The authors tried to establish quantitative and qualitative acoustic parameters of a good voice, suitable for future voice professionals. In their work they used long-time average spectrum analysis (LTAS) and three-dimensional analysis of periodicity (3D-PAN). They consider the regression straight line of formant regions and the parameters offered by 3D-PAN--jitter first of all--as the main acoustic parameters for the evaluation of voice quality and draw attention to the fact that acoustic parameters represent only one part of the evaluation of voice quality.  相似文献

Background: Tissue sources of pain emanating from degenerative discs remains incompletely understood. Canine intervertebral discs (IVDs) were needle puncture injured, 4-weeks later injected with either phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) or NTG-101, harvested after an additional fourteen weeks and then histologically evaluated for the expression of NGFr, BDNF, TrkB and CALCRL proteins. Quantification was performed using the HALO automated cell-counting scoring platform. Immunohistochemical analysis was also performed on human IVD tissue samples obtained from spinal surgery. Immunohistochemical analysis and quantification of neurotrophins and neuropeptides was performed using an in vivo canine model of degenerative disc disease and human degenerative disc tissue sections. Discs injected with NTG-101 showed significantly lower levels of Nerve Growth Factor receptor (NGFr/TrkA, p = 0.0001), BDNF (p = 0.009), TrkB (p = 0.002) and CALCRL (p = 0.008) relative to PBS injections. Human IVD tissue obtained from spinal surgery due to painful DDD show robust expression of NGFr, BDNF, TrkB and CALCRL proteins. A single intradiscal injection of NTG-101 significantly inhibits the expression of NGFr, BDNF, TrkB and CALCRL proteins in degenerative canine IVDs. These results strongly suggest that NTG-101 inhibits the development of neurotrophins that are strongly associated with painful degenerative disc disease and may have profound effects upon the management of patients living with discogenic pain.  相似文献

This work utilizes a modification of our process of polymer entrapment in silver to deposit silver crystals on carbon nanofibers at different relative concentrations. The experimental procedure and the characteristics of silver coated nanofibers are presented in detail. The resulting nanofibers are then melt-mixed with a polypropylene-polyaniline blend to form a uniform dispersion that is finally extruded to produce continuous monofilament composites of high axial orientation. The reinforcement effect of the silver coated nanofibers, manifested in the mechanical properties of the monofilament composites, is 3-5 folds higher than that of the pristine nanofibers due to the improved stress transfer mechanism of the former. Additional attractive properties of the new system may result from its anisotropic crystalline structure, enhanced thermal stability, potential electrical conductivity and antibacterial behavior.  相似文献

This paper discusses the design of high gain, general purpose op amps. The op amp is based on a novel cascaded design using comparators and with structural simplicity approaching that of digital circuits. Ideally, the design tool presented here can be used to optimize gain and CMRR independent of the other op amp performance parameters. The designed op amp has 140 dB open-loop gain and 43 MHz unity gain frequency (GBW) in Berkeley Spice3f Level-2 simulation. The circuit is implemented using a 2.0 m nwell CMOS process through MOSIS. The op amp is self-biased and requires only power supplies of ±2.5 V. It occupies an area of 113 m×474 m.  相似文献

The volatile components from kebab flavour used in dusting potato chips were isolated by continuous steam distillation extraction (SDE) method. Sixteen volatile components were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique. The main constituents were aldehydes, hydrocarbons, thiophenes and fatty acids. Two potato chips samples, one flavoured with salt and the other with the kebab flavour, were stored for six months at room temperature. The aroma of each sample was isolated before and after storage. The results showed that the most contributor components to potato chips aroma were decreased by storage while the components which are responsible for rancid flavour were increased in the two samples, but with better results for the sample flavoured with salt.  相似文献

This paper presents a new theory that addresses the issue of passivity in macromodels of electrical interconnects constructed based on the method of characteristics (MoC). The proposed approach develops a new algebraic test to check for passivity in macromodels generated using MoC. The theory behind the developed test is based on deriving the necessary and sufficient conditions for the loss of positive-realness in the admittance matrix of the developed macromodel. An algorithmic procedure is proposed to verify passivity of general macromodels derived from the MoC. The results presented in this paper can be employed to test for positive-realness in dynamical systems described by algebraic delay-differential equations with discrete commensurate delays.  相似文献

Clustering is an effective approach for organizing a network into a connected hierarchy, load balancing, and prolonging the network lifetime. On the other hand, fuzzy logic is capable of wisely blending different parameters. This paper proposes an energy-aware distributed dynamic clustering protocol (ECPF) which applies three techniques: (1) non-probabilistic cluster head (CH) elections, (2) fuzzy logic, and (3) on demand clustering. The remaining energy of the nodes is the primary parameter for electing tentative CHs via a non-probabilistic fashion. A non-probabilistic CH election is implemented by introducing a delay inversely proportional to the residual energy of each node. Therefore, tentative CHs are selected based on their remaining energy. In addition, fuzzy logic is employed to evaluate the fitness (cost) of a node in order to choose a final CH from the set of neighboring tentative CHs. On the other hand, every regular (non CH) node elects to connect to the CH with the least fuzzy cost in its neighborhood. Besides, in ECPF, CH elections are performed sporadically (in contrast to performing it every round). Simulation results demonstrate that our approach performs better than well known protocols (LEACH, HEED, and CHEF) in terms of extending network lifetime and saving energy.  相似文献
