This article presents an assembly sequence planner for tetrahedral truss structures. To overcome the difficulties due to the large number of parts, the planner exploits the simplicity and uniformity of the shapes of the parts and the regularity of their interconnection. The planning automation is based on the computational formalism known as production system. The global database consists of an hexagonal grid representation of the truss structure. This representation captures the regularity of tetrahedral truss structures and their multiple hierarchies. It maps into quadratic grids and can be implemented in a computer by using a two dimensional array data structure. By maintaining the multiple hierarchies explicitly in the model, the choice of a particular hierarchy is only made when needed, thus allowing a more informed decision. Furthermore, testing the preconditions of the production rules is simple because the patterned way in which the struts are interconnected is incorporated into the topology of the hexagonal grid. A directed graph representation of assembly sequences allows the use of both graph search and backtracking control strategies.  相似文献

1. The effect of propionate on lipid synthesis in lymphocytes cultured for 24 hr and incubated for 2 hr was investigated. 2. [1-14C]-propionate was incorporated mainly into phospholipids in both control and concanavalin A (Con A) stimulated cultured lymphocytes. 3. The content of free coenzyme A markedly decreased in 2 hr incubated lymphocytes when propionate was added to the medium at concentrations from 10 to 100 mmol/l. 4. Propionate at 40 mmol/l decreased the incorporation of [1-14C]-palmitate into phospholipids (86%), triacylglycerol (87%) and cholesterol ester (98%) and increased in cholesterol (133%) of cultured lymphocytes. 5. Addition of propionate into the culture medium at 2.5 and 5.0 mmol/l concentrations markedly increased the activity of hydrolases of various acylCoA derivatives. 6. The results suggest that propionate may reduce the content of acylCoA and so its esterification and this might be important for the regulation of lymphocytes proliferation.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate chemical, technological, and sensory quality of tef in products made exclusively with tef flour and tef flour associated with other flours. The selection of the studies and the extraction of information were carried out through research in several databases. Tef flour was used in cakes, cookies, breads, cupcakes, muffins, and extruded snacks. Bread was the most evaluated product with tef flour associated with other flours or exclusively. Most of the outcomes were with tef (5–50%) associated with other flours. Increased levels of fibers, minerals, antioxidant capacity, and flavonoids were noted according to the percentage of tef. Technological characteristics demonstrated that these products showed intermediate final quality, due to the characteristics of volume, specific volume, firmness, and luminosity. Regarding sensory quality, studies that used (5–35%) tef flour associated with other flours were well-accepted.  相似文献

Tanzania is the second largest country in East Africa with about 50 million inhabitants in 2014, and it is also considered as one of the poorest countries in the world. The country strongly depends on agriculture production. Like many other poor countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Tanzania sees food security as a central part of development and poverty reduction efforts. This work aims to investigate the opportunities and constraints of implementing a policy of “Kitchen Gardens” as a practice for two regions of Tanzania. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach through a first round of semi-structured interviews using a Scaling up Assessment Tool (ScalA), and a second round with a questionnaire survey, using a Scaling up Assessment Tool for Food Security (ScalA-FS) by Tanzanian and German experts from the Trans-SEC project. The experts assessed implementation suitability and the institutional requirements of Kitchen Garden across the food value chains in two Tanzanian regions with different climate regions, namely Dodoma (semi-arid) and Morogoro (sub-humid). Kitchen Garden assessments did not differ significantly between these regions. The ScalA tools provided a range of statements that allowed an overview of the structural situation to be obtained, which could enable Kitchen Garden activity to be incentivized and scaled up. However, a number of specific aspects, potentials, challenges, and likely bottlenecks of implementation related to their feasibility and institutional requirements, were indicated, which should be carefully monitored during implementation. Adopting the recommended strategies could help to close gaps in implementation, enhance community empowerment and social network development, reduce food insecurity and improve the health of the communities.  相似文献

Nisin Z, an amphipathic peptide, with a significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and low toxicity in humans, has been studied for food preservation applications. Thus far, very little research has been done to explore its potential in biomedicine. Here, we report the modification of sodium alginate (SA) and gelatin (GN) blended microfibers, produced via the wet-spinning technique, with Nisin Z, with the purpose of eradicating Staphylococcus aureus-induced infections. Wet-spun SAGN microfibers were successfully produced at a 70/30% v/v of SA (2 wt%)/GN (1 wt%) polymer ratio by extrusion within a calcium chloride (CaCl2) coagulation bath. Modifications to the biodegradable fibers’ chemical stability and structure were then introduced via crosslinking with CaCl2 and glutaraldehyde (SAGNCL). Regardless of the chemical modification employed, all microfibers were labelled as homogeneous both in size (≈246.79 µm) and shape (cylindrical and defect-free). SA-free microfibers, with an increased surface area for peptide immobilization, originated from the action of phosphate buffer saline solution on SAGN fibers, were also produced (GNCL). Their durability in physiological conditions (simulated body fluid) was, however, compromised very early in the experiment (day 1 and 3, with and without Nisin Z, respectively). Only the crosslinked SAGNCL fibers remained intact for the 28 day-testing period. Their thermal resilience in comparison with the unmodified and SA-free fibers was also demonstrated. Nisin Z was functionalized onto the unmodified and chemically altered fibers at an average concentration of 178 µg/mL. Nisin Z did not impact on the fiber’s morphology nor on their chemical/thermal stability. However, the peptide improved the SA fibers (control) structural integrity, guaranteeing its stability for longer, in physiological conditions. Its main effect was detected on the time-kill kinetics of the bacteria S. aureus. SAGNCL and GNCL loaded with Nisin Z were capable of progressively eliminating the bacteria, reaching an inhibition superior to 99% after 24 h of culture. The peptide-modified SA and SAGN were not as effective, losing their antimicrobial action after 6 h of incubation. Bacteria elimination was consistent with the release kinetics of Nisin Z from the fibers. In general, data revealed the increased potential and durable effect of Nisin Z (significantly superior to its free, unloaded form) against S. aureus-induced infections, while loaded onto prospective biomedical wet-spun scaffolds.  相似文献

This paper describes the development of a process based on high energy milling (or mechanical alloying—MA) of metallic Ni and YSZ at 40 vol% Ni composition for the preparation of solid oxide fuel cell anode material. The cermet powder is consolidated using the surface activated sintering (SAS) method. The cermet pellets possess microstructural characteristics that can potentially lead to higher electrocatalytic activity and fuel reforming capability. In addition to the development of a new processing method for this purpose, a further differential of this work is the addition of Cu in partial substitution of Ni as a means to prevent the formation of carbon on its surface and, hence, the anode’s degradation during service. The prepared powder samples are well dispersed and structured at the nanometric level, showing thin lamellar constituents. Suitable sintered pellets can be obtained from the powders with the required porosity and microstructure. The higher the energy delivered by MA the lower the initial sintering temperature. Activation energies are determined by stepwise isothermal dilatometry (SID) for Ni-YSZ and Ni/Cu-YSZ pellets, involving a 2-step sintering process. The Cu additive promotes sintering and leads to a refined microstructure.  相似文献
