Smoothed fibers of PLA/cassava starch were prepared by single nozzle electrospinning process intended for tissue scaffold application. PLA in dichloromethane (DCM) solution was immiscible with cassava starch in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) solution. A conjugated solvent system was introduced to simply prepare a well-mixed solution of both components. In this experiment, methanol was used as a conjugated solvent between PLA/DCM solution and cassava starch/DMSO solution to create well-mixed solution. Conjugated solvent selection was based on values of polarity index, intermediate between values of DCM and DMSO. Smoothed electrospun fiber of PLA/cassava starch was obtained. 相似文献

This study evaluated the releasing performance of tara tannin, a cocktail of plant polyphenols, incorporated in submicron fiber, produced by the electrospinning process. Polylactic acid was used as a polymer matrix that carried two loading levels of tara tannin, 14.3 and 22.3% dry weight in the final product. The fiber diameter of composite fibers was in the range 500–700 nm. The release of tara tannin was controlled by material attachment as there was no evidence of chemical bonding between materials. This was further confirmed by FTIR and DSC. From the five combinations of acid that were presented in tara tannin, galloylquinic acid, with the smallest molecular weight composition, was released in the largest proportion (%molar) and exhibited antioxidant activity. This was confirmed by 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl assay and HPLC‐MS analyses. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2016 , 133, 43646. 相似文献

Poly(lactic acid) has been electrospun into submicron fibers with embedded cassava starch matrix. The fibers had average fiber diameters between 140 and 680?nm. The starch content varied from 10 to 20% in total solids. Water contact angles were measured on sheets of these fiber materials and correlated with the fiber size and starch content. Water contact angles varied from 80 to 120° which shows that the fiber composition can control the mat properties from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. The results also showed variation in the average fiber diameters alone did not always affect sheet wettability. These results show the importance of the relationship between the electrospun fiber sheet topography and material composition to the wettability of polysaccharide electrospun nanofibers. 相似文献
