‐sensitive adhesives composed of poly[ethyl acrylate‐co‐(2‐ethylhexyl acrylate)‐co‐(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate)] as a base resin and polyisocyanate as a crosslinker. A peak‐resolving analysis of the amide II region revealed four bands. According to an analysis of the Fourier transform infrared spectra of the model compounds, these four bands were assigned to free urethane linkages, hydrogen‐bonded urethane linkages, free urea linkages, and hydrogen‐bonded urea linkages. As expected, storage under humid conditions led to the formation of free and hydrogen‐bonded urea linkages corresponding to the promotion of isocyanate consumption. Peak resolution of the amide II region was found to be a reasonable way of monitoring urethane and urea linkages during crosslinking reactions. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polyelectrolyte complex based on chitosan and acrylic acid monomer by photoinitiated free‐radical polymerization in the absence of crosslinker showed a large transition in swelling in response to changes in pH of surrounding medium. Their ability to swell arises from polyelectrolyte interactions and molecular structure of the complex. The main properties of interest that related to the molecular structure, swelling volumes, glass transition temperature, and elastic modulus of the complex were investigated. The effect of water content, the only variable in the sample component, played an important role in molecular structure of the complex and as a consequence, the extent of intermolecular linkage, especially amide bonds which in turn governed the degree of swelling of the polyelectrolyte complex in this study. The decreased degree of swelling and higher temperature shift of glass transition temperature was found with increased water content, whereas increased modulus of elasticity of dry complex was found in lower water content of synthesis component. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A 70-year-old woman underwent radical mastectomy for carcinoma of the left breast in 1982. Postoperative radiation therapy was given in a total dose of 50 Gy for parasternal and left subclavian nodes. Symptoms of heart failure such as exertional dyspnea, facial edema, and hepatomegaly manifested in 1992. Cardiac catheterization revealed marked elevation of mean right atrial pressure and right ventricular end-diastolic pressure. The pressure wave form of the right ventricle showed the so called "dip and plateau" feature. Pericardiectomy without using extracorporeal circulation was performed in 1994. Operative findings and pathological study results were compatible with radiation-induced constrictive pericarditis. She rapidly recovered from heart failure after this operation, and has done very well to date.  相似文献

A new carbon-carbon bond has been regioselectively introduced into a target position (position 32 or 174) of the Ras protein by two types of organopalladium reactions (Mizoroki-Heck and Sonogashira reactions). Reaction conditions were screened by using a model peptide, and the stability of the Ras protein under the reaction conditions was examined by using the wild-type Ras protein. Finally, the iF-Ras proteins containing a 4-iodo-L-phenylalanine residue were subjected to organopalladium reactions with vinylated or propargylated biotin. Site-specific biotinylations of the Ras protein were confirmed by Western blot and LC-MS/MS.  相似文献

Natural rubber (NR) was blended in various ratios with 12 kinds of tackifiers that were prepared from petroleum. The blends were heated to various temperatures (20–120°C) to investigate their miscibility. The blends were visually observed for transparency or opacity at each temperature and further observed under an optical microscope for any existence of phase-separated structure. Miscibility of the blends is illustrated as phase diagrams in this article. NR/aliphatic resin systems and NR/aliphatic-aromatic copolymer systems showed phase diagrams of the lower critical solution temperature type, wherein the blends turned faintly cloudy over the binodal curves. The NR/hydrogenated petroleum resin system also showed a phase diagram of the lower critical solution temperature type. The miscible range of a blend system tends to become smaller as the molecular weight of a tackifier increases. Relationship between the miscibility of pressure‐sensitive adhesives (PSAs) acrylic copolymer/hydrogenated rosin systems and their performance (180° peel strength, probe tack, and holding power), which was measured over a wide range of time and temperature, were investigated. The miscible range of the blend system tended to become smaller as the molecular weight of the tackifier increased. In the case of miscible blend systems, the viscoelastic properties (such as the storage modulus and the loss modulus) shifted toward higher temperature or toward lower frequency and, at the same time, the pressure‐sensitive adhesive performance shifted toward the lower rate side as the Tg of the blend increased. In the case of acrylic copolymer/hydrogenated rosin acid systems, a somewhat unusual trend was observed in the relationship among the phase diagram, Tg, and the pressure‐sensitive adhesive performance. Tg of the blend was higher than that expected from Tgs of the pure components. This trend can be due to the presence of free carboxyl group in the tackifier resin. However, the phase diagram depended on the molecular weight of the tackifier. The pressure‐sensitive adhesive performance depended on the viscoelastic properties of the bulk phase. A few systems where a single Tg could be measured, despite the fact that two phases were observed microscopically, were found. The curve of the probe tack of this system shifted toward a lower rate side as the Tg increases.
