Spin probe study of semi‐interpenetrating polymer networks based on polyurethane and polymethacrylate functional prepolymers

The motional transition and heterogeneity of semi‐interpenetrating networks (SIPNs) based on polyurethane (PU) with carboxylic groups and methacrylic copolymer (PM) with tertiary amine groups were studied by the electron spin resonance (ESR) spin probe method. The concentration of functional groups in both prepolymers varied from 0 to 0.45 mmol g^?1. Spin‐probed SIPNs show that the temperature‐dependent spectra are sensitive to polymer interactions imposed by functional groups. These interactions determine the free volume distribution in the matrix and temperature at which motional transition takes place. The fraction of free volume increases with functional group concentration and reaches its maximum at 0.25 mmol g^?1. Further increases in the functional group concentration reduce the free volume. The results of the networks with strong interactions are discussed in terms of the interference of the plasticizing effect of the PU component and the formation of possible cluster cross‐links, which restricts segmental motions. Increasing the quality of diamond wheels for manual grinding of commercial and art glass

It was shown that use of AS32–AS50 diamond powders (instead of AS6–AS15 powders) combined with a new metal bond with hardness of HB 75–85 (in comparison to M2-01 binder) allows prolonging the lifetime of wheels by 1.5–2 times in grinding articles made of commercial and art glass, reducing the specific diamond consumption, and increasing the cutability of the instrument.     

Mathematical model of an industrial robot with articulated configuration and six degrees of freedom

This paper analyses the load influence on a d.c. drive motor servo system for all six degrees of freedom of industrial robots with an articulated configuration. Through the analyses, the analytical equations of total inertia and gravitation moments of an industrial robot servo system for external coordinate function were obtained. A mathematical model of an electro-mechanical industrial robot system was also developed.     

The use of monoclonal antibodies for detecting the influenza virus

The possibilities of using influenza A (Leningrad) 385/80 (H3N2) virus matrix protein-specific FITC-labeled D8 monoclonal antibodies in immunofluorescence assays were investigated. The virus antigen accumulation was detected in chorioallantoic cells of chick embryos. Exhibiting the type-specific properties, the fluorescent antibodies stain the perinuclear space, cytoplasmic membrane, and granular structures in the cytoplasm of infected cells. The haemagglutination test tires in the corresponding specimens were at least 1:16.
