1. We characterized the endothelial cell-derived growth factors of SHRSP and Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY), respectively and found that platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)-B chain related growth factor constituted a major portion of the mitogenic activity of the conditioned media of endothelial cells from both animals. There were no remarkable qualitative differences between the endothelial cell-derived growth factors of SHRSP and WKY. 2. Northern analysis revealed that the expression of PDGF-B chain was 2-4-fold enhanced in cultured aortic endothelial cells of SHRSP. This enhanced expression of PDGF-B chain, which may be induced under chronic hypertensive conditions, is suggested to contribute to the increase in endothelial cell-derived growth factors reported in this animal. 相似文献

Three kinds of aramid fabrics, Technora (modified p-aramid), Conex (m-aramid) and Kevlar (p-aramid), were subjected to sputter etching and argon low-temperature plasma treatments after dyeing in black with disperse dyes. The depth of shade increased considerably on Technora and Kevlar with the sputter etching treatment, but not on Conex fabrics. Argon low-temperature plasma treatment had virtually no effect on the depth of shade on the aramid fabrics. 相似文献

Recently, combined therapy using chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been proposed as a means of improving treatment outcomes. In order to evaluate the efficacy of combined therapy, it is necessary to determine the distribution of the anticancer drug and the photosensitizer. We investigated the use of imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) to simultaneously observe the distributions of an anticancer drug and photosensitizer administered to cancer cells. In particular, we sought to increase the sensitivity of detection of the anticancer drug docetaxel and the photosensitizer protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) by optimizing the ionization-assisting reagents. When we used a matrix consisting of equal weights of a zeolite (NaY5.6) and a conventional organic matrix (6-aza-2-thiothymine) in matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization, the signal intensity of the sodium-adducted ion of docetaxel (administered at 100 μM) increased about 13-fold. Moreover, we detected docetaxel with the zeolite matrix using the droplet method, and detected PpIX by fluorescence and IMS with α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (CHCA) using the spray method. 相似文献

The rabbit Na+/glucose cotransporter (SGLT1) exhibits a presteady-state current after step changes in membrane voltage in the absence of sugar. These currents reflect voltage-dependent processes involved in cotransport, and provide insight on the partial reactions of the transport cycle. SGLT1 presteady-state currents were studied as a function of external Na+, membrane voltage Vm, phlorizin and temperature. Step changes in membrane voltage-from the holding Vh to test values, elicited transient currents that rose rapidly to a peak (at 3-4 msec), before decaying to the steady state, with time constants tau approximately 4-20 msec, and were blocked by phlorizin (Ki approximately 30 microm). The total charge Q was equal for the application of the voltage pulse and the subsequent removal, and was a function of Vm. The Q-V curves obeyed the Boltzmann relation: the maximal charge Qmax was 4-120 nC; V0.5, the voltage for 50% Qmax was -5 to +30 mV; and z, the apparent valence of the moveable charge, was 1. Qmax and z were independent of Vh (between 0 and -100 mV) and temperature (20-30 degrees C), while increasing temperature shifted V0.5 towards more negative values. Decreasing [Na+]o decreased Qmax, and shifted V0.5 to more negative voltages 9by -100 mV per 10-fold decrease in [Na+]o). The time constant tau was voltage dependent: the tau-V relations were bell-shaped, with maximal taumax 8-20 msec. Decreasing [Na+]o decreased taumax, and shifted the tau-V curves towards more negative voltages. Increasing temperature also shifted the tau-V curves, but did not affect taumax. The maximum temperature coefficient Q10 for tau was 3-4, and corresponds to an activation energy of 25 kcal/mole. Simulations of a 6-state ordered kinetic model for rabbit Na+/glucose cotransport indicate that charge-movements are due to Na+-binding/dissociation and a conformational change of the empty transporter. The model predicts that (i) transient currents rise to a peak before decay to steady-state; (ii) the tau-V relations are bell-shaped, and shift towards more negative voltages as [Na+]o is reduced; (iii) taumax is decreased with decreasing [Na+]o; and (iv) the Q-V relations are shifted towards negative voltages as [Na+]o is reduced. In order to develop practical thermoelectric materials consisting solely of environmentally friendly elements, we investigated
the thermoelectric properties of the Al10Mn3-type (P63/mmc, hp26) Al77−x
Mn23Si
x
alloys and the Al102Mn24Si12-type (Pm-3, cP138) Al82−x
Mn5.5Fe12.5Si
x
alloys, both of which possess a pseudogap at the Fermi level. The formation range in which the single phase is obtained was
determined for these two phases. The electrical resistivity, Seebeck coefficient, and thermal conductivity of the samples
involving no secondary phase were measured over the temperature range of 2 K to 300 K. It is found that the thermoelectric
properties of these phases are qualitatively accounted for in terms of the pseudogap at the Fermi level in the electronic

This paper presents a new method which visualizes the high‐speed three‐dimensional images of prebreakdown streamers in dielectric liquids. A new optical system, having two crossed light axes to observe the needle tip from different directions, was designed. The shadowgraphic images from these two directions were combined through a beam splitter and focused on the photo‐cathode of an image converter camera. The photograph taken by this high‐speed shadowgraph system was reconstructed to three‐dimensional images using an image scanner and a computer.
