The applicability of the ANSI loading guide for power transformers is limited to ambient temperatures above 0°C because the thermal model does not account for variations in the oil viscosity and winding resistance. A practical calculation method based on the bottom-oil temperature and the surface temperature at the top of the cooling duct has been developed. Results indicate that the proposed thermal model could provide a sound basis for calculating the overload capacity for ambient temperatures below 0°C or for severe overloads of short duration  相似文献

A large number of studies have been devoted in recent years to the miscibility behavior of linear polyesters with chlorinated polymers, including poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), chlorinated PVC, chlorinated poly(ethylenes), and copolymers of vinylidene chloride (Saran). However, similar studies with aromatic polyesters are lacking. It is the purpose of this paper to compare the properties of blends made of poly(ethylene terephthalate), poly(butylene terephthalate) or poly(hexamethylene terephthalate) and of various chlorinated polymers. It is shown that a high concentration of chlorine atoms is required to achieve miscibility. Moreover, there is a “miscibility window” in terms of the carbonyl concentration of polyesters, immiscibility being found for carbonyl concentrations outside this window, A similar behavior was observed before for linear polyester/chlorinated polymer blends and for polyester/polycarbonate blends. Solid state small-angle light scattering experiments were also conducted to follow the morphology of the blends as a function of composition. High-alumina containing high-level waste (HLW) will be vitrified at the Waste Treatment Plant at the Hanford Site. The resulting glasses, high in alumina, will have distinct composition-structure-property (C-S-P) relationships compared to previously studied HLW glasses. These C-S-P relationships determine the processability and product durability of glasses and therefore must be understood. The main purpose of this study is to understand the detailed structural changes caused by Al:Si and (Al + Na):Si substitutions in a simplified nuclear waste model glass (ISG, international simple glass) by combining experimental structural characterizations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The structures of these two series of glasses were characterized by neutron total scattering and 27Al, 23Na, 29Si, and 11B solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Additionally, MD simulations were used to generate atomistic structural models of the borosilicate glasses and simulation results were validated by the experimental structural data. Short-range (eg, bond distance, coordination number, etc) and medium-range (eg, oxygen speciation, network connectivity, polyhedral linkages) structural features of the borosilicate glasses were systematically investigated as a function of the degree of substitution. The results show that bond distance and coordination number of the cation-oxygen pairs are relatively insensitive to Al:Si and (Al + Na):Si substitutions with the exception of the B-O pair. Additionally, the Al:Si substitution results in an increase in tri-bridging oxygen species, whereas (Al + Na):Si substitution creates nonbridging oxygen species. Charge compensator preferences were found for Si-[NBO] (Na+), [3]B-[NBO] (Na+), [4]B (mostly Ca2+), [4]Al (nearly equally split Na+ and Ca2+), and [6]Zr (mostly Ca2+). The network former-BO-network former linkages preferences were also tabulated; Si-O-Al and Al-O-Al were preferred at the expense of lower Si-O-[3]B and [3]B-O-[3]B linkages. These results provide insights on the structural origins of property changes such as glass-transition temperature caused by the substitutions, providing a basis for future improvements of theoretical and computer simulation models.  相似文献

Hypoxia and cyanobacterial blooms were extensive in Lake Simcoe during the 1980s and are still a problem to a lesser degree despite extensive nutrient load reduction from the catchment basin. The continuing signs of productivity indicate a potential internal phosphorus (P) source. Internal P load, as a redox-dependent release from bottom sediments, is hard to determine in a large, relatively shallow and partially unstratified lake such as Lake Simcoe. Of the lake's three major basins, only Kempenfelt Bay stratifies long enough to develop hypoxia in the stagnant summer hypolimnion. The following indications of sediment P release are available from historic data: 1) hypolimnetic hypoxia still occurs in Kempenfelt Bay although the hypoxic factor (number of days that an area equal to the bay's surface area is overlain by water of ≤ 2 mg/L dissolved oxygen, DO) has decreased substantially and significantly from 15.8 d/yr (1980–1994) to 4.0 d/yr (1995–2011); 2) hypoxic factors for other lake sections and at different DO levels also indicate widespread hypoxia; 3) concentrations of redox dependent metals, Fe and Mn, increase with depth; and 4) euphotic zone P and chlorophyll concentrations increase and water clarity decreases during fall turnover. Cyanobacterial blooms appear to occur in response to internal load as supported by occasional cyanobacteria counts. These indicators provide evidence that internal loading is likely occurring and affecting the water quality in Lake Simcoe. We expect that further monitoring, specific for internal load, will corroborate these results.  相似文献

With the reduction of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) operating temperature to the range of 600 °C–800 °C, metallic alloy with high oxidation resistance are used to replace traditional ceramic interconnects. Metallic interconnects is advantageous over ceramic interconnects; in terms of manufacturability, cost, mechanical strength, and electrical conductivity. To date, promising candidates for metallic interconnects are all Cr-containing alloys, which are susceptible to volatile Cr migration that causes cell degradation. As such, protective coatings have been developed to effectively inhibit Cr migration; as well as maintain excellent electrical conductivity and good oxidation resistance. This article reviews the progress and technical challenges in developing metallic interconnects; different types of protective coatings and deposition techniques for metallic interconnects for intermediate-temperature SOFC applications.  相似文献

Multi-robot system attracted attention in various applications in order to replace the human operators. To achieve the intended goal, one of the main challenges of this system is to ensure the integrity of localization by adding a sensor fault diagnosis step to the localization task. In this paper, we present a framework able, in addition of localizing a group of robots, to detect and exclude the faulty sensors from the group with an optimized thresholding method. The estimator has the informational form of the Kalman Filter (KF) namely Information Filter (IF). A residual test based on the Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) between the predicted and the corrected distributions of the IF is developed. It is generated from two tests: the first acts on the means and the second deals with the covariance matrices. Thresholding using entropy based criterion and Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve are discussed. Finally, the validation of this framework is studied on real experimental data from a group of robots.  相似文献

Unripe banana flour is a potential commercial ingredient in various food products for increased resistant starch and reduced gluten contents. In the present study, the pasting (rapid visco-analysis), gel texture (penetration test), thermal (differential scanning calorimetry), colour (tri-stimulus colour indices) and the resistant starch properties of unripe banana flour produced from different dessert banana varieties (n?=?10) cultivated in South Africa, were analysed and juxtaposed to wheat and maize flour. The functional properties varied significantly (p?≤?0.05) between banana varieties, and from wheat and maize flours, to various extents. Selected functional property ranges of unripe banana, wheat and maize flours, respectively included; flour colour index (63.16–76.42, 77.34 and 80.96), paste viscosity (405.5–556.6, 124.7 and 115.6 RVU), gelatinization temperature (64.67–71.21, 71.11 and 69.95?°C), gel firmness (7.24–11.44?×?10??2 N, 3.49?×?10??2 N and 6.56?×?10??2 N) and resistant starch content (19.9–47.4, 2.8 and 2.2% w/w). Multivariate analysis (principle component analysis) showed that the unripe banana flours from different varieties were distinguished from each other based on the pasting temperature. The unripe banana flours were distinguished from both wheat and maize flour based on breakdown and peak paste viscosities. The breakdown viscosity was the most positively related measure to the resistant starch content with a linear regression R-squared value of 0.898, indicating a significant role played by granule structure in resistance to enzymatic hydrolysis. The present research demonstrates that selection of appropriate dessert banana variety is important when replacing staple flours (wheat and maize) with unripe dessert banana flour as a functional ingredient.  相似文献
