This paper discusses environmental conservation in reservoir watersheds, an important aspect relating to dam construction. The discussion of the subject describes how, in response to today's growing awareness of environmental issues, measures to absolutely minimize the effects on the environment of a dam project that will submerge the natural environment should be included in initial project plans, and how special concern for the environment ought to be shown throughout project implementation. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a potential substitute for conventional metallic biomedical implants owing to its superior mechanical and chemical properties, as well as biocompatibility. However, its inherent bio-inertness and poor osseointegration limit its use in clinical applications. Herein, thin titanium films were deposited on the PEEK substrate by plasma sputtering, and porous nanonetwork structures were incorporated on the PEEK surface by alkali treatment (PEEK-TNS). Changes in the physical and chemical characteristics of the PEEK surface were analyzed to establish the interactions with cell behaviors. The osteoimmunomodulatory properties were evaluated using macrophage cells and osteoblast lineage cells. The functionalized nanostructured surface of PEEK-TNS effectively promoted initial cell adhesion and proliferation, suppressed inflammatory responses, and induced macrophages to anti-inflammatory M2 polarization. Compared with PEEK, PEEK-TNS provided a more beneficial osteoimmune environment, including increased levels of osteogenic, angiogenic, and fibrogenic gene expression, and balanced osteoclast activities. Furthermore, the crosstalk between macrophages and osteoblast cells showed that PEEK-TNS could provide favorable osteoimmunodulatory environment for bone regeneration. PEEK-TNS exhibited high osteogenic activity, as indicated by alkaline phosphatase activity, osteogenic factor production, and the osteogenesis/osteoclastogenesis-related gene expression of osteoblasts. The study establishes that the fabrication of titanate nanonetwork structures on PEEK surfaces could extract an adequate immune response and favorable osteogenesis for functional bone regeneration. Furthermore, it indicates the potential of PEEK-TNS in implant applications.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of Fe contamination on the electronic properties of dislocation clusters in relation to oxygen precipitation in multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si). Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and mapping were performed at room and liquid-He temperatures on mc-Si wafers before and after Fe contamination. PL spectra consisted of the band-edge emission, the 0.78-eV emission associated with oxygen precipitates, and the dislocation-related D-lines. The Fe contamination increased the electrically active dislocation clusters. Part of these clusters acted as preferential oxygen precipitation sites, and their electronic properties were not further influenced by the Fe contamination.  相似文献

Hole-injection properties of annealed poly(alkoxy- and alkylthiophene) films in OLEDs were studied. Among them, annealed poly(3,3′-dihexyloxy-2,2′-bithiophene) (aPHOBT) film exhibited good hole-injection properties and a triple-layered OLED with the structure ITO/aPHOBT/PVK/Alq3/Mg–Ag (device I) showed much higher performance than a double-layered device without the aPHOBT layer (device II, ITO/PVK/Alq3/Mg–Ag). Device I was slightly inferior to a device having a PEDOT–PSS layer as the hole injector (device III, ITO/PEDOT– PSS/PVK/Alq3/Mg–Ag) in the low-intermediate region of the applied voltage (6–11 V), but gave comparable luminance to III when the applied voltage exceeded 11 V.  相似文献

Abstract— A full-color 5.2-inch 1/4-VGA passive-matrix organic LED display has been developed, adopting selective deposition for the different emitting materials. The display features 320 (×3) × 240 pixels with an equivalent pixel size of 0.33 × 0.33 mm, white peak luminance of over 150 cd/m2, and power consumption of 6 W.  相似文献

The paper presents a quantitative approach to the investigation and comparison of the material qualities of III–V on silicon (III–V/Si) solar cells by using external radiative efficiencies. We use this analysis to predict the limiting efficiencies and evaluate the criteria of material quality in order to achieve high‐efficiency III–V/Si solar cells. Lysosomes were isolated from the livers and from the kidneys of rats treated or not treated with the cysteine proteinase inhibitor leupeptin, and the levels of the intralysosomal serum albumin of the leupeptin-treated rats were compared with those of the saline-treated control rats. Leupeptin caused an intralysosomal accumulation of albumin in vivo because of its potent inhibition of lysosomal protein degradation. In fact, the lysosomes isolated from the livers and kidneys of leupeptin-treated rats almost completely lost their ability to degrade rat albumin in vitro. These findings show that the lysosomes are subcellular sites of the degradation of unlabeled serum albumin in these tissues. They also suggest that cysteine proteinases sensitive to leupeptin are involved in the lysosomal degradation of albumin. Albumin was degraded by total lysosomal enzymes in vitro. It was also degraded by the lysosomal extract being devoid of cathepsins H and J, prepared from rat kidney. The degradation of albumin by total lysosomal enzymes in vitro was greatly suppressed by a cysteine proteinase inhibitor, cystatin alpha, with no inhibition of cathepsins B and L. It was slightly suppressed by N-(L-3-trans-propylcarbamoyloxirane-2-carbonyl)-L-isoleucyl-L-prol ine (CA-074), a selective inhibitor of cathepsin B, and by pepstatin, an inhibitor of cathepsin D, whereas it was markedly suppressed by a combination of cystatin alpha and either CA-074 or pepstatin. These and associated findings show that cystatin alpha-sensitive cysteine proteinase(s), which is distinct from cathepsins B, H, L, and J, and cathepsins B and D are involved in the lysosomal degradation of albumin.  相似文献

Dams in Japan have contributed a great deal to the protection of life and properties, effectively prevented damage caused by floods, supported the maintenance of the normal functions of the river flow, and improved and conserved river environments. However, in recent years, many people in Japan have raised questions about the existing dams and dam projects without correct evaluation of the past impacts of dams. It has therefore become difficult to plan new dam projects and to operate existing dams properly as intended. People opposed to dams have commonly argued that dams inflict more damage on the environment than any other structure. For the reason that a dam will submerge its natural surroundings, counter measures to minimize its effects on the environment as much as possible should be taken, through every stage of the project. Particular attention should be given at the planning stage of dam projects. The latest developments in the conservation of the environment following dam construction and the concrete measures taken by dam constructors to follow the regulations concerned in Japan are described. The mitigation of the environmental impacts of dams and the restoration of the environments of downstream rivers are now the major issues.  相似文献

The paper introduces a method of population estimation using the Landsat MSS data. The radiance in the four spectral bands, detected by the multi spectral scanner (MSS) depends upon the ground covering materials, albeit the land use of the area. A mathematical model is set up to express the relation between the reflected electromagnetic energy of sample areas and their population distribution. Landsat 1 and Landsat 3 data of the Kanto area (including Tokyo Metropolitan), acquired in 1972 and 1979, are used along with ground-based census data of 1970 and 1975 to monitor the population distribution and its temporal changes. The method provided a reliable assessment of the population density in residential zones, however land-use classification using MSS imagery previous to the modeling is expected to improve the results.  相似文献

Bis(triethoxysilyl)-substituted oligothiophene with a moderate π-conjugation length was newly synthesized and polymerized to give a polysilsesquioxane network having oligothiophene units dispersed homogeneously without phase separation. The polymer was fixed on glass or ITO substrate by spin-coating and annealing. The resulting film exhibited a high mechanical strength due to the covalent bonding with the substrates, and was electrochemically stable even after 300 redox cycles in electrolyte solution. Chemical oxidation of the polymer films yielded electrically conductive and almost transparent films.  相似文献
