Carbon-coated SiC@C nanocapsules (NCs) with a hexagonal platelet-like morphology were fabricated by a simple direct current (DC) arc-discharge plasma method.The SiC@C NCs were monocrystalline,120-150 nm in size,and approximately 50 nm thick.The formation of the as-prepared SiC@C NCs included nucleation of truncated octahedral SiC seeds and subsequent anisotropic growth of the seeds into hexagonal nanoplatelets in a carbon-rich atmosphere.The disordered carbon layers on the SiC@C NCs were converted into SiO2 shells of SiC@SiO2 NCs by heat treatment at 650 ℃ in air,during which the shape and inherent characteristics of the crystalline SiC core were obtained.The interface evolution from carbon to SiO2 shells endowed the SiC@SiO2 NCs with enhanced photocatalytic activity due to the hydrophilic and transparent nature of the SiO2 shell,as well as to the photosensitive SiC nanocrystals.The band gap of the nanostructured SiC core was determined to be 2.70 eV.The SiC@SiO2 NCs degraded approximately 95% of methylene blue in 160 min under visible light irradiation.  相似文献

The dependence of the mobility of charge carriers on voltage has been studied in undoped GaSe single crystals and crystals doped with gadolinium; the latter crystals have exhibited various values of dark resistivity (??d.r ?? 104?108 ?? cm at 77 K) and of the doping level (N = 10?5, 10?4, 10?3, 10?2, and 10?1 at %). It is established that the dependence of the charge-carrier mobility on the electric field applied to the sample E ?? 102 V/cm is observed in undoped high-resistivity GaSe crystals (??d.r ?? 104 ?? cm) and in lightly doped GaSe crystals (N ?? 10?2 at %) in the region of T ?? 150 K. It is found that this dependence is not related to heating of the charge carriers by an electric field; rather, it is caused by elimination of drift barriers as a result of injection.  相似文献

Aluminium phosphate (AlPO4) was characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Fourier Transform infrared (FTIR), point of zero charge (PZC) and dissolution studies. XRD showed the sample to be amorphous, FTIR confirmed the presence of OH groups on the surface and PZC was determined at pH 3.45. The dissolution study illustrated a decrease in dissolution with an increase in the pH. Potentiometric titration data were fit to the Gaines–Thomas equation, which showed that AlPO4 is a weakly acidic ion exchanger. Sorption studies were carried out at pH 4–6 and temperatures 293–323 K. The uptake of metal ions was observed to increase with an increase in the pH and temperature. The surface selectivity towards metal ions was found in the order Pb2+> Cu2+> Cd2+. Sorption data were fit to the new equation derived from the proposed mechanism for metal ion uptake. Various parameters such as stoichiometry of the surface H+ ion release, equilibrium constant, standard enthalpy, entropy and free energy changes were evaluated from the plots. The values of all these parameters were found to be closely related to the values reported in the literature.  相似文献

Novel multifunctional polymer nanofiber electrolytes with covalence crosslinked structures from various solution blends of reactive intercalated poly(vinyl alcohol)/octadecylamine montmorillonite (as a matrix polymer), poly(maleic anhydride‐alt‐methyl vinyl ether) (as a partner polymer) and their NaOH‐absorbing and Ag‐carrying polymer complexes were fabricated via electrospinning. Chemical, physical, morphological, and electrical properties of nanofiber structures were investigated by FTIR, XRD, SEM, and electrical analysis methods. Ag precursors in fiber composites significantly improved phase separation processing, fiber morphologies, diameter distributions, and electrical properties of the fibers. In situ generation of Ag nanoparticles and their distribution on nanofiber surfaces during fiber formation occurred via complex formation between silver cations and electronegative functional groups from both matrix and partner polymers as stabilizing/reducing agents. Electrical resistance and conductivity strongly depended on matrix/partner polymer ratios and absorption time of NaOH solution on nanofibers. Addition of NaOH changed the electrical properties of fiber structures from almost dielectric state to excellent conductivity form. The fabricated unique nanofiber electrolytes are promising candidates for applications in power and fuel cell nanotechnology, electrochemical, and bioengineering processes as reactive semiconductive platforms. Condition-based maintenance (CBM) is generally considered an attractive maintenance policy for a single component: it uses the operating condition of the component to predict a failure event and therefore tries to avoid any unplanned downtime and unnecessary maintenance activities. However, operations managers tend to be much more interested in optimising the performance of the entire asset-system, where the grouping of maintenance activities and the availability of maintenance workers may play a role. Therefore, this paper focuses on the impact of using either CBM or age-based replacement (ABR) in serial and parallel multi-component systems (1) without worker constraints, (2) with a single internal maintenance worker, and (3) with external maintenance workers with a significant response time. With an internal maintenance worker, the sequential execution of maintenance activities prevents efficiency gains in the serial configuration and here CBM performs better. Also in the parallel configurations, the efficiency under CBM is generally better than under ABR. However, with external maintenance workers, CBM is not able to group maintenance activities as well as ABR, which results in a lower efficiency in the serial configuration. CBM performs better than ABR with respect to total maintenance costs, while ABR results in a smoother maintenance plan.  相似文献

Cu50?xCox Zr50 (x = 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at.%) alloys were cast in a cylindrical copper mold by a suction casting device. In order to investigate the thermal behavior of the as-cast rods, the samples were heated from 313 to 573 K and then cooled down to about 253 K. The structure of the samples was studied by X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy. Thermal cycling measurements were also done for alloys with 2, 3, 4 and 5 at.% cobalt. It was found that increasing the cobalt content decreases martensite (Ms) and austenite (As) start temperatures, while it increases the temperature region in which austenite is stable. Thermal cycling measurements revealed that by increasing the number of cycles, the austenite start temperature increases while martensite start temperature shifts to lower temperatures.  相似文献

Although parking revenue is a principal source of income, supply of parking infrastructure at airports is based largely on expected needs. Although that is a rational basis, high investment costs and management fees are requiring developers and financiers to carefully analyze investment risks. This paper focuses on sources of investment risk in airport parking infrastructure development and discusses the application of Monte Carlo simulation to estimate and understand the impacts of cash flow uncertainties on project feasibility. It is shown that cost overruns, which are common in construction project development, have the most significant impact on return risk.  相似文献

Functional copolymer/organo‐silicate [N,N′‐dimethyldodecyl ammonium cation surface modified montmorillonite (MMT)] layered nanocomposites have been synthesized by interlamellar complex‐radical copolymerization of preintercalated maleic anhydride (MA)/ organo‐MMT complex as a ‘nano‐reactor’ with n‐butyl methacrylate (BMA) as an internal plasticization comonomer in the presence of radical initiator. Synthesized copolymers and their nanocomposites were investigated by dynamic mechanic analysis, X‐ray diffraction, SEM, and TEM methods. It was found that nanocomposite dynamic mechanical properties strongly depend on the force of interfacial MA … organo‐MMT complex formation and the amount of flexible n‐butyl ester linkages. An increase in both of these parameters leads to enhanced intercalation and exfoliation in situ processes of copolymer chains and the formation of hybrid nanocomposites. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
